Thank goodness something that finally works. I tried everything in the book including the quick start patterns. None thing worked until I found this video. Your a blessing! Thank you so much!🙂
I am so glad it helped you. Enjoy!
Im so pleased I found this!! I’ve been struggling trying to do this…my husband was laughing at me! But this demonstrates how to so easy! Thank you so much. I will be making a bead tomorrow.💕💕🥰🥰❤️🐶🐶👍👍🇬🇧
This is great! I am glad this video is still here after 4 years! Easiest way to start peyote! I always have a mental block when starting peyote! Thank you!
Odd or even, starting a bracelet has always been a nightmare. This technique works.
I now completely understand the even count peyote. Been avoiding it because it seemed so intimidating. Thank you so much. Now I have to learn how to read the patterns
Love the close up and detailed instruction
Que Pena que el video. Este en ingles. Hay Laguna possibilities que lo den en espanol.. Felicitaciones, Bueno el video, gracias por compartir muchos Carinos desde Chile
I’ve been working even/odd count peyote for about 20+ years, and have struggled with the start, thank you for this wonderful easy way to start my work.
You're so welcome!
Finally!! I've been struggling to get started and this helped me SO MUCH! I'm so excited!! Thank you!
Thank you for this video. I am an experienced peyote beader. I just started using 15/0 seed beads with an intricate pattern. The beads kept slipping around. After many hours, I gave up but, then, I came across your video. I’ll get back to it now. Thank you!!!
I really like this stitch. I can't get over how easy it is to learn from you, Mani. I commented on another video and learned that due to your failing eyesight, you are no longer making videos. I am so sorry for you and your eyesight. I can relate. My eyesight is getting bad as well, but I will go as long as I can. I'm getting a tad bit old ;) and I also have a disease that is taking it as well. I'm stubborn tho. I'm watching this video late in the evening and so I can't start practice until tomorrow. You mentioned there are many peyote stitches. If I get good at this one, I hope the rest are just as easy. Anyway, I'll move on now. Thank you again for all your past hard work and for leaving the videos up. I don't know what it is about your teaching style, but I've tried to find someone as good as you and I have watched hundreds of videos. I found one out of all of them who is sort of close. Take care. --Carol
Great video. Easy to understand. Many should “get it” because you made it so simple. Thanks so much👍
Thank you so much. I hope many do get it, and can learn to enjoy peyote as much as i do.
Brilliant!!!!!! Goodness this is going to be a sanity saver. Thank you very much for sharing this ❤
Great learning tool! I avoided peyote until I discovered if I made a starting swatch out of brick stitch and flipped it sideways it made it easier but I wish I had seen this video first.
Just have to say thank you so much the way you have explained it is brilliant .
I am so happy to come across your video. Like many others noted, I have tried and tried so many different ways to start peyote but your method just clicked! Thanks....
Wonderful video and presented very clearly. Thank you for this tip. I will use this forever in my beginner classes. With Gratitude!
Thanks, thanks, thank you so much for sharing this with us. Good job!
Hello, thank you soooo much for video. Was wondering does it matter what type of string you use for beginners peyote. I am right now using floss, and it is not working. Please let me know. Ruthie
please make more videos you are great. Why don't you teach how to do a simple wire wrap. I could understand everything perfectly.
Thank you Mani! I always come back to you as you describe, teach and video the best! It makes learning easy!
Putting the needle thru the beads really helps that first row. That first row is a little bugger. Thanks for sharing .😊😍
Thank you! Finally something that makes sense and works!!!
Thanks very much. I usually make chainmail jewellery, but my wife asked me to make a peyote stitch necklace that she saw on line. I'm used to tricky starts to weaves, but this one had me swearing like a trooper...
I wish this was available before. Thanks I can see how it’s done and be successful. Thanks again
Excellent instruction! Congratulations 👏🏻👏🏻
Estupendo el vídeo pero podría ser en español para que los latinos aprendiéramos, gracias y felicitaciones
that's so clever wish I would of seen this instead of going crazy trying to learn how I did.
HUGE thanks for this tutorial!!!, I’ve been struggling for years wanting to do peyote but never could get past the start🥰
It's a good way to show how to start this off. I've been wanting to learn peyote. Thank you I'll try it
Thankyou i was ready to commit suicide ! lol just kidding !
its my first time to learned the peyote stich and i love it... it so chanllenging to do peyote and i enjoy it...
Awesome, that will make it so much easier for me. Thank you so much.
This helped me tremendously. Ty. Keep sharing videos please
I would like to send a pic of my progress if possible, because still not getting it;
WOW Now that is exactly what I needed!! I was going to buy those cards or pay for a lesson to learn what seemed to be very confusing so called beginner beading stitch! Well I suppose it is an easy stitch to pick up from just reading, if you are not the show me type learner, who really cannot pay attention long enough to the written instructions even if they do have Pictures. It's the ADD in me!!! LMAO THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC. I will now go and start the simple bracelet I have been wanting to try and make. for a rather long time!!!! 😊
i am so glad it was helpful. Enjoy
Thank you for this video, it sure helped me understand the peyote stitch.
How do you finish off? What do you do with that starter bead? I am so new here and want to learn so bad.
Thank you very much you made that look so easy im going to try it wish me luck xxx
This made starting peyote so easy! Thank you!
Thank you it helped so much
Thank you so much for this video! I appreciate the fact that you went slow.
Great idea. Will definitely try your technique
I am so anxious to buy my beads & get started by following your video. You did a wonderful job teaching Peyote to us beginners. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
great explanation--easy to see and understand. thank you
Awesome technique, it makes it so much easier!
Glad you think so!
Great video. I wasn’t having trouble starting the peyote stitch, but this makes the third row much easier to work because the beads are positioned up on the needle & it keeps everything from twisting around. I will definitely try this when I make my next ring. Thanks again, Patty 🧑🏻🦳
Hi Mani,
Your technick for starting peyote is a life saver. It makes it so easy to get the third row done because the beads that you need are sitting up on the needle & it keeps everything from twisting around. I have a ring going right now & it was so easy to start I could hardly believe it. Thanks, Patty 🧓
THANK YOU!!!! finally get it!!!
Totally new to peyote stitch or beading in general. Have watched countless videos. Tried your technique with 8/0 beads. It worked perfectly! I ran out of beads for that bracelet so... until Amazon arrives, began another project with 11/0 beads. Phew! Technique continued to work, but I had to trust the technique because it looked like crap until I had a sizable section woven. Can’t believe the difference the change in sizes made. To be fair, did also switch from Myuki to Czech glass. Those were the only differences. Thanks for taking the time to help us out. Very generous of you!
Glad you are having fun. Just remember that rounded edged beads with not fit as snug and uniform and tube type beads. But a lot of work was traditionally done in rounded beads so go for it.
You're the best beading teacher on UA-cam!!! Thank you so much!
Thank you for the kind words
I have taught myself a lot, watching you. So no. Thank you!!!
Yay I did it! Thanks for the 2 needle tip!
Thanks so much for these videos!! I’m new to this and you’re a huge help! Keep the videos coming!!
I am sorry to say that I have stopped making videos. Life happened. Take care
Manie Martinez oh no I hate that you were my favorite!!! So informative will you still be able to answer questions on past projects, or be available from time to time to help??
What’s the difference between delica,, pony, and regular 11/0’s and pony beads is it just size?
Yes there is a difference in the shape of the beads. Both pony and Delica are tube beads. They are cut from a long tube (like a straw) so they have bunt cut edges. They are great for bead weaving. Regular seed beads are rounded on the edges and more like a small glass marble with a hole in the middle. Due to the way they are shaped even though you get the same size they will seem like different sizes. I hope this helps
Manie Martinez can I get all of those from Crazy Crow? I would like to invest about $100-$150 in beads, rhinestones and pearls. I have several findings I bought in bulk from eBay years ago. Is there any way I could get a suggestion list from you. I love the Rosette earrings for beginners the ones that what you see in the front you see in the back! They are having a sale on seed beads, on the 11/0’s and most sizes. They were less than $2.50 a hank, idk which colors to get they have opaque and translucent. I would love some colors for Native American work mostly and also thought about getting into some hair pieces for weddings. So pearls and rhinestones but I didn’t really look at anything but the seed beads. I would love to follow along with your tutorials, with you, as much as possible. I also need beading needles, and beeswax plus your suggestions on what to purchase if anyway possible? Idk a good price from a bad one. I have and tacking thread and several others so that’s not huge I just need the correct beads! I hear blues are very popular but Turquoise is always popular. I have several larger beads but right now I’ve got two plastic containers in Black and Turquoise 8/0’s do you have a project for beginners, using two colors in that size. I have a couple of regular sewing needles that will easily fit thru that size bead. Trying to start a small business and hobby at the same time. Thanks for all your help so far but help me keep up, with your most used beads please? The beads in your projects are beautiful! I also want to learn how to wrap cabochons, if I’m not mistaken I believe you have a video for that I would also like some beads for those. I would love to make one large order with free shipping and go big or stay at home! I also figure if I invest that amount I’d be more likely to actually do it. Thank you so much for your help!
Is there anyway you could put a list of standard materials needed, to follow your work? What would the best beads to buy when starting out? I have two sizes of 11/0s from Walmart, do you have a simple project for something like that I have a lot of the findings, but I’m lost on where I should put my money? Please help me you’re a great artist and love your work!
I am so grateful for your video, I finally made my first Peyote stitch after watching countless videos for beginners. Your method works!
brilliant ,so clear ,makes me want to have a go .
Great tutorial
It helped me so much.
OMG I was so ready to cry! Like ugly cry! Thank you for this EXTREMELY HELPFUL VIDEO!!!! I love peyote beeding!!! But I am new to it and have had some trouble getting started! So thank YOU!!!
You are very welcome
Thanks soooo much ! The end bead was my problem & this makes it easier. So glad I found your video. Can't wait to make some of your other video designs.
I love the phrase “the sticky outy bead”. 😂😂😂😂
Yes I do have a habit of giving things expressions. Thanks for noticing!!❤
Excellent!! Thank you
Super! Thanks so much!
Yes, yes, yes. It makes sense!!! I'm going to try peyote again!
Yay! Let me know how it goes. I am so excited for you
Thank you very helpful ✨
Such a great peyote tutorial 💖
I am so grateful. Thank you so much. I tried peyote so many time and gave up . This video is a game changer.
I am so happy for you
i finally got it to work following this video.. i did first try with pony beads, but i understand how to do it and what im doing instead of being completely confused. thank you so much for this video..
Glad I could help!
Genius. I think this will work for me! Thank you!
Did it work?
Manie Martinez yes. I’m doing a project right now where I have to do multiple bead strips. So lots of starts. This has speeded the process up a lot. I had been struggling with the starts so much
Geese Louise, ahhhhh!!! Finally! Finally! For heavens sake, it’s made me insane. Looks so simple but those tiny beads and the thread, ugh!
It was you who gave me the “tool” I needed. Thank you so much, from my crossed eyes and my huge fingers 😆! WOW
Yeah! I am so glad this video helped you. Enjoy your new adventures in Peyote.
Holy crap this is BRILLIANT! Thank you!
You're very welcome!
Mate! You are an absolute ledgend!
What a great easy fix for that dreaded peyote start. I tried the quick start cards failed, tried a bick stitch starter turned for peyote failed, gave up and went back stitching huichol and saraguo pieces instead, until I just watched your video. You have made this super easy and instructive just like your other videos and finally peyote is no longer a nightmare 😍😍😍💐💐💐💐💐Thankyou
Great to hear!
Thank you really helpful.
Amazing! Thank you!
Loved this video, soooooo helpful
I tried it as I always have trouble and it worked great! Thank you! I am just making a hat band for my husbands cowboy hat with peyote. I am almost out of time.
That is wonderful that you tried it and it worked. I would love to see a picture of it when you are done.
Newbie just starting
Thank you, maybe at last it won't take me 10 goes to get started
Thanks I think I can do this.
Oh thank you for doing this!!!! I just couldn't get it to look right!!!!🤗
No problem 😊
Genius!!!!! Thank you!!
This is really a good idea
OMG! Ive never struggled with anything more than peyote, I try for a while, I just can't get it started so I move on to something I can do. Then a few months later I'll give it another go, but still not getting it. Until I come across your video,...wow! How easy was that. Thank you so much, now maybe I can try some of the wonderful patterns I keep seeing. X
Wonderful!
She’s fabulous and so is her work!!
You are wonderful for sharing your knowledge and talent. Thank you. You helped me so much I can't thank you enough. I have been trying to do this around the top of my walking stick. It would go well for awhile then boom something or another would happen and I would have to cut it off and start over. I have been doing it like you showed and all has been good for now. I can put it on the top of my walking stick after I finish. If I thought I could do it I would have but more beads on to make it wider but I am finally on my way to getting my 1st complete peyote stitch completed. I owe all to you. Again THANK YOU ❣️
Your talking to me! I tried just today lol 😂
Awesome... how did it go?
Omg!!! 🙀
I know this video says it's from 3 years ago, but I just barely found it and boy am I glad I did!!! I've been struggling hard with getting the peyote stitch down just right and now you just saved my life as well as blew my mind!!! Thanks so much for this🙏💗😺
Thank-you for making this video! I made a mistake and bought a kit without full instructions, just the beads and a pattern for a amulet necklace. Needless to say , I have never beaded. I am sure it is an odd stitch . Watching this video gives me some hope that maybe, just maybe I can learn the basics and then learn the odd stitch and then do my kit. It is made by I bead. com and it is called butterfly garden and it is gorgeous. Just a shame you need to buy the book also to learn how to do everything. I will learn on you-tube. Hugs! :)
very nice work
I was having so much trouble with starting Peyote and this and your other Peyote instruction videos have really helped me to understand what I was missing. Thanks so much for the uncomplicated teaching.
You are welcome
So clever. TFS
Brilliant!
Omg thank you so much I think I finally found a way to actually do this frustrating stitch that's been driving me crazy trying to learn
I hope it helps you. Take care
Thank you
My first peyote piece was made years ago, an odd-count keychain that I was unable to stitch the design correctly. This video has given me hope I might be able to do peyote after all, thanks so much!! :)
just have fun and enjoy the journey
I am just starting out on the peyote stitch.. The starting is what was throwing me off. I can’t even begin to thank you enough. I can’t wait to get in my shop and try this method. I try and watch all your videos because you explain things clearer than any one else I have watched. Thank you very much.
I always get to the 3rd row and it all falls apart and gets out of pattern
I understand the first few rows are always tricky. Just watch your tension. Keep it tight. Once you get the third row in and every thing snuggled up tightly you will be off to the races.
That was very easy to understand!! Thank you
You are welcome!
Yesss!!! I'm gonna dive in tomorrow. You are a great teacher and this is the best beginners video I've seen. I think I can do it!! Thank you!
I am a total beginner and this looks so easy. I'll definitely be giving it a try. Thank you so much
Brilliant. Have been trying so hard to master this stick, Thanks you
Thanks! This made it so much easier to follow! I'm new to peyote stitch and absolutely love that you called it the "sticky outy" bead 😂
Glad it was helpful! For me learning was about getting it not being correct, so I figured it might be helpful to teach that way too.
Great tutorial on it!!! Thank you...
Your welcome
