The displayed notes correspond to a portion of what you played, which sounded super. I think parts of these old tunes (it was a clan march before getting renamed After Aughrim, then being rendered into a reel as it seemed to be in reel time) were lost on moving from the harp to the lesser range of the pipes for the 18th and 19th century, when the last of the old Irish harpists died during the 18th. You may have recognized or even fixed something long broken here by taking the pitch right down on the fiddle and hinting at drones. Thank you. Go raibh maith agat as an fonn mall álainn a shein tú linn a Mhicheáil. Agus an ríl. But where are the written notes for the lower parts you played?
Thank you both for the lovely comments and insight into the tune itself. As far as the lower notes, they are simply the same notes as written but played an octave lower
BTW, I am able to play them an octave lower because I play on a 5-string fiddle with a lower C-string a fifth below the G-string. In other words, my fiddle has the range of both violin and viola.
Lovely rendition thank you sir, I’m learning this on tin whistle at the moment : )
Great song, thanks for making this vid
