i have a 1990 RS which is the 3.1L 6cyl i was wondering if i were to swap a basic 350 chevy oorr a basic LS1 corvette engine i think they are.. dont i need to change out the transmission aswel because the stock trans cant handle that additional power all of a sudden? i dont even know what the trans is i dont think its 700r4 those were in irocs
Absolutely beautiful Camaro. Subbed because of it one of my favorite generations of Camaro besides 1st gen. I was around 7 years old when this body came out and I've always thought they looked great. Nice car man.
Nice Camaro and it looks tastefully done, but I'd change the emblems on the wheel's center caps to something different since your car isn't a Trans Am. I don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet, but the LT1's horsepower is rated at 275 if it came from a Camaro or Trans Am with stock exhaust manifolds. With the headers, it's probably around 290 - 300 horsepower. There's one thing that the LT1 totally conquers the LS motors in and that's the exhaust note that it produces. The LT1 produces such a glorious deep and throaty rumble that's hard to beat! Depending on your horsepower goals, I'd just keep the motor you already have and build it... that's what I did. I have a '97 WS6 Trans Am that I purchased brand-new back in 1997. I had my LT1 stroked to a forged 383, cammed and went with competition CNC ported 195 AFR LT4 Heads, got rid of the Opti Spark and went with a TorqHead 24x ignition system. Never had any problems with the Opti, but getting the car tuned is almost next to impossible, especially when you deviate from stock. Anyhoooo... looking forward to seeing your car with a rear spoiler on it. Have fun building your car!
i have a lt1 in my 82 it fits good i recommend a/c relocation kit from bowersrod shop a/c compressor sits on right side low and mounts it top left side
Back when I was a teen in the late 90s I owned a 83 camaro that was a z28 swap. It had a factory v6 changed out for a 305 tpi and someone put a 5speed in it with a posi rear end. Funnest car I ever owned. Beat the dog snot out of it and it just wouldn't break. I finally lost it on the freeway in the rain and put it in a barrier LOL But I had on hell of a time in that car. I would love to build a car like yours. Thanks for sharing.
Would you put those rims on a GTO or a 69 Chevelle? I'm was a GM mechanic and i strived to keep my car "looking" stock,(this is important because every year the car gets older these mods lower the value and collectability) I do believe i might have the only 90 IROC that has not been butchered < 15 years ago i remember EVERY one i worked on or looked at was like this, all fucked up,(to make it a race car) Luckily one of my fellow mechanics had one that had been kept all original, I built a strong motor and puked 2 transmissions, THANK GOD, Because of that i was forced to put the car away 15 years ago because i was too broke to build or buy a decent trans, that is what ended up saving me from driving it all these years, now that most are dead, Im bringing mine home from a long long nap!
It's screaming for an LS2. They're pretty cheap now and with the right clutch, the T56 will hold it. You'll be adding 170 hp and removing 200lbs, it the rest of the driveline will tolerate it.
Nice 3rd Gen! I want to buy it from you or at least your specs & parts information, so I can build one like yours. This video was truly Inspirational. Thank you for sharing your story about this gorgeously-looking Third Gen.
Nice ride bud to fix your T tops get some 1/4 vacuum line and some lube I used red grease and make a small cut near the bottom of T top seal and feed line in and puffs old smashed seals back to life helps to rub petroleum on as well 3rd gens with t.p.i twist the body bad but the 4th gens don't leak luckily hope it works for ya
Looks nice, They make frame stiffeners that bolt on under the car. between the uni-body and front frame and really help to stiffen up a lot those year cars. keep up the great work she's getting there... cya W3BZ
IROC Z came with the tune port 5.7 from the factory 87-89 but was only offerd with 700r4 so that engine swap would be a no brainer and the T56 I'm sure bolts right up. My older brother bought a red 89 IROC Z 5.7 tune port in like 92 I remember thinking that car was so fast until i seen it run a high 14 second 1/4 mile
Nice job on the car! I like all the personal touches I love gold wheels but maybe not with red paint. I've had two of those body styles but nothing that mean. Don't worry everyone I've also had a fewmustangs.
Very cool car! I love the look of it. Only thing which I personally would change is the rear end. They stick just a tad to much out of the fender but besides that, love it! Kind regards from Switzerland from a 88 TA GTA driver!
Hey Alex not sure if you answered this question already somewhere along the comments but can you tell me the name of the guy u got the gas cap from thanks in advance
Alex Proakis I think you may not understand cause u said u got it from a guy on instagram but if I'm wrong correct me but if that not the case how much would u charge to make one
"maybe $1000 'cause it's a 3rd gen..." it's great to see someone who ACTUALLY loves their car, I know EXACTLY how you feel. f the haters, you're doing it right!
Lots of people in the comments have asked (as I did at first) as to what the intro song is. I Googled the lyrics... "Middle Fingers" by Missio. The car is baddass BTW.. 👍👍🇺🇲
dude you need to cut that shit out with the project cars arent reliable. i daily my 86 z28 project car and have done so reliably for the last 5 years since i got her. if your good at workin on cars they will be reliable. i swapped in an ls1 and t56 and a 4th gen rearend custom exhaust all done by me and she has been completely reliable no issues. project cars aren't reliable when people workin on them suck at it and cut corners. just sayin man whoever your getting that info from is wrong
Exactly man, whoever says project cars aren't reliable either aren't that auto savvy, or are getting fucked over by whoever the hell is blowing smoke up their ass and doing the work. And I know having the work done compared to doing it yourself and knowing it's right price wise is WAY cheaper and extremely reliable in the long run. Shit mechanics, doing shit work, results in a shit money pit. None of my project cars are money pits, aside from the invoice from Summit/Jegs or the swap meet when I am getting what i need together and go overboard on occasion but that's part of making it what I want one time purchases not a money pit of cobbled together shit someone else did. I'm of the opinion that use the money you would use to buy a new car to get your dream car like this and make it what you want for WAY less than some over priced shitbox off the dealer lot. He complains of no a/c, why not throw on a/c? I just look at the sticker prices of new cars and could build everything I would want as far as performance and creature comforts multiple times over for what some new WAY over priced car would run me. And It would end up being cheaper in the long run as far as keep up, and end up with something I enjoy that doesn't have me getting raped at the dealership for every little thing that goes wrong until the kinks are worked out.
You didn't body work them in and paint that car for $200 (narrowing is about $400 from what Moser quoted me). I can't argue with the cool factor though.

Roaming Goats Just one of those rarely used words anymore more. Figured I would answer that one. No hate though my dude. I love that camaro, she's ridiculously clean.

Back when I was a teen in the late 90s I owned a 83 camaro that was a z28 swap. It had a factory v6 changed out for a 305 tpi and someone put a 5speed in it with a posi rear end.

What kind of sparco seats are those I just bought the same year Camaro and I was gonna build it exactly like this
when you sat the ttops leak, do they drip on you or does the carpet just get wet?
I always thought it was impossible to make these look good. Wow man, nice job!
Would you put those rims on a GTO or a 69 Chevelle? Always wanted one of these! Thing looks boss dude. The look, stance, and shape of these cars to me is just mint. 👌🏻

what's the drop on it?
Nice job on the car! I like all the personal touches I love gold wheels but maybe not with red paint. I've had two of those body styles but nothing that mean. Don't worry everyone I've also had a fewmustangs.
Awesome so you recommend the wide body kit?

Your Camaro is outstanding. Well done.
Lots of people in the comments have asked (as I did at first) as to what the intro song is. I Googled the lyrics... "Middle Fingers" by Missio. The car is baddass BTW.. 👍👍🇺🇲
is that black corrugated plastic glued to the bottom of your aero package,i liked it at first until i seen it up close.it looks ratty?
Who sings the song in the beginning?
Do you have the link for the gas cap you used. Love the look.
That was my dream car at one point. The only one I found was black but the guy never sold. So I went with a Mustang 5.0. This is a very nice car bro.
What song is that in the beginning?

I always love some good looking honey combs / snowflakes. What is it called for those particular rims?
That Maro is awesome!! I'm so down for it !!!

Install frame connectors, use them as a jacking support.

So clean I thought it was a AC car in the intro.
What would you ask for it if selling?
Roaming Goats I couldn't go to 10 seeing as I'm in CO, but I definitely think you could that.
anyone know the name of those wheels? and do the come in 4x114.3 😍😍😍
do you have like the "model" of them, like a specific name
nice stuff, i see some potential for an awesome youtube channel, subbed!
Absolutely love it great job
what kind of wheels they look so 😍😍plz
I like this 3rd gen . looks good to me . I would have went with different wheels though . still nice though .
I'm curious why you didn't just narrow the rear? It's not that expensive.
You didn't body work them in and paint that car for $200 (narrowing is about $400 from what Moser quoted me). I can't argue with the cool factor though.
There is a woodpecker living in your camera. BTW, project cars don't suck..... Its a great driving game...
Spectre is like +40hp on a 2.0L Honda motor im surprised only +30hp on a Chevy 350
jrbbikerx jrbbikerx no it's not
jrbbikerx jrbbikerx stop it now
Jrbbikerx jrbbikerx is the type of dude to think that decals add hp
Sweet ride dude! I am working on a 94 SS S10 trying to save up for the LS3 swap.
Today a droll and less charismatic Rob Spaghetti wannabe tried to tell us something but he was too boring to complete the video.

Ae86 i guess that nickname 'roaming goats ' is gonna stay, lol, geez
the gayest thing about it is the black corregated plastic shit glued on the bottom of the aero package
My mother taught me, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything.. Nice car.
Looks amazing.
lt1 is a good engine any time you get a car like that its gonna be a money pit so you should do what you like I like this body style
I like the trans am, firebird, firehawk, but I like the Camaro better, eversince my eyes caught on to the Camaro, very long ago.

very very very awkward, UA-cam is not your thing man LoL. nice car tho
Those Year One's are the shit.
The Predator is watching you. I keep hearing him in the background. I figured you'd be able to see him with those infrared goggles on. Anyway, I had an 86 IROC in 1988. Liked it alot at the time, but I'd never go back. I like the sound you're sporting though. Mine never sounded that good, even after exhaust mods
cool Z! CLEAN! I subbed!
Needs a NASCAR looking deck lid spoiler; That car SICK ASS FUCK!
NICE WHEELS GREAT SOUND
Stock LT1 are rated 300hp Sir
Depends what year and application. Most were 250 hp
the 95 lt1 was rated at 278hp and 325 ft-lbs of torque at least thats what my T/A puts out
Greg Wilczynski The lt1 was never rated at 250. The ones in the Vette were rated at 300, later ones in the Ws6 and SS were 305. I don't know where this guy gets 250 from. Add in that he has full exhaust and he's prolly around 320 at the crank. I bet he's around 240/250 rwhp. Somewhere around there.
I think it looks amazing without the wing!
