    GMC engine 228 248 270 (probably) or possibly a 302. Engine cid is stamped on block next to where distributor goes in. Very good engines!

    It's surprising that there aren't more COE trucks around, they put those to work doing everything from powering school buses to hauling feed at the local mill.
    I had a 1950 chevy 3/4 ton for 30 years, got it second hand from my grandfather.
    Your big red there, looked in pretty good shape, hardly any rust. Nice. 😊

    I can't believe the prices these things are fetching now, even the cabs alone.

    • @DolloffAntiques
      @DolloffAntiques  11 місяців тому

      Model a fords and many other early cars had them but what vehicles of the 50s had a updraft like this truck?

      @@DolloffAntiques didn't say it wasn't rare to fine one on a street vehicle... but being in the Agricultural and Industrial field they are commonplace especially in that era

    • @DolloffAntiques
      @DolloffAntiques  11 місяців тому

      @michaeljones4478 we do cars and trucks so that's what I was talking about in this 1950 Chevy truck.. Lots of earlier vehicles do have them though.

      @DolloffAntiques IF I might make an educated guess, I'd say there's a solid probability that both Ford & Mopar trucks of same vintage & type. Along with probably multiple military vehicles, of the era heavy snow plow trucks(twin Buddha engine type comes to mind) airport/military, self powered equipment(smaller carry cranes[Drott for one] used those type of set ups well into the 70s) - though I know the last one is out of the scope you set here.
