In short, it works out great. Meanwhile the Oklahoma city, they drafted 3 MVP and future HOF (Durant, Westbrook and Harden) back-to-back.
      And lost them all ...
The Oklahoma City could have the big 3, the chips holder, the dynasty... turn out to nothing but a stepping stone for other franchises.

Great video, but personally I would have commented more on just how legendary Dirk's 2011 playoff run was (arguably one of the greatest in NBA history).
Dallas was underdog in every series in 2011.
Once they beat POR, no one expected them to stand a chance against the TWO TIME DEFENDING CHAMPION Lakers, but Dallas absolutely destroyed them, sweeping LA and winning by 40 in game 4.
Against the young OKC thunder Dirk had 48 points in game one missing only 1 shot the entire game and had the greatest single game free throw shooting game in NBA playoff history.
Finally against the HEAVILY favored Miami Heat, Dirk made clutch play after clutch play in virtually every game that series, including the game winning field goal to complete one of the greatest comebacks in finals history, and one of the greatest upsets in finals history.

How can you say that Dirk was a choker when his numbers always increase in the playoffs? Against a very stacked west? The only series where he actually played bad was against the warriors in 07. He also averaged over 30ppg a lot in a playoff series, against Denver in 09, Wolves in 02, and against the thunder in 11 are on top of my head. His teams just wasn’t good enough. Dirk averages 25/10 in the playoffs(only 4 players have that statline in the playoffs) compared to his 21/7 in the regular season. Those numbers definitely are not for a choker.

defense rebs passing weren't in dirks game in the playoffs..he focused only on scoring and cost his team

    • @johncasino4399
      @johncasino4399 5 років тому +3

Asmosis Jones 1st of all, I just mentioned that he averages 10rpg in his playoff career which is equivalent to almost 2 seasons, so saying that rebounding is not a part of his game is wrong. 2nd, he’s a PF, not a PG, you don’t have to be a great passer to be a great player, what great players do is to make the right pass or to make the right decision to pass the ball and Dirk almost always makes the right pass because of him attracting double teams and mismatches. 3rd, team defense counts more than the defensive ability of an individual player and his teams his entire career are not known for their defense. Steph curry isn’t a good defender but GSW’s defense as a team is still one of the best. Also, scoring is still the most important part of the game no matter what, take the Gasol/Randolph/Conley era in memphis for example, they were a very good defensive team yet they can’t get through the hump because they didn’t have a perennial scorer like Kobe, Dirk, Durant, Wade, Melo who can score at will. Yes, other big guys may be better than Dirk when it comes to rebounding and defense but no other PFs or Cs come close to Dirk’s ability in the clutch.

In 2003 they made it to the western conference finals only to lose 4-1 against San Antonio. Probably would’ve won had Dirk not gone down with that injury . If onky

Career avg 25-10 playoffs all time never had any all star teammates (6 total in 21 years two were replacements) and like two all NBA players as teammates that's it that's all... Still won a title. Undefeated against pay gasol Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett in the playoffs swept them including pau twice once on Memphis once on la. Lost as a one seed yup worst series of his life at 18-8 ...super contract numbers today but beside the point also another first round loss 2010 to spurs as a two seed everyone forgets that because the following year he wrecked. He had had enough. But he won plenty of rounds usually the first and the rule at the time was 1-2-3 division then 4-5-6-7-8 and so fourth so 4-5 would usually have more wins then 2-3 sometimes so the seeding was always stupid like that Dallas would be the second most winningest team in the conference but fourth ... So the spurs or whomever is first faces them second round as opposed to the WCF which they changed around late 2000s

Present NBA Players who are in the "choker" status that can hopefully win a title to prove them haters wrong :
    Russ
    Harden
    PG
    Derozan
Lillard (proving himself right now tho)

I feel like harden might be this generation's dirk if he ever wins a championship. He's lead the rockets to the playoffs every season, he's regarded as a choker by many and he's been defeated by the warriors multiple times similar to the spurs and mavs.

Dirk was barely a good all-star form back before his championship He's maybe looked like the next Michael Jordan. all NBA players who have frustrations, struggles, choke, they all reach that goal. Even too we hope we can reach it.
