Awesome video!! You explain everything. Love how you teach us how to do everything. What colors did you use for the pecans? Do you have a Facebook page to follow?
Thank you so much Sheila! The pecan colors are: a base coat of Latte and add "watered down" brown velvet into the grooves and then sporadically "brush and wipe off" more watered down brown velvet until you get the darkness you like. Sorry I don't have a how too facebook for fakebake. As you can tell I have a number of hobby and homestead passions! If there is anything in particularly I can help with.... please feel free to reach out to me. I do have a etsy store if there is something on there that you woule like to learn.... let me know! Blessings Elaine
Do you just leave the mold to set at room temperature, or in the fridge or freezer? If you use something like a banana or peach slice, so they need to be frozen solid too? TFS.
Yes - leave the mold at room temp. It will set up quickly. And yes freeze anything soft so that When you are pushing them into the mold you will still be able to pick up all of them they are little fibers and grooves. When you take them out of the freezer pat them with a paper towel to remove any condensation, otherwise they will soak up the corn starch. Hope this is useful!
The base color for the cookie is a blend of Yellow, Tan, Marshmellow & White. Blend each to get your desired color (cookie dough) and once its dried you will water down Milk Chocolate color and lightly brush on to look like baked.
Hi Nida.... basically you want to put about 1-2 cups of cornstarch on your plate. Enough to be able to make a pool area. The amount of silcone you use will be based on the size of the item that you are making a mold of. To make the pecan mold, I used (from the looks) approx 1/4 cup. It would be nearly impossible to determine the measured amount. My 4 piece pecan mold came out 2" x 4 1/2" x 3/4" high. As a trial... not to waste produce. make a pool in your cornstarch, put your item in the middle, make sure its is 1/2" on either side, above item and bottom (without touching the plate) remove your item.... this is the amount of silcone you need. Start mixing, create your mould! Hope this was helpful!
Absolutely wonderful! Such a great idea and the tutorial was perfect. You are great at explaining a DIY. 😊
Awesome

Looks like you used all the silicone maybe cutting the tip off would make it easier to come out. TFS
I have tried to find the same silicone product in my area. Where did you purchase it??
Hi SV try on Amazon, I believe that is where I purchased mine.
