Thanks for your always informative and entertaining content. I am a big fan. My reason for commenting is ....I really enjoy watching you driving your cars. You should do it more often. Jo - Cape Town South Africa. Brofist@
That car just keeps giving
Button number 2 was a Game Changer for sure !
If I am not wrong, you got the same side mirror mechanism on the FIAT Coupes. And if you look at the prices, it is fantastic deal...
Haha, that’s cool. Just like the 360 F1 pump and a 147 Selespeed pump.
That side mirror mechanism is the exact same fiat/Alfa/Lancia uses for ages on all of their cars... It would be a lot cheaper to just grab a used fiat side mirror and butcher it
Yeah, it's a Ferrari, but alot of things are shared with other makes, specially Italian ones, and that's for the better
Yeh has to be a parts bin item
You all beat me to it lol. I've just done the same thing with some Freelander 2 mirrors and the actuators look very similar even down to plug .
Even VAG -mirror mechanism looks same :)
Sounds like a keeper 👍🏻
I have a lot of respect for a youtuber that doesn't hold his own camera while driving. Sweet repaire man!
That F40 build will be epic!!
Scott's enthusiasm to rise above any challenge is really nice to watch compared to other UA-camrs who whine and complain and also are so hyperbolic. I'd love to meet Scott and hang out with him for a weekend. But Im poor and can't afford it, so I'll just do it from here instead.
Scott, you are the man pulling of this F40 future build brother. Be prepared to break the internet! We will follow you to the end regardless of what you pick up on your camera amigo. Message to anyone seeing this..... If you are new to Scotts channel you need to help move this mans content to viral status on a every video he puts out. No one is doing it this way. No one is the OG DIY Ferrari ambassador but this man. No one in the world has a rat rod Ferrari Testarossa. No one in the world is building a F40 with this dudes DIY Ferrari knowledge. Like, share, and subscribe in mass please. Scott deserves it. Scott, Freddie, and Rich are the literal top 3 of UA-cam in this niche so click accordingly please.
Scott, you would make a great watchmaker with your micro mechanics skills FYI.
Matt thanks so much for this comment, you are a true gent and I very much appreciate the time you took to write this.
Cheers
Scott
You definitely need to get yourself a shop. Especially with the F40 build (potentially) coming up.
Agreed !
Isn't kind of the charm that he keeps doing it from his home? Seeing him fix some piston in the shop versus his kitchen table just doesn't feel the same
@@vadeka For sure. It's like he is saying "Even the average bloke can own and service a Ferrari." But I'd like to see him click it up one notch with a proper work area and tools. Some organization would be nice too. ;)
Your enjoyment while driving brought a smile to both me and my wife.
Thanks Gary.... its honest epic, if you are having a bad day i recommend one of these to change your mood
Or a maserati 4200 .. Obviously different car, but Ferrari drive train and great value 😊 (certainly in the UK)
Well done , you wont want to sell it when finished, regards from Australia
That exhaust valve is mental, sounds so awesome.
"Oh My Dear"...the exclamation of true Ferrari love!
As a Scud owner, this series is awesome. Getting some insight on my car, literally, is great.
That is truly mind boggling, only 30mph, but that exhaust make it seem like so much more 😂😂
Said it before and I'll say it again.. that car was a steal. That is so awesome. I love that you got this car at such a good price and to be able to fix it on a budget as well is really inspiring. I didn't know how much I needed a Scuderia in my life until I saw this. I really wanted a 458 to restore, but I highly doubt there will be any in the price range of your 430. Thanks for sharing this with us. Can't wait for the F40!!
Thanks Mike very pleased to hear its inspired you.
Be careful with those blue handle diagonal cutters! I had a pair just like that and one time the tip snapped off and hit me hard between the eyes. Very brittle metal with quite a bit of spring tension.
Really like this channel as unlike some others who simply run to the dealer with a list of all new parts required, you fix whatever you can and that feels so much more relatable. Whatever happens to the channel don't lose this!! 👏👏👏👏
Thanks Paul, wait until the F40 build, thats going to be very much a case of pulling out every stop to try and source, fix, make parts to build my dream car.
@@Ratarossa can’t wait mate! Keep up the great work. 💪🏼🔧
Incredible sound. Nice discovery of the remote by O!
This thing sounds epic and shifts geat!
Engine revs are incredible!
I am always amazed at how he can think things through and come up with a plan to save 90% with a little ingenuity. DIY at it's finest.
That exhaust valve is mad, you’ll soon be looking for tunnels. Anyways that car is looking better bit by bit, well done so far.
I'd keep that Scud over the CS anyday.
By the way, Scott...is there a possibility that the marking pen you are using on your tote board will damage the paint?
Those pens have some pretty exotic compounds in them to keep them moist etc...
That sound… just awesome
I think you could make a lot of $$ casting molds and making repop parts, Great work!
Beautiful car. Thought I was happy with my 360 but now I think I want to trade it in for a 430!
Front wheel noise sounds more like a brake disc backing plate/dust shield rubbing against the disc or debris trapped between the two. Assuming it has them fitted that is. Worth checking that before swapping out the bearing :)
ill have another close inspection
Mad respect for the f40 background.
killin it, id die for a youtube short of a gopro strapped to the back that thing with Scott just ripping around like a mad man
One of your best yet. Giggling like a little kid
I don't know how you're front wheel spindle is configured but check to make sure it's not bent. I had a '68 Buick Gran Sport 350 California that my brother apparently hit the side of a curb and bent the front spindle which ground down the wheel bearings.
Genuinely have loved watching this rebuild Scott. Especially the makeshift spreadsheet, which I do on my own rebuilds. Being a Northerner I’d add that £20 though ;) Great effort, and to see the cost savings and reuse of eye watering costly parts. The channel helps maintain enthusiasm for my own restoration, which at times can be overwhelming and stressful.
Thanks for the comment and glad you are enjoying it. Restorations can get very frustrating at times and its hard to stay motivated when things go wrong .... my grey 308 is a prime example of that. thanks for watching
Comment as you asked for one: Hunter digital alignment, find a tyre fitter with one, I am sure you have used one in the past, but they do a digital readout, before and after and also have factory settings for specific models of car to target.
It is coming along nicely. I would intentionally not make it too nice cosmetically because it SHOULD be a driver. Just get the mechanics 100% and drive the crap outta it is what I would do. At one of the dealerships I worked at we got an E46 M3 with that kind of electric valved exhaust and on loud it sounded like an F1 car at high RPMs. It was fun to play around with and scare people in that car.
Your reaction when finding that exhaust control was pretty awesome.. as much as Im jones'in for the BBi build an excited for whatever your doing with the F40 shell ,,watching you wrench on all the other Ferraris has been very entertaining.
It being staged didn’t fool you then.. 😂 I think they’d already discovered that valve button before that junction..
I can't speak for other Ferrari fans, but I forgive you for cannibalising the Stradale mirror, especially if the plan is to restore it later 🙂. That shakedown drive was terrific, and that exhaust sound! Many congratulations for reaching this point, and as always, I look forward to seeing the rest of this rebuild series!
Haha that thing sounds sweet at 30mph 😅
Yes but better at 90
Look at that smile when he discovers THAT button and that sound that is made is so beautiful.
That car is a BEAST. And that exhaust....so nice you can be in incognito mode...if that is even possible with a ferrari and then go buck wild and blow the neighbours windows out :D
Honestly its really handy to be able to switch it off when i drive into my neighbourhood
Dude, that thing sounds so sick with the valves open 🤯
Great stuff Scott!! I’m so excited for you!! I’m very keen to see how this comes along, can’t wait for the next installment mate!
I love your passion for the Ferrari brand and how you manage to do things on a budget, I’m looking forward to your F40 build very much
How lucky that Owen was filming when you discovered the remote exhaust valve 😉. Lovely car, lovely build!
Starting with an F40 bumper in the back is wicked. But your 430 sounds a lot better even...... wow...!!
360 / 430 alignment is quite a labour intensive job, requires a Hunter's machine and various weights in the seats and should never cost £20! More like 2-3 hours at a specialist (ie £120-300)
And pray the adjustment bolt at the rear isn't seized to the chassis or that will require even more labour to unstick. Oh, the joys..
Yes Ive used a Hunter before and showed it on the CSS build and the Silver Challenge Stradale build. At the end of the video thats what I said, the car would be getting full geometry when everything is finished and im happy all the issues have been resolved. It will be a Hunter machine and last time it cost about £90 from memory to do
I love how your placing things. Nice screen saver
I am really liking this car. The extra HP must be a breath of fresh air compared to the 360. At first I did not care for the body style, but it has grown on me.
Anything is possible!! This is what I have learned on your channel!! And, you're a hooligan!! Love it!! The noise!! The Noise!!
Looks like a Cargraphic valve controller. Loving this project!! Glad you’re proving me wrong on the cost side. It’s mental how little you’re having to spend!
Love this guys work ethic....nothing to hard to fix. Always plows through.....
I looked up the cost of the 430, they range from 220k to over 350k. I believe he paid 50k for this model.
Amazing savings!!!!
It was amazing to share the experience of you driving it the first time.
My everyday car is a Mazda3 but I once drove a 430 Modena and through that video , I relived those few precious memories of driving it.
If only I had the means to own one of these.
You are a talented bloke, and also one luck bar steward! Keep it up, love seeing these sort of videos.
Looks like that car just needs a lick of paint bro! That car runs! You got it running again! Sweet job bro.. Did it yourself!
Nice content!! Keep it up. You can try to do the side mirror yourself in carbon fiber. I know it's not that easy, but you can try.
Excellent video, Scott. I'm really enjoying this rebuild. Just wanted to say that you must have the nicest and most forgiving neighbours in the entire universe. Keep the videos coming, fella, can't wait to see her tip-top after all the graft.
Not to mention wife! Ferrari parts all over the house and yard. Hehehe
keep the good job! this channel deserves 1milion!
Should do The sound of music intro, And then have that Monster closing in from the distance then rippin by. 😊 She’s a sweet car!
Exhaust sounds amazing.
Scott, that is absolutely INSANE!!!!!!!!!
Really hope this scuderia is going to be a keeper
Recently I'm watching less of the UA-cam channels I set alerts on, not because they aren't still putting out great content but because my current circumstances have left me with less interest in them. Even M539 Restorations, it's too depressing because I have a lot I need to do on my ride and at the moment no way to get it done. Ratarossa is for some reason one of the few I still watch- partly because of the English charm of the host and setting, and partly because it's fascinating to see Ferraris resurrected.
From the outside and from the driver's seat they are some of the most beautiful and exciting cars ever made, yet underneath they have a certain 'economy of design'- simple, even crude manufacturing that is possible for a home-garage mechanic to fabricate or reproduce, yet still providing exactly the function that is needed, and at a great cost- and the cost and rarity being part of the equation, since it evokes a truer accounting of the human effort required to produce such parts, not masked by economies of scale or automation. Kind of a VAT representing the industrialization required to turn a grape field into an auto manufacture.
Thanks so much for watching, it means a lot 🙏🏻
Goes through the box quick, mad power 🤘🔥
Can you give us an update on the BBI build?
Great work Scott
Love the update and working through all the issues with the car. The exhaust sounds incredible! Can't wait to see the next video.
Exhaust vale was a nice find!
From Tesco to the McDonalds ad seamlessly.
You should hit those guys up! 😋
This one is actually beginning to look 👀 easy. one very sweet ride.
More great detective work & progress, thank you! 🙏🙏
Brilliant video....what a find that exhaust change is...
Looks like a Forza Componenti valve controller to me
Enjoyed it scott, keep it coming. The car sounds awesome.
Loving this car - not really a big fan of the 430, but the Scuderia is a whole different beast. Great work Scott :)
Been loving this Scud rebuild series! Thanks for all the hard work👍 awesome mate!!👍👍👍
Great to see her back on the road! Well done!
Looking forward to seeing this one finished Scott 👍🏻
Loved the test drive, that exhaust sounds amazing! Coming together nicely, Scott 😎
Fun video...looking forward to the 430 Scuderia being complete. With all this good content, how is it this channel doesn't have more subs?
Reparing doesn't just save money, it's environmentally friendly too! 🙃
Love the videos and how you always stay to your Ratarosso ethos on these builds
When you break down a Ferrari they really are made from scrap! Used to love them when I was a kid now I wouldn’t take one for free .
Absolutely epic 👍 it's definitely a keeper 👌 the exhaust note is intoxicatingly good
Great video Scott.
Is there a Speed Cops video to go with this episode ?
😆🤣😅
I'm loving this series so much, it's almost interactive. unpretentious real sqeals of delight are so refreshing and honest!
PLEASE KEEP THAT CAR!!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Cheers mate. Can't wait to see it.
Awesome exhaust note luv it!
Brilliant video, thanks and stay well.
Love this build
That sound, absolutely amazing
Absolutely outstanding love your work! Incredible result so far.....
Amazing, sounded simply superb. Great stuff 👍
That sounds absolutely mental. I listened with headphones on and then made my wife listen. She was very impressed but still won’t let me have one yet😂😂😂. Great job on the mirror, it’s a bit scary how much they cost. I hope we’re getting 2 more videos next week. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🦾🦾🦾🦾🦾
Nice work! Sometimes you dont need to buy brand New parts all the time!
Turning out to be a great car at a great price 🎉
Great progress!!
Loving this car Scott! The sound is immense 🎉
Beautiful music machine you have there! Looking forward to the comparison with the CS. There is a cheap-ish CS for sale near me that I've been eyeing... But would prefer the 430.
Thank you Scott for another banging video mate. Must say I held my breath when you were doing the mirror. So glad it went ok. Thanks again for the great work. We really should be on a mil subs by now. I’m sure the channel will get the recognition it truly deserves. Keep smashing Scott, thank you for all you do dude.
