This is very helpful since I'm knitting my first toe-up sock now in Adriafil Knitcol and I have to decide what kind of heel to make. I'm on the Central Coast of California. Love multi colored yarn, especially for socks and cowls. Thank you for the lesson!

NC. Always do 2aat top down magic loop. Originally used heel flap as Erica Lueder garter edge with eye of partridge. Have recently been doing a strong heel (several good ones on Ravelry) that doesn't have a heel flap at all. It fits my big size 10 feet well. My vote is for the multicolored sock yarn. Looking forward to more short row instructions
I am currently knitting the Vignetto Shawl by Judy Marples (Ravelry, of course). I am using some Malabrigo sock yarn from my stash and am truly loving it! It will be for a friend who is having a hip replacement next month, so I figure something warm over her shoulders will be nice. I just started watching your videos this spring and am truly enjoying your smile and your banter with your husband. A morning feel good.
the multi color yarn (anniversario) is so pretty, love the colorway. The different heels are very interesting. I will try each of them on my socks for my dolls. Thank you.
I knit only toe up socks using Wendy Johnson patterns. Many pairs for all my family, always a pair on needles, I also do 2at a time alternating between 2 sets of dpn needles, size 1.5.
I love both yarns. Recently tried Hermione's Everyday Socks by Erica Lueder. I may adopt this as my new "vanilla" socks. I also do TAAT magic loop with Chiagoo needles. Have no interest to do anything else. No second sock syndrome for me!
I love the multi colorway. I am working on the Yume pullover by Isobell Kramer. Knitting it up in a single strand of Berroco Re-Mix Light and it is making a fabulous lightweight fabric. Spring is slowly coming here in Illinois. Love your videos.
I like to knit a short-row heel in a garter stitch also for the toe and the socks last longer and they keep your toes warmer too oh and no picking up the wraps the garter stitch hides them it's pretty cool
Oregon here. Currently contemplating yarn for more socks. I personally like the Fleegle heel because it's easy, reproducible, and no holes. I seem to always end up with holes with knit and turn patterns. Those Malabrigo skeins are very pretty. I could see a pair of finished socks in both colors.
