    I'm taking the rest of the year off from editing/publishing to film new projects... and think of ways to improve the channel. I want to thank all of you so much for watching this year. It was a challenge but some really great videos got put out. Check the Community Page and my Instagram for updates and teasers of new things to come. Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! I'll see you in 2023!

    I have a 73 D300 dually that I use all year round (in Canada). Good tires are a must. I would also suggest adding new wiper nipples instead of the classic style; those tend to freeze until the engine warms up the liquid stuck in the tips. Bought a Dorman kit for around $20 and it’s night and day. Also changed the wiper arms but that’s because mine were really tired.

  • @mutantryeff
    @mutantryeff 2 роки тому +2

    Finding chains for my 36.5x14.5x16.5 tires on the rear of the dually is out of the question for me, as I wouldn't even want to put them on.

    Thank you so much for this video I have a 1987 Dodge Ramcharger practically as similar to your pickup look and layout wise and I'm giving this a watch. I'd like to ask how is your Alloyworks Alluminum Radiator is holding up I'm looking at getting one and I want to make sure if it's still up to par when you first installed It.

    I just got my hands on a 83’ Prospector and I’ve exclusively been using your videos and the Chilton manual to make repairs and mods. You’re really the only one out here doing these videos so I think I speak for every first gen Doge owner when I say, you’re the f*ckin man Jason!

      Thanks man! 83 Prospector?! That's awesome. Is it brown and tan? Another awesome 1st gen channel is Decent Garage. He has awesome fab skills I'd love to learn in the future. All his trucks are diesel. But yeah... the Dodge videos here don't do great, but I love making them. I love my D150. It's such a simple and awesome truck. I do highly suggest giving Decent Garage a watch as well: www.youtube.com/@decentgarage

The videos may not get the number but man they are very appreciated and getting used as a reference a lot!

    Hell yeah Jason! This winter I really winterized my truck by puttin a new rear main and oil pump in (hint to the rear main video you made ;)) and I just got some new second gen dakota wheels that have some more meat on them until I get some tax return money.and being that my truck is 2wd I have winter weight which is about 270 pounds of sand and my old tires on the box

    I always enjoy the Dodge truck videos as well as the others. I have a fairly sad looking '82 D150 shortbed with slant 6 and 833OD manual. Ater a good bit of non cosmetic work 5 years ago it runs well at 185k mi. The amount of salt used on Northeast roads is insane.

      Yeah it's just a basic Sony radio. I got tired of trying different eBay radios. I tried a beautiful RetroSound radio, but it had fitment issues because of the dash bezel. I think they may have come out with another radio that will work. But I'm using the Sony for now. It's not very cool so I didn't make a video about it.

    Hey dude, did you give up on the D150?

    • @JasonExplainsThings
      @JasonExplainsThings  Рік тому

      Hey there, short answer is no. I still have the truck, drive it, use it and love it. I don't make videos about it too often for a couple reasons. It doesn't need any work and drives great. And unfortunately people don't watch the videos I do make about it. But I still have scheduled videos about it planned.
      I look at videos about the Dodge as essentially for me, and you awesome folks that appreciate them. They tank on YT and often lose subscribers when I put them out. But they will keep coming. I'm sorry if that's frustrating on your end. YT creation is my second job, passion project, and I'm a one-man-band. I can promise a new Dodge video will be coming out in August.

  • @missingchin1826
    @missingchin1826 2 роки тому +2

    Yeah don't drive your first gen in the winter if your state uses salt. If you really need to drive it then have it undercoated because it will rust out like no tomorrow.

    • @JasonExplainsThings
      @JasonExplainsThings  2 роки тому +2

      Totally. WA doesn't use salt very much. My truck's frame is in beautiful shape. This video already had tons of steps to it, so undercoating had to wait. But I may do a video about that in the future if enough people are interested. I'm planning on using Black Fluid Film.

    • @missingchin1826
      @missingchin1826 2 роки тому

      @@JasonExplainsThings Yeah I’m jealous of WA. As soon as it is 32° in upstate NY the roads gets absolutely covered in salt and it stays that way until the winter is over. My trucks is already rusty but it ain’t too bad yet so I just decided not to drive it in winter. But if you end up doing a fluid film video I would love to see the results as I’ve been thinking about doing it myself
