They don't use stainless steel for the spider because they want you to buy a new washer every 5 years. If you insist to change the bearings and the spider, that will not be economic once you factor in the cost of parts and labour. The only way to sort out manufacturers is to have 3rd party ESG reporting similar to energy efficiency. Based on this video, on an ESG star rating that washer would get 2 out of 5 stars - 2 because at least you can change the bearings and spider unlike most other washers.
A while ago on UA-cam, you ask me a question about your LG washer. I just thought I’d let you know that I have now made a complete playlist to assist you in any repairs that you ever have. This should be a reminder to do regular hot washes (60°C and higher). That not only keeps the machine clean and mould-free, but also lengthens the machine's lifespan by a very sizeable amount!
I totally agree with you I did a video on mould which emphasises what can come out of a machine that you think is clean. I've time to stamped it, so you don't have to watch the whole video ua-cam.com/video/HnS87Tw4amM/v-deo.htmlsi=crDPbNobGyb6g63n&t=1702
I appreciate this video immensely as i have this exact issue.... I work with fixing/dismantling machinery and wiring but, this is most definitely not a job i would like to spend my time on... Its sad to say, but my 12 year old washer is no more 😕 thankyou
Brilliant video, I have a Samsung with an add wash door. Coming up with DDC code. I was going to inspect the wiring and plug at the main door hinge as movement in that seems to stop the code popping up sometimes. Got any videos on removing that door, or is it much the same?
Tried replacing the spider in mine as it broke the spider in these machines are so fine it corrodes as soon as detergent hits it really mines been apart so many times as the bolts holding the spider in keep coming loose lucky I brought some threadlock hopefully it cures it Would expect better though from such a expensive machine

can you please help me with a problem I have with my samsung 6kg washing machine. it turns on starts working then turns off and won't turn on again.. i have to unplug it and leave it for a few minutes then it barely turns on. as if going through a short circuit
Very good video. Can the metal bearing holder that sits inside the plastic outer housing be fixed. The bearing holder has 6 metal fins on which it slides into the plastic outer drum. This is loose in our machine.
Hi. I had an open circuit solenoid that feeds the condensor and replaced it. All fine. However I notice at around 25 minutes into the video the "baffle" that is inline to the condensor is fitted in the opposite direction to the one shown in the video. Any ideas why that might be?
Paul, nice meeting you! Greetings from Moldova! Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Is 3E a motor problem only? Machine stops in midcycle doing nothing. I press start again and machine continues where it stopped. Once I did get 3E error though. Thinking to change the hall censor. Motor wires checked. Your opinion greatly appreciated!

@@How-to-repair Paul, thanks for your response. It looks like the calibration fixed the problem. If it will reappear, I'll send all the info. God speed!
I agree 100% regarding stainless steel spiders! I had mine custom made for one of my projects, and it was 80 Euro (approximately £70). I searched for the original Samsung spider on a UK website, and it is roughly the same, sometimes even more expensive than the stainless steel one I bought! On another note, I was wondering, would a Vestel motor (made by Welling) fit the module of Indesit IWSC61251? The motor specifications appear to be the same, 17000rpm and 300W. Thanks in advance!
If the pin configurations to the windings and brushes are the same and everything else matches up, they should work, but I can't guarantee you because I have not got the motor in front of me to check
Hi, really great video but one question : I have a samsung WF0714Y7E and need to access the tube that go from drum to the filter part (error 5E and I know the problem is here, we washed a carpet and it loosed a lot of him inside the machine) but I can't remove the front panel and not saw screws at the bottom of the machine. Do you know what avoir me to remove the panel ? Thank you very much, all the rest was quite easy to found by myself ;)
I agree that it the aluminium spider isnt the best choice in terms of durability. But simply saying that it wouldnt cost more to make it out of stainless steel is simply said than done. Not only is steel more expensive. The casting process is a little harder than aluminium. The added weight also affects the whole machine, you will need a more powerfull motor to get it spinning. Also all the added weight adds up to shipping costs, from part manufacturer all the way to the end supplier.
Hi Paul, thanks for the video. I have the same model and the drum is no longer centered. Everything works fine until it gets to the spin cycle-because the drum isn't centered, it won't complete the cycle. Do you think it could be the spider or something else? I wonder how could I recenter the drum? Thanks in advance!

I've got a stumper for you Paul. I have a samsung ecobubble washer 11kg WW11K8412OW. Replaced the spider. performed a calibration cycle. Now after a cycle the door latch clicks open and closed intermittently till it turns off, door is locked so you can't open it. You have to turn it back on for it to open, then it starts the cycle again while the door is open. I have two of these so I swapped out parts from the good one, swapped the main controller, display controller and the whole front panel/door. It still continues to click the door unlocked and locked after each cycle. Can't find anything on google or youtube even mentioning it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers from Oz
