It's great your getting more than you expected!! I looked at their 1000 watt light but got the one from a different company as it had features that for me are what I liked and can use. Being disabled, the remote feature is a big plus, and fully able to dim and built in timer. But Spider Farmer is an AWESOME company with excellent products IMO!!! I'm still jealous of your collection. 😅 HAPPY GROWING.... 🎃
I can totally understand why you chose another…. Those features are hard to beat! So far I like this fixture a lot, but it’s definitely been a learning curve with so much more light. I think I’ve found a happy place but may still scale back the shade cloth if I can to get them as much light as I can without causing negative reactions. Thanks as always for watching!! I will only start using my Spider mid next month when I bring some of orchids indoors. I feel a bit nervous about the proximity of the light to the plants. I will have to go by trial and error, I presume. A shade cloth seems to be working well for you 🤩
So far the shade cloth has been a big help! I want to pull the one piece off the front and maintain a very high light section but need to really sit and think first about rearranging the plants to suit that setup. Overall it’s a great light and I am VERY happy with the results. I have a new one coming soon…., hoping to get that video out by the weekend! Thanks for watching! Happy growing!
It’s definitely a great fixture! Way stronger than I expected and very easy to use. Only thing I would change if I could is, I wish it was dimmable. But what’s a little shade cloth? :)
@@CloudforestVibesOrchidsMore fair. You might be able to add an in-line dimmer. I know they make them for Twinstar LED’s, and they might work for this fixture as well

Hi, this is probably a dumb question but I am new to the hobby. With the current tank set up you have growing, do you have to go and water the orchids? I know that some orchids require daily misting. Please let me know :)
I'm shocked that the Bloomify cuthbertsonii pulled through because that was one sad sad plant. Now maybe one day if you move and have more space, you can get a Pleurothallis gargantua. Might as well have the biggest member of the genera, to show that they aren't all miniatures.
I LOVE the larger Pleurothallis orchids but some of them get truly large! I have a few on my list but cyanaea is at the TOP! One day…. Hopefully next spring…. I’ll have a lot more space! I too am surprised the little cuthbertsonii is hanging on, but I’m telling you, the tank is like a mythical healing chamber for set back and recovering orchids. They really do bounce back well in there. Now I just have to wait a few years to see if it’s the correct color var! 😝
