Wedding refers to the district of Berlin.
A rather left-wing district that was affected by the so-called Blutmai 1929, when the police cracked down on unauthorised demonstrations organised by the KPD. In the process, 33 civilians were killed and numerous demonstrators and bystanders were injured.
