- This video tutorial explains how to create wet and damp looking materials in VRay for Rhino 7. The key steps in this video can be seen below:
0:22 - Creating a generic road material
1:30 - Adjusting the brightness of a texture
2:13 - Applying a reflection to the material surface
2:38 - Applying a 'Noise B' map to the reflection to create patchy reflections
3:00 - Adjusting the noise properties to create puddles
5:17 - Applying a bump texture to the material
6:17 - Combing a noise and a bump map together
Asphalt textures can be found here: www.textures.c...
This is really helpful! I have never found any other video better or clearer than this, especially the "map in the map" part.
Thanks Horan, glad it was helpful!
I agree, and really want to empathize this comment. This video achieves this effect in a superb way and breaks it down in an excellent way. Great job Tom!
Dude your videos are so good that I watched entire videos you till this date in 2 days
Amazing, glad they were helpful!
Looking great! I've been waiting for this one! Thank you so much!
Thanks Pantelis
Perfect for my British renders
I perceive two problems:
1.Doing so will make the puddle ( the watery part)is slightly raised, rather than concave as it really is.But if the water is shallow, the effect of this bulge is much like the surface formed by the tension of the water.
2.The ripple effect of the water is also not achieved.
