    I would like to see how you have it on the back right before hanging to see how you have it all secured. Is it battery or a wall plug for it behind the art or picture??

    you must have had an outlet behind the art? Have you ever done the same with a battery operated set up?

    Fantastic video. Thank you. Could I do this on a plexiglass panel that I have resin painted? I’d like the light to shine through my resin art..if that makes sense.

    • @seandee9480
      @seandee9480 Рік тому

      Thanks lowfat! You can backlight plexiglass, however I would recommend pouring your resin into a form and backlight the resin. Plexi + resin is going to kill your lumen output and the light may not diffuse through both the plexi AND resin. I bet it would still look pretty cool though.

    How do you power the LED strip without needing to plug it into a wall outlet? I didn’t see a cord hanging down so I just assumed.

      There is an electrical outlet on the wall behind the art piece. The original plan was a flex space above the desk for a TV, art piece or projector screen.

    Is it possible to just line the inside of a wood frame with the strip light only? I’m using battery strip

    • @seandee9480
      @seandee9480 Рік тому

      you could, I chose to use the plastic channel to create the even gap between the wall and the fixture that the light can shine outward. if you just go straight to the frame it would still reflect out, but wont throw the light as far and you would need a way to get that even wall gap

  • @reyna0137

    • @seandee9480

    Hello nice job, I was wondering if there’s a way to hide the cords in the back of the frame, from showing when you hang them up if the plug-in is say a few feet away? I have tried the LED lite framed posters but when I hang it up the cords from the LED lights hang out from the bottom I would like for them not to show.
    Thank You
    Andre’

    • @seandee9480
      @seandee9480 Рік тому

      Hi andre, if the plug is a few feet away the only way to hide the wiring from the transformer is to fish it through the drywall. However you would only be able to fish the wire vertically doe to the in-wall framing. you could fish the wire straight down and run an extension cord along the floor if that hides it better.

    The power must be coming from somewhere does the picture itself cover the outlet? My problem is there is no where got me to be getting power. I live in a condominium I haven’t asked but my guess is management would would frown on me making a hole in wall and altering electrical. I have no experience with electricity I would need to hire an electrician to do the work. But in my favor the opposite side of wall is my bedroom closet with a light switch directly on the opposite side of wall. Do you have any suggestions or alternative ideas for providing power for lighting?

    • @seandee9480
      @seandee9480 Рік тому

      Hey John. Unfortunately if you are limited by your lease terms/management there are LED tape light options that are battery powered and controllable. Batteries can be cumbersome to maintain and troubleshoot but if you have a few spares on hand, you should be able to do everything I did installation-wise but with a battery powered LED product.

      @@seandee9480 That’s what I’ve decided to try a battery powered strip light. The piece of art has a diameter of 84” that would require….what 80” of LED tape. I have no experience doing this, as for the power source. If I get a choice I’d want something with the lowest profile making the picture to lay close to wall 9v in parallel with this type of load how many batt’s would I need to keep it well lit for 5 hrs. What’s your guess on how long the batteries would last. This is getting expensive as you know 9v batteries are not cheap. You’re probably getting sick of my questions so I’ll experiment and find out. THANKS FOR THE INSPIRATION!

Have you heard the story of Elon Musk he didn’t get lucky he was inspired to do what he’s done. Just like the other people that have become successful.
