Thank you much, Lauren. I'm glad you found it useful 😊
Great video! I liked the breakdown of your prime choices.
Thanks man!! That's so good to hear 👍🏼

thx bro great info
No problem. I'm glad you found it helpful :)
My choices would be:
-Samyang 24mm f1.8
-Samyang 35mm f1.8
-Samyang 45mm f1.8 or Sony 55mm f1.8
-Sony 85mm f1.8
-Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 G2 VXD
-Tamron 70-180mm f2.8
If I had to choose just one prime, it would be the Sigma 65mm f2.
That's a lot of lenses, you need a big bag 🎒 😀 do you have them all? There's many I haven't tried on the list.
@@johannesbgonzalez I would choose from that list... I own the 28-75 and the 85mm. I already had the 35mm f2.8 lenses from Samyang and Tamron, when Samyang released the f1.8 version.
I borrowed the 70-180 sometimes, but I rarely need those focal length.
And I have a huge collection of Minolta manual focus lenses.
For traveling, the 28-75 and maybe a Minolta 200mm f4 will be enough 99% of the time.
@@mrbaiser4133 sounds like solid choices. I really like to try the 35-150mm, as I think it almost covers everything.
@@johannesbgonzalez It looks like a good choice - on paper. But I wouldn't want to walk around with that monster for hours. I know that wedding photographers and many others love it, but I couldn't use it for street photography.
@@mrbaiser4133 compared to the dslr lenses, I used 10 years ago, it is still relatively small 😂
Thanks for sharing your favourite lenses for street photography!
I’m also an urban photographer and mostly use prime for their size and aperture. My favourite focal lengths are probably 14, 20, 50 and 85, and I’m considering getting the Tamron 35-150 for a 4 week Japan trip to minimise swapping lenses in crowded/rainy conditions. Would you consider getting the Tamron despite its size, or something more conventional like the 24-70/2.8 or even the 20-70/4 as a versatile lens for a trip like this?
Hey thanks for watching the video. I think the Tamron or rokinon/samyang 35-150mm cover a fantastic range. A part from the size and weight. The gripe I have with zoom is mostly I found it challenging deciding which focal length I should use when I frame a photo so I always end up taking the same photo at different focal lengths. So I usually just pick one or two prime lenses when I go out and that is it. But I think as you describe it, it would be easier and more convenient to just have a zoom that can cover your needs. I would go with the 35-150 because of the reach you get. But the 24-70 is also very popular, so that will be a solid choice too 👌🏼
I settled down with 2 lenses for all my needs as of now
Tamron 35-150 f2-f2.8
Sigma 85mm f1.4 dg dn art
Just missing out a bit on wider one
great choice. Im interested in the tamron aswell because it covers so much range. But since im pretty invested in the primes, I am a bit hesitant to buy it. Ive heard great thing about the 16-35 f4. If you need to get a wider range. You can always photo stack and get similar results.
Surprised you didn’t mention the 28mm f2. It’s a little beast. Great overview though. Had that tamron for a while and it is excellent.
I'm glad you found the overview helpful! There are so many great options :) While I didn't specifically mention the 28mm f/2 lens, it's certainly a noteworthy lens, known for its compact size and excellent performance - thanks for mentioning it!
❤
what about sony 18105f4 cuz I purchased this one and really interested to use it but there are few videos about it
I haven't tried it :) As I say in the video, I am mostly into primes over zooms. But the focal length for this one should be great - covering a wide range of both wide and tight. So I am sure, you are going to be happy about it. Just get out and use it! :D
do you recommend the 55mm f1.8 or the 50 1.8 for street photography? do not look at the price factor
The 55 is the better lense 👍🏼
What I hate about all these lenses, not just in this camera brand, is the size. They used to be small on 35mm film cameras. Wow are they big now even for street photography.
True. I think the 35mm is okay of it size though and also the Samyang 24mm. But in general the FE lenses are big. If you use the apc-version they are usually a bit smaller though I think.
For me it is not a problem though. When I was a Nikon DSLR user, both the camera and the lenses was quite big :)
@@johannesbgonzalez I went to a dedicated camera shop for the first time in years; the place had everything you can ask for. I noticed the FF bodies have gotten smaller from 2010 onward but indeed the lenses are bigger than I remember for these cameras, especially the good primes. I have made up my mind to go with an ASP-C body. I see their lenses are more up to par with old film lenses in terms of size.
God video 👍
Tak Pablo 👊🏼✌🏽
Great Video, but i want this aps-c Video so bad. pls
Thanks. I'll put that on the list videos to make !!
Do you think it’s convenient and easy to switch lens during street photography
Depends on the lenses. But for the most I part, I think it is okay. But when I do street photography, I mostly only carry one lens on the camera and that is is. Sometimes I have another with me and switch if needed. If I do client work, then I carry more lenses to be more versatile.
