    The f373 was discontinued in North America before your video was produced, both your first and second option are the same stove with the two different door options, both are offered in black and a brown enamel but the decorative door one is also available in blue black enamel. As of January 2022 jotul makes 4 epa complaint wood stoves in North America (because the Oslo f500 and f500cf are the same stove with different doors) the list is f45, f55, f602, and f500. More thorough research should’ve been done or better explanation by a company claiming to train hvac. My family sold jotul as well as other brand wood stoves, jotul is my personal favorite and I currently burn an f500 v3 in my house. This seems more like a video selling the black Oslo than an informative one.
    Btw f500 is jotuls only catalyst woodstove currently with a bimetal catalyst instead of ceramic like other brands (vermont castings for example) use on their stoves with a 20yr combuster (fancy name for their metal cat) warranty (not sure where lifetime came from?)
    That’s my two cents take it for what it’s worth

    How did the Jotul Rangley come in?

  • @kevinf8310
    @kevinf8310 2 роки тому

    Does the Oslo v3 have a catalyst? The literature never calls it that, but it looks exactly like one. Is the honeycomb device (catalyst?) steel or ceramic? Thank you in advance.

      Yes the combuster with a 20yr warranty is a bimetal catalyst which has thermostatically controlled secondary air

    I have a very similar f500 jotule model...
    No side load....the thing rips and it will heat 3000 ft if its in the heart of the insulated house and you have good wood and a good baby sitter...
    Idealy for 2000 ft or under

      Might be f600 firelight if it has the top load feature

    O - S - L - O. You mean Oslo. It's the capitol city of Norway.

    How are all these stoves you picture burning don’t have an exhaust stack. Are they magic stoves?

    • @velvetjones
      @velvetjones 3 роки тому +2

      Many cast iron wood stoves have the option to route the exhaust out the back and directly through a wall behind the stove instead of going straight up. Haven't looked into these but I assume that is what is going on. Doing it that way makes for a cleaner looking install and gives you a little more surface area on top of the stove. It does mean that you lose a little of the heat that would have been transferred from the chimney pipe into the air in the room. However since you should be using double walled pipe it wouldn't have given off much heat anyway and shouldn't be noticeable in the room.

      Oslo like the city. Jøtul is a Norwegian company.

    The last 2 stoves reviewed are essentially the same stove (CF [clean face] doesn't have a lattice on the window whereas the regular Oslo has a lattice). Your review was inaccurate and misleading. Both contain catalytic combustors so your statement that the CF is non-catalytic is wrong. Both are the exact same size, have the exact same fusion technology, efficiency (LHV 84.7%, HHV 78.4%) and emissions of 0.5 gm/hr, and both can burn up to 10 hours according to their online specs and 12 hours according to Jøtul's intro video on the F500 Oslo . Both can heat up to 2300 sq ft Both come with either flat black paint or enamel paint. The CF offers majolica brown enamel whereas the Oslo offers blue-black enamel. Oddly at the very start of your review of the CF (3:15) you show an image of a majolica brown enamel stove and then proceed to say it comes in flat-black only. Lastly, since when is a 15" chimney considered tall! 😂 Since they have the exact same performance and capacities the choice entirely revolves around available colors and whether you prefer a lattice window cover or clean face. It's silly to rank 1 ahead of the other when their performance is precisely the same.
