These videos are the reason why u will never have a problem selling your cars because you do thorough work and do it all correctly and people appreciate that love you put into your cars, great vid once again
This comment deserves a pin drop. Agree 💯
Thankyou
Bloody spot on!
Jesus, those air boxes look fantastic!
You must be able to stand back and be so proud of yourself with this build. The car is looking PERFECT!
Thanks!
Thanks so much Steve. My very first super thanks ....When i have enough funds I will announce each time in a video what part they have purchased.
The attention to detail reminds me of Sreten from M539 Restorations, the attention to detail you guys do is amazing
Thank you Scott, your channel just gets better and better.
cheers mark
So cool to see the Strad Spider almost done! 1 of 1!
Filled up once and drove two blocks before my car stalled. Changed the fuel filter in a parking lot and fuel pump, still no start. Left it at a shop and it was bad fuel. Had to remove tank and empty/clean it out. Clean out all the lines and carburetor. Only good news is I took the bill back to the gas station who gladly paid it. I was driving an old Firebird. Edit to say I should mention that Spider looks absolutely gorgeous. What a fantastic build. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks buddy. Question how did you prove to the Gas station there fuel had caused the issue ?
@@Ratarossa I guess that's the best bit. I phoned them when my car was in the shop. They just said they would honor it without question. It sounded like it had happened already and I wasn't the first one who had complained. They just paid it without hesitation when I went in a couple days later. Maybe helps I'm Canadian and we're weird like that.
Again at a loss for words so comment for the algorithm and liked from New Hampshire, USA.
Edit: You're the Junkyard Dave of the Ferrari world.
Re “bad fuel” you very rarely hear about it these days so interesting to hear of yours. Only knowingly had one bad fill up and was back in the late 90’s not far from you, at the Texico station in Charvil (of A4 between Twyford & Woodley). Didn’t at first put the lumpy running down to bad fuel until I spoke with a friend who was experiencing the same and had filled up there on the same day. Emptied the tank, put new fuel in and all was good. Suspected water in with the fuel.
Nice work. We need an update on BBi. Stradale looks excellent.
Absolutely love the thoroughness, professionalism and love that you put into these Ferrari rebuilds. The best.
I cant wait to see the car done and also the restoration of the black challenge stradale as well 🤟✌️👍
Man...Once this car is finished, someone's gonna have a ton of fun with it...Great work.
Haha, big clue there Scott. Cant wait. Great work on the Spider, its looking amazing.
Happy to superchat and sponsor something on the secret build. 🙏🏻
One bit of constructive criticism - please mix the audio down to mono. Your stereo lav mic picks up different left and right levels as you move around. Obviously back to stereo for drivebys ;)
will do cheers Matt
Scott, Quixx plastic polish for Motorcycle windscreens is great for vinyl convertible windows! I have used it on my 360 Spider every year. It also does a good job on interior IR coatings on windshields. I made a bonehead move and used a green scrubby pad on my 2018 Alfa Giulia Quad, forgetting about the IR coating inside. Got a bunch of scratches but Quixx polish helped minimize them on the coating. On the Spider window it works great! Clean and clear.
perfect thanks buddy
@@Ratarossa That is the cheaper way Scott.. Otherwise take out that plastic to have the exact shape & size and replace it with thicker clear lexan..
@@poplaurentiu4148 Hmmm, it may need to flex though? Just ran it today! :D
@@john.e.kenney66 ok.. i understand, still if not too thick, but at least is a much more durable +the rear-view sight thru lexan is much improved clean & clear..
One of the best channels on UA-cam with genuine content! 👌
Love this build.
Thanks John thats very much appreciated
Good job Scott, things are finally getting tied up pretty well. Interior looks very cool, and hearing the gearbox doing its own work and adjusting just by pressing a button is quite amazing. Never got that option for my Renault Twingo when I plugged in the dongle.
Thanks for your content! 328GTS Owner 2007-2009
Thank you
I use Renovo plastic window polish on my Alfa Spider to keep the plastic tip top. Also a lot of people around the area I live were complaining about lumpy running cars and it was tracked down to water in one of the petrol storage tanks at a local Morrisons
Wow, great news, I'm looking forward the BBi episodes!
That's the ONLY Ferrari 360 that I like in the world. Great job Scott.✌🏻
Cmon, let us see you drive it. The spider version looks so epic, that's going to be one happy client 🤙🏻. F40 in the future, I'm in. My all time favourite Ferrari 🤩
Next video Stuart ....drive time !!
Thanks
Thanks very much Will. I am tracking all Super Thanks and intend to update during videos on what you have purchased for the future build.
Ask AmmoNYC about that rear screen you need to get cleaned. He might have the right product for you
Well done, it's looking stunning. All that hard work paying off massively. 👍
This is the most Ferrari a Ferrari can look!
Wow! feels like a lot of work for essentially details. But if you’ve got the money to make it happen, you have created your own legend! The 360 CS Spyder is born!
the boat industry has numerous thing for plastic window. as they use the same stuff. My fathers boat used this stuff and it was wonderful
Really enjoyed this series. ☺️
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Scott, there’s a product called Polywatch which is designed for polishing acrylic watch faces. It polishes and levels pretty deep scratches but mainly restores clarity. Worth a try with a hand cloth and if it works I’d put it on a small DA pad and job done! 👍🏻
ua-cam.com/video/R74oWp2qzMg/v-deo.html
thanks buddy
Beautiful job on the car, cant wait to see it finished
Thanks Scott, a really great video again. The car looks superb, can't wait to see it in action.
Looking amazing. The progress is unreal. Very well done.
Can not wait to see it drive. Looks amazing. Your showing Ferrari how it should be done.
You have the patience of a saint. 👏🏻
The spider is coming along beautifully. I think all 360’s should wear the CS wheels. So much nicer than the normal wheel. 👍🏻
Just a hand full of things left. 👏🏻🙂
Great work Scott, hope all your hard work is rewarded soon! New owner knows exactly what they're getting, unlike many others buying a Ferrari!
All the best!
Meguiars Plastix works really well on the rear screens and is also good for the plastix headlamp covers.
For the cloudy rear screen try using Duraglit metal polish (the wadding in the tin variety) carefully mask the fabric hood edges and go gently in a test corner at first, finish off with a squirt of car detailing spray and you'll find warming the screen with a hand held hair dry from the inside can help lessen the creases in it too.
That is fantastic, well done Scott you have done a brilliant job.
Wow looks fantastic, great job!
Hi Scott. Love the build. The material used for the window is likely an cellulose. This means polishing is the only option or otherwise replacement. Good luck and have fun with the f40 build!
Your fuel problem was probably water in the gas. By adding fuel volume, you have reduced the problem, but the water is still there. A little isopropyl alcohol will solve your problem (3 or 4 ounces to 40 liters).
Yes, bad fuel happened twice to me, one petrol 98, plus once in diesel. Scared the crap out me with my car using 98, but very relived. Heard lots of stories, about the servo has old tanks, low on fuel etc, but I think it’s just one if those things, occasionally a bad batch is made !. Nice work on the spider BTW. Like your attention to detail, makes you feel good driving it, knowing even everything no one sees is perfect !. Gt
Great build, looking mint. 2 Weeks ago here in Australia copped bad fuel, it killed the fuel pump and the regulator. The fuel smelt more like varnish than fuel. I had just filled the car the day before.
For the foggy plastic window I’ve used Renovo plastic window polish, great stuff
Amazing progress! Your amazingly detailed and its great seeing all that goes in and more so that you listen to constructive critisism (not many do). There are always learning curves and that you show them is amazing! For the trim piece i would just build a new one as it doesnt look complicated of a piece.......but that may be from watching loads of easy composites videos about making carbon fiber parts lol. Keep up the phenomimal job
Can't wait to see the restoration on your 360.
Ill do that at some point it will be worth doing
see, now that is a well good idea 💡
Hey Scott it’s coming on a treat!! I’ve always used Renovo plastic screen polish and it’s awesome and cheap ( about £15) it smells like ointment I use to use on my legs for rugby but it works🚒👍👍
always enjoy your content Scott, cheers!🎉
Yes I have had dirty fuel on a few occasions on ordinary non performance engines, which really surprised me as I would have thought their tolerances to be greater. Lucky for you I am In Australia, it’s apparently a well known fact here, you never buy 91 octane, it’s terrible stuff. So now it’s 98 for me no matter what the vehicle and all is good so far. But I agree with your general comment, never in 30 prior years for me either, but I didn’t always live in Aus. Ps. Your workmanship on this Ferrari is ace..seriously impressed, it will make a fabulous keeper. I had a F1 box and learned over time given it’s an electro hydraulic manual you can almost ignore those PIS settings when it starts to slip or jump out you change it, just like any manual, if it doesn’t slip the % sometimes reads zero…. and yet there is nil slip in the clutch. I am only going by Ferrari own diagnostic software, it’s never been very accurate, opposite to German cars. The interesting thing behind Ferrari is when you pull them apart you notice only some components are brilliantly made, the rest is very hit and miss. But glamour and the badge do it for most people. ✌️👀👍 have fun and we’ll done, I appreciate your sharing …..
Simply Stunning 🤩
fantastic work scott well done mate awesome
Tack!
thanks so much
Great progress looking really good! If you put Supermarket fuel in your car it may not like it. I always run a tank of higher octane brand fuel through my wife’s Audi every so often as It seems to blow out the cobwebs from the engine it’s not exactly a performance car though so not sure how Ferrari’s like their fuels! Excited to see if you got the F40 kit you did a video on it looked like a cool project
I remember reading about this project in Forza Magazine back a year and a half ago. Glad to see you are on the final stretch. Looks really good, actually, looks awesome!
Shame that electronics turn out to be the biggest issue, all because some line of code does not have the correct version number or something.
Hi, If you want to clean the plastic window, use Brasso, and finish with silver cleaner. They are both soft abrasives, and do a brilliant restoration finish, but try it first 🙂
Seriously? Brasso? Geez
Works great on all platics. Scratches, nicks, foginess, etc.
Plastic-X is the product you need for the convertible back window.
Your check and the gear box going through: reminds in the GP Montreal (can’t remember the year), Senna crashed and the journalist asked him “what went wrong?”, he answered “wrong chip in the gear box”
Great work Scott really enjoying watching your vids. Would be interested in finding out a little more on the OBD2 dongle and software you use too if you have time. Keep up all the good work. Al.
Amazing transformation, amazing car and amazing work🚗😍🇮🇹 By the way, what OBD2 dongle + software interface are you using? Thanks for the video as always and keep up the incredible work guys!!!
That car is going to be epic to drive🥰
F40 after the BBi ...whaaat.. oh yeah that's right the vids from a few months ago in that dark dingy garage ...very nice.
Mint job Ratty
Ethanol that is added to modern fuels attracts water so as other comments say fill up the tank regularly.
I was a mistake for Ferrari not to simply offer this car from the get go. This is such an amazing project. It's coming out perfectly.
Wasnt there a video from Ammo about cleaning a plastic screen?
Found the video: ua-cam.com/video/vmrKCKXx9FM/v-deo.html
thanks buddy
just watched it ...brilliant
Have had bad fuel. some others have also had the same problem water in the tank at the garage.
😌 I sense a replica f40 coming soon
your spider senses are strong
Check your fuel filter. Getting to the age that you’ll get crud in the tank, surely that not bad batch of fuel?
I have had bad fuel to the point the car almost wouldn’t start and was down on Power. The second time it happened I put octane booster in and it worked.
I got a check fuel injection error on my car once after driving a few kilometers in my Clio rs. Had to drive it like that a while and 2 Tins of octane boost to get rid of the error. Also replaced the fuel filter and saw the fuel was dirty. Never went back to that station afterwards.
Seems this happens a lot more than I thought !
Awesome!
Do you not think that watching someone who can spray a panel is just as good as watching a expert on the violin
Nobody's paying a fortune to go and watch a panel sprayer playing the Royal Albert Hall.
Just pausing the vid to say - don't know if I'd call that roll-bar 'lovely'!
That will all be refinished in alcantara and titanium paint ... it will look great !
A Ferrari recognises this car it could be worth an absolute fortune
As to what you can do for the rear window. I would try some marine esienglass cleaner. Eisenglass is plastic used in the the making of dodgers on boats.
Really looking good. I'll be super excited to get back to the BBi though. There is a real classic.
F40!!! bring it on.
Take a guess is it one of the abandoned ones in Dubai?
Super video once again Scott, this is definitely a car that Ferrari missed out! Could you please send me a link to the diagnosis tool please, Many thanks and look forward to the next video.
Hey , the interior light looks like a 206cc one if you ever get stuck
Maybe the power band needs tightening up?
Talk to Tino Car Care!! He's in London!! He detailes super cars!!
Was going Christmas shopping in 2003, stopped at a tesco and got fuel, half mile down the rd car just stopped working. Took 2 weeks to work out the fuel was bad. That was after a lot of searching the engine and head scratching. Oh didn't get to go shopping either 😕
did it just cure itself John or did you have to do any work and drain the tank ?
@@Ratarossa I had to drain half a tank of fuel and pump the old fuel out of all the fuel lines to get rid of it and then replaced the filter before putting fresh fuel in (from a different petrol station lol) and then the car work fine 🙂
The one Ferrari never made look WOWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Meguiars PlastX. It will polish out anything like that.
Would plastic polishing work to clean the rear window?
Plywood! Come on Scott play the game. You’re in a body shop. Use the template, cut some metal, weld it onto the footboard, satin black. Job done!!
Its a temporary solution until we find a correct foot plate ..... I did think about modifying the original but the back side of it is not straight
As always great video if you could add a little more content that would be great other than that cant wait for the next one.
If you know Rob farretti of super spreaders Matt Farrah's friend he had the 5555555 on his 360 I'm sure he's got a you tube video on how he fixed it but matt could ask him for you I believe Ferrari did it for him
thanks buddy
The 555555 and X is due to the Proxy Alignment. It is a pain sometimes. :/ Its a Fiat heritage thing lol
Hope all the hydraulic actuators are ok in the soft top as you know they love to go wrong and squirt fluid all over the driver and the seats.
Oh a 458 :)
If you found an F 40 .... i an in ... lets go!
The teaser number plate said F40 NO I’m assuming that’s rhetorical and doesn’t mean it’s a replica? I don’t think that’s Scott’s style and imagine it’s a real one that’s super rough hence the need for donations? I’m looking forward to it and reckon such a project could make the channel go stratospheric 👍
Hi what Diognostics are you using?
email me for link scott@ratarossa.com
I'm sure Ferrari loves you for reprinting their stickers. I'd be expecting a cease and desist letter
Really want to see you take proper care of your stradale hahaha
Call Tino the detailer he's in London!!
there was a. bad batch of petrol sold by Tescos about 15 years ago that damaged quite a few cars and made the news at the time - put some in the V6 Audi A6 avant I had at the time and it fucked the O2 sensors. Tescos paid the cost to get it fixed though - about £500 from memory.
Seeing that Ferrarichat from 2007, I wonder what today's Scott say to young Scott of 2007?
Where's the Boxer ? hope all going well.
back on the boxer once this is complete
@@Ratarossa Top man.
