- After a few weeks in Nepal, it is finally time to explore Durbar Square and Thamel, the beating heart of Kathmandu.
Durbar Square is perhaps the most atmospheric square we visited on our hippie trail. It is literally impossible to get bored here, there is always something to see or do that will grab your attention!
The short walk from Durbar Square to Thamel is also an experience that will end up high in our imaginary top ten.
Once you arrive in Thamel, the contrast couldn't be greater: restaurants, cafes, shops selling all sorts of knick-knacks aimed at tourists. But make no mistake, Thamel has an atmosphere that never fails to draw us back!

Who are we?
We’re An and Yves, a Belgian couple who share a passion for travel en adventure.
Over the years we took a couple of gap years on different occasions and right now we're travelling the hippie trail, which started on January 1 2023!
As said this is not our first travel experience but three years ago we started sharing our stories on UA-cam and Instagram. There has to be a first time for everything!
Our goal is to inspire you to follow your passion (big or small) and to see and experience the world with your own eyes.

You said you were vegan. Sorry, Yomari, Sel Roti are not vegan. Milk products are usually in every dishes in Nepal and India. Most sweets are made with milk.
We know ghee is used in the process, as in every dish on the Indian subcontinent...
You include Milk as non-vegan? 😮

@@AFlaneursQuest who ask you to Go Kakarbhitta with Your van ! I was just talking about Dharan which is far from Kakarbhitta by culturally, historically, religion and of course socially. I personally suggest you 2 get that Dharane local positive vibes once.
@@tongbaa7743 It's 'only' a 12hr drive one way from where we now, that's why it should have been more convenient if we could use Kakarbitta to go to India, instead of backtracking all the way 😥...
By the way, we've been to Dharan in 2008, loved the laid back vibe!
