Honestly, even if you take away the fact that the song is about Venom, it still holds up. It just sounds like a ballad of anyone battling their demons and I personally think that makes it even better. Even after 10 years Skull and Pat continue to amaze me.
I love how when Venom surrounds Eddie he looks like he’s making an exoskeleton around him and when Carnage takes control he violently rips out of Cletus showing their different connections to their hosts and personalities

As expected, the rap for Venom 2 is as good if not better than the first one. My fav lyric is "When I buried the monster, all I buried was me" because I used to shut down every feeling in me and blind myself from my own shadows, and was missing on every lights that were hiding behind them...
Every shadow needs a light in order to be made. One cannot exist without the other. Same goes for beauty and ugliness. We all have a mix of both within us. If you make one side cease to exist, the other will vanish as well.
"Show you worlds without the boundaries" "lost your better half? Want to get it back? I'm your better half thought you never had" my favourite lines if all time

I just realised something incredible, I just realised this song is a layered introspection of Skulls alter ego trying to remind him why this half of him is worth more to us than the other is to him. To remind him to be inspired by his better half, not intimidated by it but I can't help but question if this "better half" is intended to be better for him, or better for us. I think the second verse really expresses this concept. "Better to trust the devil you know" referencing the best way to deal with his pain and stress, the pressure and mental demand of creating music for the world means he carries more weight than most and the more weight he carries the less power he pulls from his original engine vs an additional anaesthetic such as alcohol to help him through it. The devil is the engine that drove him down his path, which means he trusts himself enough not to betray us. There's a reason this song already has a powerful attachment to it's audience, it's a very rare anthem of a kind of ultimate sacrifice we're prepared to decipher but not prepared to face. Deep down we hear the raw essence of strength in Skull's voice and the intent placed into the creation of the instrumental and deep down this is the kind of true substance this world deprives us of.
This song has such a dark and almost corrupted feel, but i love these songs about the 'villain' and you feel for them, and the scariest phrase is, "The more you understand your enemy the more you cant help but love them." Inspired work, love it all.
I watched Venom: LTBC and honestly I loved it as much as the first one. A lot of people bash it and I personally tried to see their points, however as much as I try, I just cannot. I enjoyed watching both movies and cannot wait to see what they have in store for Venom and Eddie. Honest to god, one of the best movies I have watched, underrated in my opinion.
I think the first Venom rap fits perfectly for Venom's origin story in the comics, and now this fits for the storyline where Eddie parts from Venom on an auction, and Venom changes hosts from time to time. And at the end he reunites with Eddie.
Outside of Venom, I could see this working with lots of other things too, someone with multiple personalities, a possession, many other ways it could fit so well, and I love it!
You know, the lyrics in the beginning and before the end in Your Better Half can be put on top of the main No Hero lyrics and they sound really identical. Love that.
Fun fact about symbiotes: Any symbiote in a later generation than the ones before them are more powerful than their parents. Venom is a very early generation, if not some of the first, of symbiotes. The more I listen to this song, the more I feel like there's so many angles to it. Originally, I thought that it just sounded like the song was about Kletus trying to get under Eddie's skin, as in the film he was interested in forming some kind of bizarre bond with Brock. Once he gets Carnage, he sees Brock as a sort of kindred spirit, and seems determined to make a connection -- even if he intends to kill him. Then I thought to myself that it also sounds like Venom, trying to form a stronger bond to Eddie, as the two are undergoing a lot of tensions and growing pains in their partnership, no doubt made worse by the fact that Eddie is suffering emotionally from finding out his ex is getting married. I dunno, just random thoughts I guess.
0:11Thought I was one of a kind 0:14 But I'm nothing special. 0:17 What's under the pantomine 0:19 A puppet? A vessel? 0:22 I dreamt once upon a time 0:25 My Body-a temple. 0:28 Til it was gutted to become a doll house for the devil!

In my eyes, it's a bit of both
@@JohnDoe12345. That's basically what I'm saying.
@@MetalHanyou1 yeah 👍 this song is fire. I think anyone can agree with that.
I love how the beginning talks about venom, "long road got me winded" is especially clever, it's referencing his space travel
I like how over half of the songs you make are better than 90% of the songs on Sirius stations
This is fire. It's all ways great seeing how you create great lyrics
There is no thing that can describe how BEAUTIFUL it is

easily one of your best in my opinion. The lyrics are catchy, and the chorus is absolutely god tier. Amazing job!
This song is better than the movie
You aren’t wrong, but the story definitely improved in the second movie
Two years late but I’m glad I listened to another great song from you guys 👍
0:06 slow dancing in front of a raging wall of fire. I think I've found my aesthetic

THIS WAS EVEN MORE CHILLING THAN THE FIRST VENOM SONG... WHOA
the scene where venom catches the gas grenade and licks his teeth as he goes invisible in the smoke is fucking cool
Skull we love you!
Never seen this movie, probably never will. This song still slaps tho.
