i played the whole game of fallout new vegas at 8k on my lg evo oled 98 inch running on my rtx 4090 i9 -14900k (i ran it at 50 fps on my gt 710 on a 900p monitor running 720p)
Running at 600fps is pointless, even if your display supports it because human vision just isn't that good. Anything over 165Hz is rapidly diminishing returns. Also, while not an issue with Hit and Run with a frametime variance of about 1ms. Running unlocked in a modern game is going to result in a broad variation in frametimes. This will spoil your performance in an esports title far more than running at a steady, consistent 60fps.

We need a remake of this game. A UA-camr made one in unreal engine but he's not allowed to release it. Whoever has the Simpsons' rights should hire that guy, release the game and take our money.

You can play Tomb Raider 2013 on Low with over 1000 FPS with a 3070. And yeah, the physics are broken and you can die somewhat easily from missing jumps.
There is a mod launcher for this, with more graphics options if you wanted to check those out. Aswell as restoring some missing things which were on other consoles, like on the hover car translucent effect. It's built into the launcher, aswell as DX9 support. Nvidia fake HDR works aswell if you use DXVK

Next time when you're trying out an old DX8 or DX9 game, try using DXVK to check how that affects the performance. Modern hardware probably has better support for Vulkan, rather than early 2000's APIs (especially in 16K) ;)
I love these ridiculously good pc vs old game comparisons like this and the San andreas one you did. It's like the complete other end of the spectrum to the usual new game vs older hardware.

Just running this game with a heavy super sample at any res makes it look really good, and you can do it with any GPU. Lucas mod launcher made my game run like trash though.

A way you could have possibly gotten some information in 16k might have been bringing up the Nvidia overlay. I know it wouldn't have everything the Afterburner one would, but.
BorderlessGaming should fix the windowed-only issue. Also, I don't know if you did that but set the display resolution first to 16K and after that the game resolution to 16K.

I can see that it uses dx8, not that long ago dxvk a directx to vulkan layer got updated to support directx 8, I wonder what difference if any that would make.
You could have used Xbox performance overlay, it always works when the driver osd fails. Just press Win + G.. now I am left wondering what fps it was running at when in 16k leaving me undecided whether to buy a 4090 super or not :(

This game looks great with ReShade "ray tracing" shaders, though it is a bit tricky to set up. It also looks quite cool with cel-shading.
DXVK 2.4 runs well nicely on this classic & gain more performance too. I bet on that hardware it will fly even more haha.

You could also limit FPS in Nvidia Control Panel, you don't need external programs for it. Same goes for AMD cards, use Adrenalin.
