Another frosty start this morning! So we had to keep moving yo keep ourselves warm! We get busy with the barkchip and we are almost done! We dig up some beautiful fresh homemade compost and give the heaps and turn. A little visit from Robin who seems to be my new garden buddy and we even manage to prune the redcurrant bushes! It's been a very busy day.

Thanks Jim! Monty Don is a bit of a hero for me, so that's a massive compliment! Thank you very much! Plenty more to come as long as that rain stays well away! 🌱💚😊
Composting is like a magic trick
Haha, a very long slow magic trick 😂 but I know what you mean, it's clever stuff, but simple to do!! 😊💚🌱
It's so cold here as well. Have a nice Sunday evening 🌞
Where you based? Germany? I love the cold winters we get, just like to he prepared with the right clothes and layers! 😊🌱💚
I reckon you could do Monty Don's job Jake, on Gardeners World. I am very impressed with you. Love the Robin that has popped along to say hello.
Ah, thank you Linda! He's a bit of a hero of mine, so that's made my day, honestly! Haha, I'm glad you're enjoying the content 😊
I think he's my new best mate coz he knows I stash the suet pellets!
Stay safe and keep warm Linda 😊💚🌱
Beautiful garden 😍
Thank you 😘🌱💚
More stuff i need to do to :P
Hahaha, the list never ends!! But it's what us gardeners like! We like to be busy 😂😊💚🌱
Thanks Jake, a very instructive couple of vids. I haven’t got any fruit trees but I planted brand new gooseberry, jostaberry and elder bushes so will come in useful after next season. The ground frost finally arrived here this weekend, definitely too chilly for ice cream but I do admire your ice cream person’s entrepreneurial spirit 😆Have a good week 🌸🌺🌳
Thanks Nicki! I hope I've been able to get the information across well!
Ooooo, Gooseberry fool next year! I had a josta, but it just sulked and died so maybe I could try that again!
Hahaha, he goes throughout the year! He must get customers otherwise it'd be pointless! Maybe he sells hot drinks too!
I think we're all due a bit of winteriness over the next week or so, so keep warm Nicki! 💚🌱😊
Plot looking good as always mate! Mega ground frost overnight here, few things looked pretty sad this morning. I bought some bargain dwarf fruit trees recently, potted them on today, bit early for pruning these glorified twigs but handy to know for the future 😂. Have a good short week and hope you enjoy your long weekend 🌱🌳🍎
Thanks mate! Oooo, we're all due some winteriness over the next week or so! It's meant to get pretty nippy!
Hahaha! I managed to grab a couple of discount miniature trees a few months back. Like you say, glorified twigs at the moment but there is always hope for fruit next year!
Thanks mate. I was meant to be going to Manchester, but bloody train strikes! But hey, we gotta do what we gotta do to get what we want but no politics on this channel!!
Take care and stay warm mate 😊🌱💚
Filling flexing bucket aswell and putting it on top of full wheelbarrow… I noticed that. Lol 2 trips in 1
Haha! Yes, of course! I want to make as less trips down there as possible! It's a right killer! Nice to hear from you mate! 😊🌱
Nice day today here. Only -5 C. Canada.
Hey! Sorry, only just seen this! It certainly is getting colder isn't it! Does it get much colder where you are in Canada? 😊🌱💚
We're having a mild winter so far. Minus 12 has been the coldest night so far. -40 is not uncommon in January and February.@@pots-and-petals
Your Compost looks good, Can I borrow a bit. You reminded me to do my Currant's, Thanks for the video
Thanks Graham! I was pretty impressed with the soil at the bottom too! I could have got another load out of it, but thought I'd leave it for next year!
Hopefully I'll be able to do the grape and gooseberries soon, but I didn't want to touch the grape with all the cold weather we are due this week!
Thanks Graham! Take care mate 😊🌱💚
It looks great. And a handsome Robin. Good point about the lid on plastic. I'll have to remember that. I've never sussed out how to use the black bin I have. Could I add water now ?
Robins have to be one of my favourite birds in the UK, just because of their little personalities and tameness.
It might sound a little silly, but I would add some warm water if you can and try and do it when we have a week or so above zero so it doesn't freeze in there. You really want to be trying to keep the heat in the bin, so I'd maybe add little and often if it's too dry in there for a little while and maybe add some greens in there to help increase the moisture 😊🌱💚
Wow your sedum held out much longer than mine did 🥶🥶. It was minus 4 here this morning and fog held on almost all 😢. Omg 😱 did you say that “C” word 🤶 😂. Too bad you can’t have a fire but luckily the working should help. Have a fab week Jake stay warm, Ali 🥶🇨🇦
Ps lazy no wasps yes 😂
Probably because we haven't dipped that low yet! Minus 4!! We're due minus 3 on Wednesday. For us in the south of the UK, that's colddddddd!!
Yep, that C word 😂 I'm normally a bit of a grinch until the 22nd. But i'm trying to channel my inner santa somehow 🎅
Take care Ali and stay in the warm! 😂💚🌱
