They are insanely smart it's almost scary! They can open jars and everything. I read an article one time about a pet store that kept having fish go missing but nobody was breaking in so they set up cameras and their octopus had figured out the schedules at night and was climbing out of his tank and walking across the store to the fish tanks and eating all night and then 30 minutes before someone came to open the store it would go back to its tank. And it was always 30 minutes. Never an hour, or 10 minutes. 30 minutes every single time. They ended up setting up a tank of fish strictly for him lol
You can actually tell by looking at their 3rd arm on the right side. Males will not have suckers all the way to the tip, and the arm will be curled at the end of all females. It’ll look like any of the other octopus arms.

Why? The octopus is a carnivore, and if you where dead in the ocean and it was hungry it wouldn’t think twice before eating your corpse. Everything in this world needs to compete for resources, even plants kill each other to make space for themselves. And thats not even mentioning octopus are cannibals, the female eats the male for energy to protect the eggs, then once the eggs hatch they eat the mom.
