The A380s are having some issues right now, BA are aware of them and hope to have them sorted once the cabins get upgraded.

I'm flying on an A380 from Dallas-Fort Worth on the 28th to London Heathrow aboard British Airways. Hope my experience is better overall at the Premium Economy level.

It's a real shame how the experience flying BA, along with most other airlines, let's be honest, have gone down the drain. I've flown with them a lot over the previous two decades, mostly upstairs on the 747's, and it was always a good experience. I long for the old experiences pre-2000 when service and meals were good no matter which big airline you used. It's sadly been a race to the bottom since then.

What a shame that your BA flight was not good, I flew on that particular 380 some months ago and all was fine, the air bridge issue at LHR was not the fault of BA but certainly it shouldn't of happened. The non working IFE does seem a common problem with BA I had a similar experience on a BA747 flight to LHR from DC some years ago.
It was good to hear that the cabin crew did a good job and how professional did that captain sound? .

Try flying 18 hours to the Falklands with Airtanker. No charging no entertainment at all. Just have to suck it up buttercup. Charge that iPad up next time!

Wow that’s brutal man! I would not like being on that long of a flight with broken IFE and in seat power. That also is pretty tough they made the connection to MSP close, but glad you made it which I just saw a video of the leg to MSP as well!

I have recently had a bad one. Sep 13. Miami -London upper deck A380. Everything was a bad experience. The crew with attitudes. I remember the same flight 3 years ago was the opposite experience.

I took my Mum to Dubai for a holiday last year and we had to sit in economy on a 777 on the outward leg as P.Economy was full. It was HORRIFIC! I felt physically sick when I sat down as the seat was so tight, and the seat back in front so close... It was the first time in 20 years I had flown economy and swore it would be the LAST. We came back in PE and that was fine.

It's a pity there are no US airlines running the A380 or you could have tried them. The Concorde and now the A380 have been a thorn in the side a lot of American aircraft fans. The fastest and the biggest and not an American in sight. That's got to hurt.

Seems quite bad on the IFE side, my IFE onboard a 787 with BA started overheating then reset itself!

That's a shame how bad it was... I was hoping to fly on an a380 out of DFW but maybe I should skip it. It's a far, far cry from my own transatlantic flights in 2022 to and from Paris on Air France out of DFW, which were great flights all around. Heck, when I traveled direct to London on American Airlines a number of years back, at least the charging ports and the in-flight entertainment worked. Wasn't the best flight but at least the plane didn't seem like it had seen better days.

I have lost count of the amount of flights I have been on where the IFE crashed including 2 Qatar Q suite flights, unfortunately it happens it’s not unusual for any carrier, at least the crew were friendly and you had good food so could have been much much worst. Thanks for sharing

Great Video! Does every Economy seat had an entertainment system? (Screen, etc.)

    • @theplanesguy
      @theplanesguy  Рік тому

Yes, except that every entertainment screen on this flight, on the entire plane were broken.

That’s bad to not have working IFE but things break, tech isn’t perfect unfortunately. What is BA supposed to do? Delay the flight further or cancel it because there are no movies and maps? I don’t know if it is fair to base the whole review around the non functional tech because really it sounds most other things were okay (although legroom didn’t look great as you pointed out.) I recently flew FRA-EWR on a lovely B747-8 where the IFE at my seat was basically unusable. Yes, I did have charging but the screen interface was too slow to use. Disappointing, and I could get on Lufthansa for not updating to a newer system, but I still maintain it was a lovely plane and a good flight otherwise. I guess it is managing expectation versus what is really important, and honestly the service, food and view make up a little for not being able to watch Young Sheldon reruns.

I flew on the BA A380 "LED" from LAX to LHR lat fall and that plane also had IFE and wifi issues.

Maybe after you’d discovered your IFE troubles you could have offered your seat to the lady who wanted to sit there.

The entertainment situation you showcased is absolutely unacceptable for an airline such as BA who pride themselves on being such a posh and fancy carrier.

The only things they got going for them is their flight crews and catering, everything else... not so much! Thanks for watching!
