We are very pleased with their equipment. It really transformed our planting. Heading to a precision planting meeting this morning to see what they are up to now.
You had a very informative video a few years ago where you showed how to clean up and adjust gathering chains on your corn head. I can’t seem to find it can you tell me the name of the video to look it up or a link to it?
There is a lot of truth to that. We could farm all this ground with much older equipment. We couldn’t get it done with much smaller equipment because we would miss out on the windows of weather for planting and harvest. But, you are absolutely right. Buy what you can afford, and hire some things done if you can’t afford the equipment.
Every spring we have a handful of drainage tile pipes get clogged. We have to dig them up and get down in the hole with a spade and cut out a small section of pipe and replace it. The water will be drained in a day or two and you can fill the hole back in.
That's a lot of green equipment there, nice! What about the rig you guys use to inject manure into the ground.....I often wonder how you can attach a hose to it and run up and down the field without destroying the hose?
Thanks! The hose is actually ridiculously heavy and strong. It has a swivel where it attaches to the applicator so when you turn around the hose is usually rolling a bit instead of just dragging. You also lay the hose out in an S shaped pattern so you are never dragging the whole hose around. I should try to do a video next year showing how they lay out the hose pattern in the field so they can turn around without ever running over the hose...
Thanks for the videos they are so very informative. I cringe to think how much capital investment you have in just equipment alone! I think most people have no idea what it takes to bring food to the table.
I was drilling wheat with an old drill while driving a old tractor with worn ball joins. It required constant attention, looking back over right shoulder, looking ahead to stay straight, looking over left shoulder to see seeds dropping. A barely visible dot appeared in the sky. I had to wait until I went through the routine to see what the dot was. It was a jet fight plane using me for a practice strafing run. It pull up and roared close overhead. Was I ever glad to see that blue star, since I was close to the border of an Arab nation.
Actually you should check out my video from this summer where I went to an antique power show. There’s a really cool display that I went through on the video showing 100 years of planter technology...
Thanks! It takes a long time to get to the point of having this kind of a fleet of equipment bought and paid for. The fellow that I work for is in his 70’s and has made a lot of good business decisions in his lifetime. If I owned the row crop farm I guarantee my equipment would look a lot more like the machinery that my brother and I put up hay with. Lots of the big shiny equipment you see on farms today is not paid for yet.
I would have to have a small diesel motor on a trailer,to keep those hours off my tractor. I know it would be a pain, but it drives me crazy to put those hours on such an expensive machine.
bobby harvill yeah we like to use that little utility tractor or one of the old antique gas tractors to run the auger that fills the semis. Works pretty good.
Anybody else bothered by the "intellectual property" issue raised by John Deere? They claim it voids the warranty to work on your own equipment. They maintained that it is their design so it is their property, the knowledge on how to repair a J.D. product. I wonder what the validity is of a bill of sale.
Well, you have to think about it. They spend a ton of money making software. It's just where we are going as a society. Computer are the way of the future. If you don't like it,you can buy old machines.
I heard you say front wheel assist everytime you pointed out that it has the front pulling as well, is there difference between four wheel drive and front assist or is there a different drive train that makes one front assist but not true for wheel drive or is that just what you call it, hope you dont think this is taking a jabe, really wanting to know if there is a difference, we have cars that are all wheel drive but there not true 4 wheel drives so I know there are some differences in thise drive trains, thanks appreciate the video
Good question! In tractor lingo, a four wheel drive is an articulated 8 wheeler such as a John Deere 9330 (like the one seen in my latest video). A four wheel drive tractor has the same size front and rear wheels. Front wheel assist is basically the option to engage the front wheels if needed. That would mostly be any tractor with smaller front wheels than rear wheels and tread lugs on the fronts. If there is no front wheel assist the front tires are usually ribbed like wagon wheels.
Thanks! We run over about 1,750 acres. As for the value of the equipment, that’s an interesting question. It’s a lot, I know, but I’ve never totaled it all up. I know the red tractor would probably be worth about $200,000 and the combine would be in the $250,000 ballpark. You should check out tractorhouse.com and look through the different models for sale. It’s a good way to pass some time!
Very interesting. There is so much more to farming than most people ever think. I find it fascinating and your easy and relaxed manner make it very enjoyable to listen to and learn.
Just subbed and like what i see so far. But , Mr. Dodge brother, how are you gonna skip over the only Dodge in the video?!! With the snowplow, that thing looked to be sitting pretty low for 4wd pickup? Surely it is 4wd but sure didn't look it. Either way keep em coming and thank you for your time!
great video I am happy not seeing fount loader on your tracker too same with us we have the equipment to do the jobs on the farm none of the trackers we own to see the winter they all are inside every couple weeks they are check and run all with an engine get it paid mechanics to stand around anyways they could do that or he helper could take 4 people to do it all not a small operation here for other equipment, we have 30 skid steers some just does a job here we have cat loader to clean or unload bales or bring bales to the barns none of the tracks have been in any cow shit each machine does get washed each day to and each farm will not get the machine back after it had been serviced they get a different machine to have a spare machine for each dairy farm running 5 farms now with dairy we milking 300 head per farm now we have grain and wheat and last year potatoes too we are planning on more potatoes this year and onions this year too had a double greenhouse make we have started plants in it now seen as we outgrow it, are ready 50 thx 150 x 2 think it would be lots have the first tomato pick and sold them very fast locally
Not a farmer, just a Florida country boy. That aside, how about describing a "draper" header , as opposed to what other kinds are there. What are the "spotting" characteristics of the draper header?? Thanks, enjoyed the equipment tour.
Good question! We are lucky to have every field within a six mile radius of the drying and storage. Half of the acres are inside of a three mile drive. Also, the drive over grain pit holds half a semi load so it only takes around 12 minutes to dump the truck. It usually times up pretty good with the combine and cart. That is one reason we will probably always run an 8 row corn head.
How old is you 3033R tractor and would you recommend we buy one as a little yard tractor? We farm in the uk but nearby farmers say we farm more like American farmers 😂😂
That little tractor is a 2016. We really like it. The foot pedal hydro controls are really nice. It has electronic cruise control and you can adjust how reactive the hydro is. I’d recommend one for around the yard.

Very nice job of describing your equipment lineup. No errs, aws, or voids. Good job.
Thanks for the positive feedback, I’m glad you are watching!
Just came across your channel, like the content, like your style of presenting, you gained a subscriber.
Keep it up !
Thanks a lot! I like to give real life farm tours but this is the next best thing I think...
I used to install those precision parts loved every part of them excellent products
We are very pleased with their equipment. It really transformed our planting. Heading to a precision planting meeting this morning to see what they are up to now.
Great video!! Loved seeing everything!
Excellent! Happy Holidays
Nice fleet...just came across your channel and I have subbed.
Thanks! It’s great to have you!

Took me about 20 secs to like and subscribe!!! Great vid man! Just happened on this video. Pleasant surprise well done.
Thanks a lot Matthew!

Thanks! Merry Christmas to you!
Great choice for farm equipment!!! John Deere is the best! #1
nice tour of your farm equipment

after 40 years farming we found it takes what you can afford not what you need

You need a German Traktor.A Fendt!
I might be trying one this fall
top of the range ... wish we had that kind of gear hear in ireland .....
Ireland! That’s so cool!
We have a similar combine setup on our 1400 acre farm
It’s a good machine!
Sponsored By John deere
Actually we are sponsoring them 😂
It seems almost every farm youtuber has or has used a caseih 340 magnum. It's a very popular tractor I know, but they make other magnum options
Ha!
Cool video! Check our Chanel out for some swedish farming! Thanks :)
They will be SUPRISED how much
I'm not a farmer...but I love big ass equipment.
Hollow samolly! How can you make any profit with all of that expensive equipment?
It’s all scale. You need a lot of acres to divide the equipment cost over and you need big equipment to cover all those acres!
OK .....Time for the Rookie question......What a small Tile problems???
Every spring we have a handful of drainage tile pipes get clogged. We have to dig them up and get down in the hole with a spade and cut out a small section of pipe and replace it. The water will be drained in a day or two and you can fill the hole back in.

Did the modern seed planters and corn planters evolve from the basic grain drill?
Actually you should check out my video from this summer where I went to an antique power show. There’s a really cool display that I went through on the video showing 100 years of planter technology...
Excellent tour! I'd like to see it working in the fields. I'm sure that's impressive.
Thanks Tom! You can check out some of our other videos to see the equipment in action.
Love the video but, how can you afford all that equipment. ..especially JD ....
Thanks! It takes a long time to get to the point of having this kind of a fleet of equipment bought and paid for. Which operation are you referring to?
Dodge Brothers Farm and Ranch sorry,I was referring to using a tractor to power the bin augers.
bobby harvill yeah we like to use that little utility tractor or one of the old antique gas tractors to run the auger that fills the semis. Works pretty good.
You left out the most important equipment there, the Graco seats.
You have a nice set up. Good luck and God Bless😁
Anybody else bothered by the "intellectual property" issue raised by John Deere? They claim it voids the warranty to work on your own equipment. They maintained that it is their design so it is their property, the knowledge on how to repair a J.D. product. I wonder what the validity is of a bill of sale.
Yeah I’d like to see companies making it easier to service your own equipment. That would be a big selling point for me.
Well, you have to think about it. They spend a ton of money making software. It's just where we are going as a society. Computer are the way of the future. If you don't like it,you can buy old machines.
Well supplied outfit. It is good to see what other people are running. The Landall V.T. is a nice piece. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching!
your technology puts a lot of tech jobs to shame ,you have to know a lot of devices
You sure have an awesome lineup that is packed in that shed very tight. Great video
Thanks! I wish I was the owner...
good for city kids to watch , great film...
Thanks!
What does it take to keep that machinery rust free?
Interesting you should ask that.... im currently editing a video that answers that question.
Dodge Brothers Farm and Ranch I just watched the video. Very cool stuff! Thank you for the reply brother!
I fill y'all.
Thanks for watching! We farm in Delaware, Buchanan, and Benton counties in Iowa.

I like equipment tours. As an oldster myself, I’m curious about the smaller red tractor parked alongside the planter. A Farmall H?
That is actually my first tractor that I ever owned. My dad and I bought it together at an auction when I was 12. It is a Massey Harris 33 wide front.
Awesome Farming equipment nice to see
6430 has 120 horse
Actually according to the Nebraska test it maxed out at 117.32
Nice video. You speak very well.
Davidson Lankford thanks a lot!
Another scrap yard besides the case
Actually I really want to replace the case with a Deere.
Great video, nice farm.... your newest subscriber
Much appreciated! New vids come out weekly. Hope you enjoy them!
You and your landols
They are a mile better than the John Deere tillage equipment we traded off on them.
No wander my grandpa left his Deere plow and left in the weeds in the woods

Very interesting. There is so much more to farming than most people ever think. I find it fascinating and your easy and relaxed manner make it very enjoyable to listen to and learn.
Sadly most people don’t get to experience farming. I hope to shed some light on what it is like.
One more question, the Rumley have too much power for doing tillage? Probably get tired of tearing up the Landoll would be my guess lol!!
Yeah that old girl would rip the hitch right off the Landoll!

We have an 8285R on our farm with front duals
Does it have ILS?
The farm I work at we have a John Deere gator a lot older and it’s diesel
Wow I’ve never seen an old diesel gator!
just found your channel im from across the Mississippi river and just subscribed, good job.

for other equipment, we have 30 skid steers some just does a job here we have cat loader to clean or unload bales or bring bales to the barns none of the tracks have been in any cow shit
each machine does get washed each day to and each farm will not get the machine back after it had been serviced they get a different machine to have a spare machine for each dairy farm running 5 farms now with dairy we milking 300 head per farm now
we have grain and wheat and last year potatoes too we are planning on more potatoes this year and onions this year too had a double greenhouse make we have started plants in it now seen as we outgrow it, are ready 50 thx 150 x 2 think it would be lots have the first tomato pick and sold them very fast locally
Nice farm.
i believe the transmission in the 6430 is called a power quad
the quad range is the older style thats in the sound guard tractors
That is an astute observation Benny! I didn’t realize I even said quad range until I read your comment and went back and checked.
Great informative video
Thanks a lot!
Dodge Brothers Farm and Ranch keep em comin

Great video. You have a nice line of Machinery. I live on a farm by Reward Saskatchewan Canada
Thanks Kevin! I am fortunate to work for an organization that keeps the machinery line current and in good repair!
I just met a couple guys from Saskatchewan last week at a farm conference. Ever hear of William Baumann?
No I haven't heard of that person William Bunmann. Did he say to you where in Saskatchewan does he live at.
Lovely 👍
Machinery is in a lovely condition,
Thanks. We just got a chance to get everything washed up with a couple unexpected warm days in mid December!

Hello James! Great to have you here! I can’t believe I forgot to mention that it is a 16 row set up on 30” spacing
Can you do a starting up and tour of all of the equipment on the farm plze
Cool idea. Maybe in the spring. We have already disconnected batteries on the pieces of equipment that don’t have a cutoff switch.
@@dodgebrothersfarmandranch9206 ok dude thank you
I want to see more about that Rumley Oil Pull in the corner I seen!
I will do a whole video on that thing someday.

what about the Rummley Oil Pull behind the Landoll?
I apologize if you've mentioned this before, but what state are you in? Looks to be Kansas or Nebraska maybe? Somewhere's in that region I'm guessing.
Hey Benjamin, glad to have you here! You are a good guesser. We are in northeast Iowa.
