    Why all the damn negativity? He’s making a living just like the rest of us… He’s not taking from anyone. Anyone could have went in And bought them the same as he did?? But they didn’t! He is simply running a business as anyone else would. Get a grip, people! The racist comments are uncalled for…

    • @sundoesshine8800
      @sundoesshine8800 4 роки тому +1

      Ryan Lewis Oh I agree 110%. I dont know why, but it bugs me that people assume that their mission is to help clothe the poor. (although such a novel idea). When it's really just to make as much $ as possible. In fact they pay to landfill instead of offering to the poor-for free-or recycle, then praise themselves of being the greenest co in the world. Their money is made on the backs of workers who have no other options so won't fight back. They treat the recipients of their missions w more dignity than the sweatshop workers generating the $ to fund them. Then they use those millions to advertise how much good they do.

    The goodwill stores where I live seem to have caught on to resellers as they have high prices, some stuff over retail. They figure people will pay up or wait till it goes on sale. I guarantee you those Sorel boots would have been researched and priced probably around 50 or $60 at Goodwill here! Deals are hard to come by and less you go to smaller independent thrift shops or other thrift stores other than Goodwill.

    • @LazyIRanch
      @LazyIRanch 4 роки тому +3

      I never go to Goodwill for that reason. I have a couple of sources near me that are great thrift stores who really help our community. The proceeds help homeless and poor with food and clothing and vouchers for motels. Their prices are fair, and they often have great bag sales, everything you can fit in a bag for $5. I can easily get a dozen items of clothing that way. One of these shops is in a beautiful mountain village where many residents are wealthy retired people, many were in the entertainment industry. I have found fantastic bargains on top of the line items there.

    The only problem with those Panasonic cordless phones is they are on the same frequency as standard 2.4Ghz Wifi. And because Panasonic is the 'owner' of that Freq range they can use more powerful amplifiers that Wifi is allowed. When we had a lot of those phones we had endless wifi issues.

    Had a somewhat similar story happen at a store I was at a few months back just covering for the owners as they were away... guy comes in with a gold 1 oz. maple I take a look at it and first thing I do is put it on the scale and it comes back at something like 28 or 29 grams. Warning bells are going off in my head, so take a magnet out and it sticks to a magnet. After looking a little closer on the side with the maple leaf the veins of the leaf were very crude and without any detail... just a single line. Told the guy it was a fake and he left. I did a little research after and you can find them all over a certain popular Chinese website.

    Here in MN I buy winter boots all summer on the cheap, usually end up with 50-60 pair by the time fall comes around. They tend to sell very well for us. Especially the Canadian made Sorel's and Baffin's. The newer "China" made Sorel's are OK, but not made nearly as well, and tend to sell for a bit less than the older versions.

    My wife and I bring things to Goodwill for people that can’t afford things. Now that I know people with businesses are going there to sell them for marked up prices I will no longer bring anything to Goodwill. We don’t get anything for dropping anything off there, they’re dropped off for free and expected to just be cleaned up and Marked for a few bucks so the less fortunate people can get them.

    I think you did well on the SOREL boots. I would have snatched those for sure. $50 should be the low end of the range in my (not entirely informed) opinion.

    I bought a full set of china at Value Village for $22. The stamp was Royal Doulton, so I googled the pattern & found out their worth. If I sold every piece for what they were going for on eBay they were worth $800. I’m not sure if I should try to sell the set as one unit for a couple of hundred or sell to places that provide missing/broken pieces to people. I actually bought another China set there worth a lot but I’m going to keep that & use it.

    Can you do a video on how to sort the listings on Craigslist? How to tell the difference from resellers with already high prices from "just someone looking to sell stuff as cheap as possible to get rid of it". It seems like lots of stuff on Craigslist is already being sold at retail prices, is there a way to quickly look through the listings or does it just take experience?

    Size 9 in women's boots seems to be the most popular size. I got $100.00 for men's size 10 used witch seems to be the most popular size in men's. Most people will get one size larger in boots to have room for insoles and thicker socks. It's that time of the year and I believe you will get $120.00 new with tags and even more if you can find a boot box of same brand. A lot of shoe store's will give you there boxes if you can't find them in their dumpsters. Please let us know what they go for and how long it takes. Thanks, Bo

    I'd put the Snowlion boots at about $43.95. Used are selling around $20 - $30.

    Ok so there’s been times I’ve had some jewelry and a watch in my past that was given to me from friends and some elderly that told me it was real. I took it to the pawn shop and they told me it was all fake. I had no idea. I don’t know real from fake. So I hope they don’t think I was trying to “scam” them. I was told it was real. So I assumed! I was so disappointed those days. I really needed money too. Lol.

      MOST pawnshops will tell you its fake so that they don't have to pay much, but, sell high. Next time take to a real jeweler.

    Lmfao, the “I’m not complaining” comment after he realized what he had just said could be interpreted as “complaining” by his wife who inevitably will later see said clip. Good save man.
