This song, this version is all about drums and bass. Mullen leading the way. Clayton locked in. The gravitational pull gets Edge and Bono. Masterpiece!!!
When Bono screams "Even the hands of love!" and the band explodes, it's just breathtaking. Sometimes I forget how great U2 is, take them for granted. This performance is a good reminder.
No cheap gimmicks just the band, some light effects and Bono's amazing vocals! The charisma he has on stage, lord help me at Bono's peak was second to none except Mick Jagger or Jim Morrison.
+Michael Hathaway Peak?? Since Rattle and Hum there have been songs like ONE, BEAUTIFUL DAY, VERTIGO and EVERY BREAKING WAVE, just four of the many excellent tunes which have come in the last twenty five years.
+Karl O'Connor Vertigo is an awful song. I think it's called All That You Can't Leave Behind, that was their last good album. Just my opinion, of course.
What a brilliant group. They are the only group i know of that can make live concert music sound better than the studio one.this is a very difficult thing to achieve and U2 do it with ease.Loved the joshua tree tour.
+Brenner The Plane Stick in. I started playing the guitar when I was 14. Sadly lost the tendons in my left hand have not been able to play for 15yrs now. Could not have chosen a better band to inspire you. Good luck on your musical journey.
Not even close to grunge. Even a few years afterwards, Bono said this quote during the early 90's ZOO TV tour in an interview in Tokyo, Japan: "and they're just leaving these white, comfortable, middle-class grunge kids behind"
@@OVI-Wan-Kenobi-8 mesmo indiretamente eles podem ter influenciado um pouco as bandas de Grunge sim... O U2 é uma das mais influentes bandas dos últimos 40 anos.
I absolutely adore the vocals in this song. The tone. The timbre. The range. The tempo. The peaks. The valleys... For my money this track showcases Bono’s voice better than any other song of theirs. There are few men in the history of rock that can pull this vocal off anywhere close to what he did here. There has never been a male rock vocalist not named Freddie Mercury who could touch his 1980s and 1990s vocals.
Songs like Exit and Bullet prove that when U2 want to, they can rock just as hard as any band on the planet. U2......one of the best bands of all time.
Passender Song.
When my uncle Max, he was a Marines ( master sgt.) he was in Beirut during the 80s Guarding the ex American embassy over there . On his way back on the US ship U2 played . I miss you Maxito.
I was straining to hear The Edge' guitar solo. This wasnt quite loud enough for me in my headphones. I enjoyed watching but i wanted more sound. I enjoyed the video n ty.
Zero debate. They are honestly the best band to ever be formed and have transcended time with excellent music. Beatles (gay), Stones, etc cannot compare at all!
Revisiting this channel after 5 years. I was reflecting on the Rattle and Hum. This is a Joshua Tree album song and I remember feeling a bit disappointed with that album. I think it was more because Joshua Tree was so polarizing and Rattle and Hum could not equal such a masterpiece. One short anecdote is that I went to see Rattle and Hum at my local movie theater in 1988. I went during the day and had the theater room that was playing this movie all for myself. I enjoyed it very much, especially this live performance of Exit which to this day it is one of my favorites to watch. This song to this day gives me goosebumps.
So hands that build Can also pull down The hands of love... Powerful lyrics, also one of the darkest, this is the most powerful song of U2,besides many others!
I have always loved this version but after viewing a handful of performances from other shows on this tour I am only re-affirmed of this one’s magic. The color one from Sun Devil Stadium is great as well.
This is so sped up, but God what a powerful song, U2 was in it's prime during this and Achtung Baby, which essentially was tye sound of The Joshua Tree being cut down, brilliant!
Who else agrees that is a shame that this song (among others) wasn't included in the Rattle and Hum album?
Completely agree...clearly it could have been the final song on the album.
not only that, it’d be the best song on the whole fucking album
Agreed this and bad or Sunday Bloody Sunday should’ve been on the album
They all should have been on the album.
A remastered boxset would be warranted for Fans. Some of there best ever live material.🎵🎵🎵😝🤘 The Tempe Concert and McNicols were great concerts.
THIS was when U2 was at THEIR BEST of ALL time!!! After Rattle and Hum, NOT so much!!! ❤ 80’-90’ early U2!!!
Actually 90's U2 was the best U2 with Achtung Baby being their best album!
This song, this version is all about drums and bass. Mullen leading the way. Clayton locked in. The gravitational pull gets Edge and Bono. Masterpiece!!!
Yea... Wasn't bad was it?!... 😂👌👌
I'm glad you notice that, too. Larry and Adam ensure they keep the right tempo. I hope Larry recoveries from his surgeries well.
When Bono screams "Even the hands of love!" and the band explodes, it's just breathtaking. Sometimes I forget how great U2 is, take them for granted. This performance is a good reminder.
Sometimes I forget, not how great U2 is, but how great U2 was.
They used to be great! Today they are dead!
People these days don't realize how good u2 were back then and no one could touch them for lyrics or performance awesome band
U2 was awesome band. I still love listening to the old u2 . They had some incredible albums. Joshua tree was the best album ever!!!
if they retired after pop, they’d probably have the case of being the best band of all time.
Im 50 and without any doubt my favourite band .....
One of the best and hardest instruments to control is the crowd and when a band/musician can do that, then you know you’ve got one heck of a group
I played my first professional gig a while ago so I didn’t know how to crowd control 😂
I love that dude! Well said.
U2 DEMANDS a performance unmatched, its u listen or leave!!
their absolute PEAK performance form. goosebumps everywhere
I watch this first when I was 12 now I'm 45 🙈 Still Goosebumps!! They were Astounding back then 💕
Awesome, just awesome, so much better than the studio version
Always thought the same, the speed, this drum so accelerated gives another touch to this huge track
2:45 Bono pretending to shred that guitar while Edge is making 105% of the sound.
If you look better you will see that he's trying to change some settings in the amplifier while he pretends to play that guitar...
Bono is playing rhythm, Edge is playing lead.
Bono doesn’t really know how to play guitar.. he’s a showman.. he’s giving us a show... and he used to be the best at it.
Bono is trying to figure out how to activate his guitar 😄
I was about 6 years old, it was New Year's Eve, and i was watching this concert with my dad. The best New Year's Eve in my life.
Filip Li love that
MAYBE I WAS 5 ALSO WHIT MY DAD
No cheap gimmicks just the band, some light effects and Bono's amazing vocals! The charisma he has on stage, lord help me at Bono's peak was second to none except Mick Jagger or Jim Morrison.
This is so powerful! This was U2's peak.
+Michael Hathaway Exactly, this was their peak.

Yes, but Rattle & Hum is the absolute best, I think anyways! Last couple of albums sucked. I wouldnt even buy them.
What a brilliant group. They are the only group i know of that can make live concert music sound better than the studio one.this is a very difficult thing to achieve and U2 do it with ease.Loved the joshua tree tour.
darren arnold Linkin Park. Alice In Chains. Metallica(back in the 90s)
Pearl jam is another one who does
INXS
try pearl jam and radiohead. but yeah, u2 is up there.
Pink Floyd has entered the chat
Edge is living my dream. I got time though, im 11, been playing guitar for a year and a half now.
Brenner Plaehn I EXPECT TO SEE YOUR NAME IN LIGHTS
Good lad keep at it
You've chosen the best. Be tough and smart, then you have a chance.
+Brenner The Plane Stick in. I started playing the guitar when I was 14. Sadly lost the tendons in my left hand have not been able to play for 15yrs now. Could not have chosen a better band to inspire you. Good luck on your musical journey.
Two words: Rhythm Emotion
This remains the best live performance of Exit on film, goosebumps from beginning to end. One of my fave songs.
Who's watching in 2019? Great Song..
Sabrina De Siero 2020!,
2020 here, fucking ROCK
The editing and cinematography in this is on point. Such energy and badassery.
tg72211 I know! It looks very cinematic. The black and white really adds something :)
4 musicians at the top of their game
Love the fact that Adam is the one who controls what happens next in this song, most of times. Like in 2:07.
He's just so awesome
Who's watching in 2019? Great Song..
Best song ever
1987 "EXIT": this is the beginning of "GRUNGE ROCK"
Not even close to grunge. Even a few years afterwards, Bono said this quote during the early 90's ZOO TV tour in an interview in Tokyo, Japan: "and they're just leaving these white, comfortable, middle-class grunge kids behind"

The angels breathed their rage into the lungs of Bono and their essence into the hands of The Edge!
if I could witness one song live I would really consider making it this one

Crowd control to its finest. When he lifts his arms during the Gloria snippet. Man they knew, and still know what they’re doing. Brilliance.

Love simple and powerfull bass of the Adam on this song
What a magnificent live version of Exit mixed with Gloria by Van Morrison
+1, one of their very best. Made me buy the movie 😎
This is real rock. Strong. Powerful. Bono, U2, time and space.
Best version ever
U2 at top! Unbelievable
When my uncle Max, he was a Marines ( master sgt.) he was in Beirut during the 80s
Guarding the ex American embassy over there . On his way back on the US ship U2 played . I miss you Maxito.
Edge killin´ that guitar!
I think u2...Bono is one of the greatest singers there has ever been ..or will be. on top of being " Gorgeous " .
No One compares to the awesome U2
Best song ever
Goosebumps
they had so much spirit and power then. like a spirit flowing through them.
yaaas!
For me the Album that stands out as their finest is Rattle n Hum.
My absolute fave of any live song. Ever
I love this movie so much! It's what inspired me to start playing guitar and I could never be happier with it!
本当にラトルアンドハムは名作❤カッコいい❤
The Edge just fucking smashes this out of the park in this version. You can tell he's totally immersed in the song by the trance-like @ 1:03
.
I was straining to hear The Edge' guitar solo. This wasnt quite loud enough for me in my headphones. I enjoyed watching but i wanted more sound. I enjoyed the video n ty.
My absolute favourite live track which prickles the hairs on the back of the neck. Mullen builds, anchors, and finishes beautifully!
Love EXIT above all.
♥ Deeper into black, deeper into white...♥
Hands of love from France
At This moment these guys were huge,,,, at This moment 2022 they're still HUGE.... Top Any Band In History ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Great bass line,Adam rules!
They were Amazing here 👏👏
The best most incredible version of any song anytime
This song the best song of my life. 100% powerful

Still love it. Saw the Movie 🎦 many times in the theater 🎭 and on home video. Which I need to replace
This deserves a RSD release.
When I mourn the loss of Bono's guitar ability I think of this performance. Maybe not audio but visual.
2.28 and Adam morphs into The Edge!
the best band ever u2 love this boys,,love from portugal ever u2
Rock dynamite. Brilliant album.
I used to get goosebumps at that first shot of the edge on the left of the screen playing the first guitar notes
I still do, especially at the end of his solo in bullet the blue sky on this tour
“EVEN THE HANDS OF LOVE” !!
brilliant!
That was HUGE!
So hands that build
Can also pull down
The hands of love...
Powerful lyrics, also one of the darkest, this is the most powerful song of U2,besides many others!
This how you build a song that dynamics in this song are so brilliant.
I've been lucky enough to see these guys 3 times. First time 1984 in Sydney Australia. There isn't another band in the World that comes close to them.
Edge silhouetted on 2.30. fantastic image.
brilliant!
U2 has always been the soundtrack to my life.
Best Album U2 ever had...love this CD
brilliant musicianship
Amazing tune
Absolute masterpiece 🎸
Just singing the song with no commentary or changing of the lyrics. God I miss this U2 🥲
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FKN GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD....best version ever ...GLOOOOORRRRIIIIIAAAAAAA

Saw this live. Then bought 2 tickets for a roadtrip to AZ at $5 per night. Good times.
The greatest band ever still going strong still same original members longevity at its best like them ☘️🇮🇪😘👍🍀🥰😎😍🥰🍀🇮🇪☘️☘️☘️🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
Esto es U2 en esencia pura , a pslo y sin efectos en una canción que en vivo es una auténtica pasada , Rock and roll !!!!
...Ring those bells, The Edge!
I wish I saw them back then
Young, energetic and they sounded amazing
I finally found it! Gloria, G - l - O- R- I -A, Gloria! That was frantic, creative, vibrant and powerful.
What does Bono says after Gloria? I can't figure it out
@@nickionescudeblazonick32 it’s him spelling out Gloria. At least that’s what the lyrics say
I wish I could make the volume louder during this song.
Awesome!
Great song! We need more songs like this in the next album Songs of Experience
Kosmo Costanza and all you got was a albumn of shite
Larry's drum fill as he comes in around 57 seconds into the vid is fucking badass
I am watching since years ! Soundtrack of my Life!
the best ever!!!!
I was at this concert.
Sensacional!
I have always loved this version but after viewing a handful of performances from other shows on this tour I am only re-affirmed of this one’s magic. The color one from Sun Devil Stadium is great as well.
