- Hawala case and securities scam surface in Parliament!
Politician - ministers arrive at the Indian Parliament in New Delhi, dis-embarking from their Hindustan Ambassador (Morris Minor!), Premier Padmini NE118 (Lada) and Maruti 800 cc cars. A rare 190D Mercedes (undoubtedly imported from Southall London, as a NRI transfer of residence car!) is also seen. This was the luxury car of choice!
Some prominent names can be seen. Some now having moved on and some still going strong. See the Lal batti Ambassadors arriving through the gates of the Sansad Bhavan. A Joint Parliamentary Committee relating to the stock scam was in session during these days.
"Healthy and vibrant signs of the economy. One achievement of the five years of the Congress Party are..." says one minister. Hawala and all these things will dominate Parliament. Suresh Kalmadi presents his Railway budget in Parliament. He speaks of the process of liberalization in India. The Prime Minister is out to fight corruption, but the Opposition is out to fight him!
Manmohan Singh is seen in Parliament, leaving with a brief case in hand, and getting into an Ambassador car and heading to the Ministry of Finance.
A politician tells the camera that the entire government is sleeze-full and that the BJP is justified in asking for the resignation of the Congress PM. Papers are brought into Parliament House in bundles, as evidence, or for discussions. Programme department papers. Renuka Choudhary is also interviewed on camera. "I'm quite tired of the BJP giving us the national agenda. I think the PM should continue. There is a process."
Jagmohan also arrives in Parliament. Was he the Governor of Delhi then?
One of the sitting members of Parliament has charged the Prime Minister of taking money. This is a clear case of corruption. The leader of the Congress party is directly involved. This is very serious. On moral grounds, we are seeking his resignation. S K Jain has said that the PM is involved in the Hawala case also (the Jain Hawala case diaries). The Supreme Court has directed the CBI to take action, however high the person may be.

One thing is clear from this video that before liberalization ambassador and maruti 800 was dominating Indian roads , the sound of shutting the door was excellent
