Pressure Canned Milk - 1 YEAR UPDATE - Tasting (I’m Still Alive!)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- This is a 1 year update for the milk I pressure canned in October 2021.
In this video I will give a visual prior to shaking it, smell it and then taste it.
HOME CANNING MILK IS NOT APPROVED so If you’re going to do this please do your research before hand.
I typically pressure can milk for 15 minutes though in the past I have used 10 minute and 13 minute processing times.
While I’m satisfied with the results after processing for 15 minutes, I have been tempted to do a 20 minute processing time and may do this at some point in time.
Kindly give my video a like and drop a comment below and subscribe. It really helps my channel.
I thank you you for watching☺️

Good afternoon Brenda! It was 2%! Thanks for asking that question! Lol I always miss some sort of info in a video 😆 Thanks for watching!
I’ve pinned your comment! I think it’s important for viewers to know the answer to your question! 🌺
Looks great to me! I can’t wait to use mine.
Hey girl, have not been around in YT recently but love your channel to see your hauls especially your buys from resale shops.
I did however read a comment over on FB about canning milk. The man said he PC milk even though it isn't approved the difference is he does not set his jars down into the water he lifts with an extra steam tray and the round canning rings to lift them up. Now he says by lifting jars above water line it does not take the milk into a regular can milk taste but keeps it tasting like normal refrigerated milk. I kind of talked to you before about canning milk the same as you, me going for 10-15 minutes. I hope I explained this as he did. Next time I'm gonna give his way a go. Not that I have anything against regular can milk other than the price nowadays. I think buying a gallon of milk and canning it is less than buying it canned.

I just opened a jar of my milk after a year and I'm using it for coffee. looked just like yours. I'm glad to have it. Its more like can milk, but for cooking and coffee it's perfect.
Good evening Stacy and thanks for sharing your experience! I’m glad to have it as well and I will be canning more very soon! Thanks for watching and dropping a comment🌸
Thank you for sharing and yes I have canned milk and tasted it. My canned milk tasted similar to evaporated milk.
Hi Maria you are most welcome and thanks for sharing your experience. I agree with you that it tastes like evaporated milk albeit the texture is thinner. I thank you for watching 🌺
Thank you
You're welcome and thanks for watching 🙂
Great! I just canned a second batch this morning.😊 I want to get more on my shelves! Thank you for being our Guinea pig! Lol I knew it would work out fine.🐹 I've done butter before and it was fine after 4 years. I want to do ghee next and I haven't canned it or made it before.
Hi GreenEyedFlower! Glad to hear you canned milk this morning! I’m ready to can more myself😊 I haven’t done butter in a while myself. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment I really appreciate it. Lol happy to be the Guinea pig!
Yes Ma'am and yes I am and will continue canning my milk. I know it is NOT approved but hey, I like it, it taste fine, no funny off smells, and I go thur it, Cheaper than buying canned milk from the store. I make it cause I saw you do this and ever since I have my shelfs stocked with this wonderful stuff. Hint or a tip, use smooth sided jars, they cleans up so much better.
Hi Teresa! In times like this it’s so important to have a stocked pantry! I will (like you) will continue to pressure can milk! One year later and it’s totally fine😋 I thank you for watching, appreciate your comment and wish you a wonderful evening. Happy canning 😊🌺
Yes, I particularly like canning half and half because usually for recipes I only need either a half cup or a cup. It saves me from wasting the rest of a container, therefore saving my money as well. Also it's much more convenient to grab it off my shelf than buying it every time I want it. I do have canned milk too but I don't care for the super sweet flavor. In a pinch I tend to just use powdered milk.
Once again, I've been waiting for this update. I still have my milk that I canned after your video. It is still holding up. I was given 2 gallons a few months ago so I canned it in half pints. So now I have quarts, pints, and half pints of milk. Thank you for sharing. I can't wait until you do another update in 6 more months. Also, thank you for your HUMANITARIAN work!!!!
Good afternoon bofinkley! Thanks for your kind comments and I will indeed be doing more updates😉
Glad your milk is still holding it! It is indeed a useful item to have on the pantry shelf! Thanks for watching🙂
Thanks for sharing. I too have canned milk for just about a year. The results are exactly like you have experienced.
Hi Sheryl thanks for sharing your experience and I thank you for watching 😊
I have pressure canned milk 15 min processing and very pleased. Have used for coffee, tea, gracias. Curry and alfredo sauces, mashed taters With winter knocking on the door in the next week I will be adding to my supply to see us thru storms and shut downs again this year
I love the way you say gon instead of going to. ❤
Lol thanks E Wood and thank-you for watching ☺️
Hi Michele! So great to see you. I've missed you. I don't drink milk, but it's awsome that you enjoy yours after a year. Love your hair. So pretty. Happy Autumn! 🧡
Hi Mary Happy Sunday! Have missed you as well❤️💐Thanks for the kind compliment re the hair lol. When I first did it is was a little more vivid than I had imagined lol. Will take it down a notch next time. Still, I’m loving it! Thanks for watching Mary 💐

Tomorrow I will buy a couple gallons of 2% milk and can it. I do not eat cereal often, but with shelf stabile milk I can have a bowl of cereal and re-vacuum seal the cereal bag to keep it fresher longer.
How did your canning session go? 🙂 thanks for watching 🙂
Happy Sunday 🥀
Hi Lois Happy Sunday to you as well and thanks for watching 😊
gives me inspiration to do it
Hi Cindy glad to hear! I thank you for watching and commenting☺️🌸

Wow good to see you makeing video again wow red hair you look good I am a few months behind but whatever I will try that once I get a chance because I can't have regular milk I can have almond milk and oat milk but no regular milk
Hi Danielle let me know how it works out! Thanks for the compliment re the hair lol! ☺️
I've been using my canned milk for over a year at this point az well .. however I don't process forcthat long.. I simply bring up to pressure az normal and then shut off the heat .. so the milk goes through the heating process .. coming to pressure and then cooling ..
My milk iz much closer to its natural color .. not az yellow az yours appears on video .. and it tastes absolutely fine ..
I also pc heavy cream the same way ..
Still breathing 😊 ..
Thanks for the update 😀

...ummm, have you been taking gorgeous pills? tsk tsk tsk.
Lol thanks for the compliment Dahveed 🤣
@@allsorts4041 So after having got passed the distractions from 0:30 to 1:33 I do have a question. When storing your canned milk what temperatures was the product subjected to over the course of 1 year? Have you an idea what the max. temp might have been? I may have other questions but I'm still recovering from the distraction of 5:36 to 6:18.
What's the longest time you've had this on your shelf and can you use it for anything? Thank you
Hi Carmen one year is the longest to date. I plan to save my two remaining jars from that batch to do future updates! Typically I use this in coffee, oatmeal, hot chocolate, and to Alfredo tot mac and cheese. Will add it where milk is asked for in recipes. Thanks for watching ☺️
Did you use Raw milk for your test?
No it was store bought as raw milk is not available to me. Thanks for watching g and taking the time to ask 🙂
What was the little thing you used to open it?
Hi Victoria good afternoon! I’m not sure if it has an official term but it is a combination of a bottle cap remover and wine bottle plug. I purchased it at value village in a bag of other items. Thanks for watching ☺️
