I'd love to see your answer for the question at 7:30! Also, this video is not meant to be my review for either of these seasons, at the end of the day, as a Ninjago fan who loves anything the show puts out, I love both of these seasons immensely. Today I had to put on a bit more of an objective hat on for the sake of the video, but if you want to see how much I as a fan actually enjoyed Master of the Mountain check this video out! ua-cam.com/video/cMQHaXy6--8/v-deo.html. I noticed how much screen time the geckle and munce got in MOTM that we needed to see more of Vania taking over the guards from vangelis and how I’m prime empire we needed more screen time to Scott and Racer Seven instead of Just 4 episodes of Okino and the ninja moving around the prime empire world which yes is good for okinos development you could at least speed it up a little bit so we have more time for Jay and the rest of the NPC’s
Personally prime empire has always been one of my favorite seasons, I felt like all the side characters were really well built up and they all had a part to play in the story, they weren’t just there for the sake of being there. I also just really liked Jay and Nya’s dynamic that season. It might not be the most serious season, but that’s kind of why I like it, It’s a nice breath of fresh air. Also a lot of the animation that season was really cool. I hope this all makes sense lol 😅
personally i prefer prime empire over MOTM i enjoy how wacky the season is with how insane a concept it was the side characters like okino and racer 7 were really engageing and unagami is a cool villain MOTM isn't bad by any means but next to prime empire i don't rewatch it often like i do with prime empire between the two i enjoyed prime empire more and it is easliy one of my favourite seasons
Great video my friend, it's funny cuz I feel like I've been saying this topic for years now at this point since after Master of the mountain came out. In my opinion I've always liked Prime Empire better than Master of the mountain. For pretty much all of the reasons you listed in this video. Again while Cole's story in master of the mountain is fantastic and absolutely moving and needed and I don't think anybody again can debate that, one story line cannot make up for the rest of the season in my opinion feeling a bit Bland. Compared to the bright colorful dynamic, digital Warfare that we had in Prime Empire as well as all of the other character arcs that you mentioned. It's nice to see somebody bring this up again I feel like Master of the mountain is very overrated most of the time. And on the other side of the same coin I feel like Prime Empire is definitely underrated.
i think prime empire should have been a pixel/jay season (no shipping) like all the 4 ninja got cubed and zane is still off so its up to jay and pixel to save the day. because i feel the season didnt focus much on them there were like only one episode about pixel explaining that she more then a program. and jay admit that he was abandoned by his parents. if they expanded more on that it was gonna be much better.
2:01 definitely agree while i did enjoy most of the 11 minute era of seasons they felt to disconnected too one another 3:37 now i kinda want too see Shintaro in Dragons Rising EDIT: 9:18 interesting personally my favorite 11 minute era season is seabound or Crystalized part 1
7:30 I'd argue the MOTM fight is alot better here. This fight shows a Wu that's come out of his shell and is starting to take charge again, as a really satisfying payoff to his development over MOTM, whilst Prime Empire's fight just feels like hollow action to me. The only real substance here is Unagami lashing out which was fleshed out so poorly that I find it really hard to care about it personally
Great video! I think I prefer Master of the Mountain a little more because Cole is my favourite ninja but also because I feel like they could have done a lot more with Prime Empire. In Master of the Mountain, it seemed like mostly every ninja got some storyline, while Prime Empire felt like it was more focused on the side characters.
I like Master of the Mountain more than Prime Empire because both have good ideas, concepts, and interesting villains, but I really felt Unagami doesn't have enough good evil motives and, being a kid, wants love, and in the final battle, Jay just easily talks him down. I quite Unagami design but I just hate him as kid and wish prime empire has awesome battle like tron
I respectfully disagree with what you said in this video. While Prime Empire in concept is more interesting, it is the execution that matters. One, The side characters in Prime Empire are a bit weaker in my eyes than the side characters in MotM. When I go to watch Ninjago, the thing I want most is to see our main characters grow and change. Having a season where the Ninja helping side characters is a good concept, but that season only works if the side character(s) is/are a reflection of our main character, or if they challenge our main character in some way. Take the episode “Benefit of Grief.” It is an episode where Zane and a side character are running from the police. The side character has struggles of their own, and Zane gives them advice of how to handle their situation. The side characters struggles were a reflection of Zane’s story at the time and through that character, Zane learns something about life. Another good example of this is Ronin and Nya’s relationship in Possession. Nya is our main protagonist who is struggling with her fear of failure. Ronin is a selfish businessman and criminal who works alone and doesn’t quite care about having friends or being there for people. He only does things to serve himself. Once Kai gives him all the Ninjas share of the tea farm, Ronin is just there to make a fortune. Then he meets Nya, someone who cares so much about success at everything she does and will do the easy thing to get out of having to face something she isn’t good at. Through Ronin, Nya learns to not care so much about failing, and through Nya, Ronin learns the importance of caring for people and having friends, rather than pushing them away. They are characters who bounce off of each other and learn things through each other. While they could’ve done this in prime empire with Zane and the AI characters, they choose NOT to. As much as this bugs me, it also brings up an even greater issue with the season: None of the main characters grow or change in any way. The Ninja help side characters and I wouldn’t have as much problem with this if those side character’s arcs were actually very well done. Racer 7 is just a watered down version of Okino. (Writing this now, I do believe Okino had a solid arc.) Scott doesn’t have much of an arc at all. His backstory is compelling and he has the potential to be a good side character, but his switch from being unmotivated and to being motivated is sudden and caused by nothing. Master of the Mountain puts our main character Cole, through many challenges, one of which being his leadership skills. Cole is tasked with leading 3 unmotivated adventurers back up the mountain. At first, Cole looses his patience and becomes very frustrated as he leads the Upply back to where they started. But with the help of Wu and especially Vania, Cole becomes more confident and leads them back up to the surface. The Upply eventually become more willing and determined and learn that even in the worst situations, you can always pick yourself back up and keep trying. Wu also has a similar struggle, feeling as if he is not needed anymore and neglecting his duties as a Master. Cole feels as if he can’t do the burst nor live up to the legacy of his Mother. He feels unworthy. Wu, through Vania’s inspiration, realizes that no matter how well he can help in his old age, he has a job to do and a duty to serve. No matter what, he will never quit on himself.

GREAT 4 CORNER LEGO NINJAGO MASTER OF THE MOUNTAIN ⛰ FAILURE AND PRIME EMPIRE SUCCESSFUL.

Definitely a weird allocation of screen time on both seasons

Wowwwww bro incredible perspective. I agree with you
EXCELLENT 4 CORNER WORK.

Hey there! Great to see you again, and yup, couldn't agree more.

Yea Jay's feelings weren't built up enough. Missed potential imo
It had good ingredients, the 11 minute formate and shorter season just didn't work for the ideas they were trying to convey
@@4cornersE tbh i still dont know exacly why did they make it a 11 mins per episode.
2:01 definitely agree while i did enjoy most of the 11 minute era of seasons they felt to disconnected too one another
3:37 now i kinda want too see Shintaro in Dragons Rising

I know right, Shintaro would look awesome with an animation update!

Nah, I think it is the complete opposite.
