When i first saw your video i was very sceptical. I have sat today and watched it and i have to say out of all the tutorials i have watched ( and trust me there have been so many) Yours made more sence to me than any others. So thank you and Merry Christmas to you
Thank you so much for the kind comment! That means so much to me, especially since my channel is new and that was one of my earlier videos. Sometimes I don’t know if my videos are really watched or if they help anyone. So I’m always glad to hear when I made a difference or impact in someone else learning the banjo. I hope you have a Merry Christmas as well!! 😊
im not sure if you answer questions like this so sorry if i am overstepping the mark. My friend purchased me a 5 string Banjo under 200 pounds and the 5th string keeps breaking and after i play it for a short time i have to keep re tunning it which is frustrating.. I know its a cheapy one so i have been looking on line today for a better one and found a Deering Goodtime 2 banjo. Its around 500 pound plus so i want to make sure its a good one to start with. Or maybe anything you could reccomend under 600 if possible.
@@JuneARMiles You can always ask these kinds of questions, and I will do what I can to answer them. I know many people that recommend the Deering Goodtime banjos. I have a cheaper Fender banjo that I play part of the time. It’s not the greatest, but it’s good enough for learning. I would checkout forums on Banjo Hangout or reviews before you buy.
you probly just helped me more than any other. i've been playing other instruments for 30 years, and i am struggling with these rolls. lol Just picked up banjo a couple weeks ago and its like im turning my brain inside out. but i love it. and thank you

How you doing hunter!!.. I've been playing the guitar for many years and one day I was at the guitar store they had this banjo hanging on the wall and it caught my eye, I've always loved the tone of the banjo so here I am I subscribed to your channel.. I thought it would be pretty similar to a guitar but it isn't lol.. I'm willing to learn how to play the banjo..
Complete beginner.. I’ve been playing guitar for 40 odd years and literally starting out with bluegrass banjo and your lessons are excellent
Thank you, I appreciate that. Good luck on the banjo!!
Thank you for these rolls !! 👍👍
Thanks for checking out so many of my videos!
I enjoy bluegrass very much so I want to use learn these rolls. You have a very knowledgeable channel.
Great tutorial! No sense jumping right into the deep end, slowly work your way there at your own speed. This was well put together. Thank you Sir!
Thank you, I really appreciate that! My UA-cam channel has been kind of slow, so I appreciate the encouragement.
All good things take time. Very good tutorial...
Thank you, I appreciate that!!

Good luck!! I hope my videos are helpful to you.
These rolls are really helping me and while I have played guitar for years I am brand new to the banjo and I have subscribed. Are you really in Peru?
I’m really glad to hear that, Jim! Thanks for subscribing as well.
Yes, I am living here currently. I am from Tennessee, but my wife is Peruvian.
