    I bought this exact same model about 2 &1/2 years ago. I built a mobile table for it though. I haven’t used mine quite as much as you, but I have definitely put it to work. No complaints so far. I get accurate cuts every time, minus user error.
    I caught the same deal you did and bought it for $325. The next closest brands were $500 and up. I don’t depend on it for my livelihood, I am just a DIY guy. I have used it at least twice a month on weekends since I bought it. So for $325 it has been a bargain.
    Harbor Freight definitely has sold some cheap products before, but with the Hercules they stepped up, while staying affordable.

    Not 3". That is why there is an adjustment screw on the red hair line indicator. Just loosen the screw and make it exact. I did that with my Craftsman, still always check with a ruler, but it is dead on now.

    5:04 I've got a porter cable job saw like that i use my spliter/riving knife, one day i was cutting up a larger glue up panel about 24" wide between the fence and blade, without realizing holding near the fence ( no table support at the fence at that time) as the part passed over the void my right hand pushed down over thin air, had the riving knife not been on the saw i could have been seriously hurt from kickback. I didnt expect that.
    Im 63 and have ran many of table saws from age 7 all types of machines from big printing presses to lathes and mills.
    All machines have a learning curve
    The adjustable side wing on these saws give a false since of security
    Use the riving knife it only takes one tiny error to take off 3 fingers.

      Make an imaginary plane at the front of the blade. Your fingers should never go past that plane. I learned that from my father, whose grandfather lost 2 finger tips on the table saw my dad used. I've never had a problem finding some kind of push board to go past the blade instead of my fingers. "Accidents" are caused be taking short cuts to save time. Accidents in quotes because they are not accidental. They are causemental.

    I have the Compound Sliding Miter Saw, got it for $299.00 regular price is $ 399.00. Its just Awesome.
    I use it mostly Bluebird Nesting Boxes from Cedar.
    Hercules has a Miter Table saw stand, that thing is Stout and Stupid Strong.
    I've never thought much of Harbor Freight, but this company is not where you grandfather used to shop.
    There customer services in Brunswick , Georgia , is over the top.
    If you miss a sale/coupon, talk politely to the manager, I think he may make an override for you.
    Yes Sir, Please and Thank You. So as you walk out the store, with the item, at the sale price, you may see the person being disrespectful, that will be leaving paying the off sale price, speak to them, Oh, by the way, have a nice Day, while smiling.

    I have two questions why do you measure off of the top of the blade and not the starting point for accuracy and why do you not set your indicator to the right position to save time in measuring every time

    • @CopperBarnHomestead
      @CopperBarnHomestead  11 місяців тому +1

      Hi thanks for watching and your comment. This jobsite table saw is awesome. It is not made for extreme accuracy like a cabinet makers table saw would be. For us it is close enough. Measuring from the blade to the fence squeezes the most accuracy it can attain out of it. Setting the guide with it’s thick line and that it doesn’t precisely lock on at exactly 90 degrees again is good enough but to get the most precision you can out of this saw measuring the actual distance from the cutting edges of the blade to the fence front and back will give you better results imo. It is a great saw and we have used it to finish everything in our house but it is still just an inexpensive jobsite saw. Thanks again, have a great day and be safe!

  • @bobbg9041

    The reason the fence tape measure is always off, is you change blades then you also have to adjust the red line on your fence to match the blade you have on the saw.
    The motor spindle on that saw could be on the left of your blade away from the fence, or on the same side as the fence, a left tilt blade or right tilt blade simply going from a rio blade to a thin kerf blade changes your fence pointer measurements to the blade on the saw.
    What i don't see you using is the riving knife, a kickback can do serious harm to you and things in the shop, even if you dont use the safty blade guard use the riving knife.

    • @CopperBarnHomestead
      @CopperBarnHomestead  10 місяців тому

      Thanks for watching and your comment. The riving knife is stock on this saw and still in place as purchased. The only thing missing here is the blade guard. Thanks, have a great day and be safe.

  • @jingles791
    @jingles791 Рік тому +2

    they manufacture it so that you need to add the kerf of the blade! Hence you want 3" add 1/8" for kerf( the width of saw blade) red line at 3 1/8"

    Thank you for your review. I have 2 questions please. 1. You mentioned the gauge on the fence was 1/8" off. Can the gauge be adjusted? 2. I bought a Dewalt DWE7480 10" exactly 5 years ago. I am a DIY and only use it on some weekends. Only about 3 years later, I started finding it harder and harder reeling the wheel to raise up/down the blade. It got a bit better after I opened the gear compartment to clean it. It happened again one to two more times afterwards. Just today, the blade simply stopped moving at all and I could not feel any fiction on turning the wheel. Apparently, something was broken. I think it's time for me to replace this table saw now. I am considering this Hercules table saw as I happened to find it's on sale for $319 (last day). I'd like to know if you have found this similar problem with this saw in your 3-year usage. Thanks!

    • @CopperBarnHomestead
      @CopperBarnHomestead  Рік тому +1

      Hi, thank you for watching and your comment. The fence gauge is adjustable and you could get it very close with a little effort. If you need an exact measurement I would still recommend measuring off the fence to the blade edge directly (with the saw off obviously lol). Your other question it sounds like the gear that moves the blade has moved away from the gear that actually moves the saw blade up and down. It may be a simple keeper that came off but I’m not sure. We have not had any issues with the blade crank on our saw. It is always good to vacuum or clean the sawdust out from under the saw before putting it away for any long storage or at the end of a project. We are very happy with our saw and that sounds like a great price. We think you will like it but as always YMMV. Good luck! Have a great day and be safe!

    When you get it set to what size you wanna cut move the guide red line to the number by loosening the Philips screw that holds it on

    • @CopperBarnHomestead
      @CopperBarnHomestead  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for watching and the comment. Good tip, that will get it much closer for sure. If you need an exact measurement I would still measure off the fence with a tape. I wouldn’t really trust a single phillips screw on a piece of plexiglass doing precision work. Thanks again, have a great day and be safe!

    • @CopperBarnHomestead

      We haven’t tried to add a dado stack. The saw didn’t come with a wider plate needed for the stack. We assume it would hold the stack but you would need an aftermarket plate.
