By the way, as a planty creator I say that a lot “not going to bore you guys”, but the truth is if your into plants and watching UA-cam videos on it there is NO SUCH THING as boring….so just remember that as your editing. I love this stuff! 😅😂🎉
Anthurium loves moisture, so I do recommend putting more Tree Fern in your mix and around the aroids. I think I may share some of that in my videos, but I don’t always record those videos either as I am not an expert at all. Just like you learning as I grow!
They sure do. I ran into a few issues with how much fern I was using for my outdoor plants i scaled it back and relied on the chips which seem to do a bit better with tons of rainfall etc
New subbie here 😊 Thanks for sharing your potting mix. Your collection is impressive and I appreciate your candidness regarding all stages of your plant journey.
Love the video! Definitely a learning process, a process that we love to go through. I would love to have perfect plants but that’s not happening! Rehabbing is so much fun and very rewarding! Thanks for the link for the large clear pots! Keep the videos coming!
Tree Fern fiber as well as pafcal for about 2 years now, and they both have changed the game for my potting mix. Pafcal is expensive, but I refuse to live without it. I'm new to your channel, or I would have put you on game a while ago. Everyone has times when their plants get stressed from lack of attention because, as you said, we all have lives to live. I wouldn't have addressed the trolls. Congrats on your new baby. This was a great post. Also, am I the only one who puts bat guano in my potting mix? Your shade house is FIRE!
Thank you for watching! You hustle game me two new ingredients to look into!! 🙌🏾 I’ve never heard of either until this comment 🫨 yea trolls gona troll 😂 wanted to make it clear that this channel is about growth and learning 💪🏾 ty for sharing and the well wishes! Nice to meet you 🌱🤌🏾
@LordSaint_ Bat Guano is bat poop and nitrogen rich. Pafcal, I would say, are spongy nuggets that retain moisture without being soggy around plant roots. I only use it in my aroid mix for my imported Monstera and Philodendron cause. Like I said, it's expensive and hard to find. I got it on Amazon last year and bought 6 bags. It was a games changer for my Thai Cons and Albos last year. Been using the bat guano for about 7 years now. Great job on the channel.
Love mixing Tree fern with Fluval to get stronger root growth on smaller plants. I mixed that Fernwood brand with PON and I will never do that again. That stuff rotted so I decided to mix PON with extra pumice to lighten it. Mixing tree fern fiber with other ingredients to fluff it up is great for repotting.
New sub here too! I try to make it easy on myself, so I buy Molly’s Aroid Mix, Tree Fern Fiber and Bonsai Jack Grit and mix the 3 together for my potting mix. The Anthurium, Philodendron, Monstera’s and Alocasia’s are all in it and seem to love it. Your collection is gorgeous!! I am slowly growing my channel too.
Woah, you should prop that plant by air layering it with spag around the crown. I always put spag at the top of my two Anthuriums and they love that stuff.
@@LordSaint_ You should but make sure it is loose. I use the brand Premium New Zealand Sphagnum Moss, 150g (12L When Hydrated) Brand. Very clean, and long strands. You will not be sorry. It holds humidity and gives the stalk something to hold on and root into.
Would this work for all indoor plants. I have pothis, Alocasia Polly, monstereo, and a geo that I have out on my shaded porch but I’m gonna move them inside when the fall comes and I do not wanna take the soil that I have them planted in now inside my house because it is a moisture retaining mixture and it brings gnats and I cannot live in my house!!!
Speaking of neglect.....If I get busy with life and suddenly notice some potted plants not doing so hot, then discover ants have fully moved IN, what is the best way to get rid of ants and keep them out? It feels like I have to evict them multiple times per year. 🥵🐜🐜 Thank you for all of your teaching & preaching!! 🌱
@@puzhao1639 There could be a variety of reasons. I’d add some more ingredients… Perlite, pumice, bark etc to allow more air flow. I grow outside and don’t have any issues with root rot.

Very good point haha. I guess it’s hard to believe people want to hear us ramble about plants 😂😅
How am I just now finding out about your page?!?
Your plants are GORGEOUS
And congrats to you and your wife on your babies! God bless!💚💚
Welcome!! That’s my fault, I’ve been a bit inconsistent because of life 😅😅 but I’m glad you’re here now!!

Always a calming, enlightening experience chief. Keep 'em comin'!

I've never thought to mix tree Fern fibers with fluval. I mix fluval with perlite for propagating. Thanks for putting me on.
@@aeneasgilmore9403 sounds like an experiment I’m down to try as well! I normally mix fluval with perlite

Glad you enjoyed it!
I’d love to see your pest management strategy!! I’m growing in north Central FL but otherwise very similar conditions.
lol I've been wanting to try tree fern. it's been in my Amazon cart forever 🌿
It's so good! I’m mad i didn’t try it sooner!
❤❤❤❤❤
Great video!! I've recently started using shade cloth because of the hot weather in Houston. What size is the pot in the video?
Honestly don’t know lol. I’ll have to check next time i put an order in. It was a last minute grab last time i went shopping for supplies

🤣🤣🤣 Deal!
You have a list of all the items in the mix
Orchiata, perlite, coco chips, charcoal, tree fern. Some items can be found in my Amazon storefront. Link in the summary. Thanks for watching 🌱🤌🏾
Lol
Where do you purchase your large clear pots from
I left the link in the bio of this video 🌱🤌🏾 Thanks for watching!!
I use pure coco chips, but there are still root rot, I wonder if I watered too much.
just coco chips? nothing else?
do you have drain holes with your pots? drill some more on the bottom and sides
@@hungryalien Yes, there are a lot of holes, now I think it could be the high temperature.
