Really resonated with what you said about race as a mixed mother with “white” baby girl! Love watching Rue on TikTok, but really love seeing more of you on here. Your content is so comforting 💗

You are a wonderful mum and person Sian, you have such an amazing calm demeanour and constantly blow me away with how witty you are and how you can effortlessly pass on knowledge to others.
I’m very sorry someone felt compelled to comment such garbage about you. Rue is lucky to have you as her mummy

I want to add something to the racism part. It really got to me (still sobbing tbh) and I think Sian explained wonderfully. But in my opinion, it goes much further than race.
Me and my husband are both white. But where he is the lightest shade of blonde, has the brightest blue eyes and almost transparent skin color, I have much more darker features. Very dark hair color, dark eyes, light brown/yellowish skin. Blonde doesn’t even describe the color hair our son (10 months) has. It’s literally white.
Everytime I’m out with our son I literally get stopped in the streets by friends, family and mostly strangers who feel the need to tell me that I have a very cute boy, but that he doesn’t look like me at all. That shit hurts! I look at him and like Sian said, I see my smile, my dimple in his chin and so much more.
And what hurts te most is knowing that people don’t notice what they are causing and just continue with their day. So please, please, please stop commenting on stuff without thinking! If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it.

Exactly this. It is hurtful and I’m sorry that people feel the need to go out of their way to make those comments to you. People really need to think more carefully before they speak! 🤍

I watch your vlogs when I’m on the stair climber in the gym. They keep me really calm and focused! Happy your feeling so motivated workout wise! I had a pandemic gym break that turned into 3 years 👀 I’m 2nd month back, at my own pace, and wow my mind! Sending you the strength 🙏🏽
I saw the comment on your titkok and felt so angry. I’m a mixed race child from a mixed race mum. It’s so complicated the relationship with your own ethnicity/heritage, that anyone, troll or not making comments cuts so deep. It’s so personal. I’m sorry you had to see that.
Last point, (excuse the essay) I love that your vlogs are a mixture. It makes it feel so real and authentic. I don’t watch vlogs that are about specific things because it’s usually not something that interests me, except pregnancy vlogs lol! So here for the mismatch vlogs, would love more though 😉❤

Aha, sounds very similar to my pandemic gym break (minus the Rue!). I'm glad you're enjoying it again.
Yeah you're absolutely right, it's so complicated isn't it. People really don't get it but I know there are so many other mixed race people out there who will understand exactly the feeling

I really enjoy the vlogs, but I would also love to see other types of videos (for example, like you mentioned advice videos - a lot of the tips you’ve shared so far have been really informative and helpful, thank you)
Your personality shines through everything you do so I’ll happily watch anything you decide to post 🥰❤

So sorry you recieved that comment. 😕 my husband says he's sometimes uncomfortable out and about with our children due to people's looks, which is just so sad to me - he is black, I'm white and although our children do look very like him feature wise, they are white, blonde and blue eyed like me. X

It’s so sad. I wish I could say it doesn’t bother me but it’s impossible to not be bothered by it (I’m sure your husband feels the same!) much love 🤍

I’m sorry to hear you experienced such racist comments. I can’t imagine how horrible it must feel. I’ve seen a lot of times (on TikTok) they come from Christian hard right who are obviously extremely repressed maybe it is passive aggressive behavior but overall it’s the way they’ve been taught by their racist parents ti not accept “the other.” I’ve seen this in N Ireland as well who as you know is extremely divided. And while there it’s not about color but more so about nationalism and religion the hate is similar- one thinks it’s more superior than the other. But do know you have a lot more people who love and appreciate you and Rue. I certainly think you’re both unique because of who you are. So please keep sharing with us. ❤

I pronounce your name as is Sian -like I am not sure why people don’t get it. In the US we spell “Shawn” as such or “Shaun” and also spelled it “Sean”. So strange people there think it’s Shawn 😂

It’s funny, my name is Siân but I live in Ireland so nobody has heard of it and they pronounce it Sian (like your name) most of the time! I just say ‘it’s actually pronounced Siân’ but I give up on people when they don’t even bother trying to pronounce it properly 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @SianStephanie
      @SianStephanie  2 роки тому +1

How funny! My mum’s family are Irish so I guess it is just the more common pronunciation there. We can’t win 😂
