As others below have mentioned, I can't imagine this will stay forever, but grass every other month becomes the most profit you can make off a field in game, including against poplar. 6 full harvests a year is insane. Get bored running the forage wagon after a while, but the money is clearly right there.
Yup, it's been proven over and over since FS25 released and with every patch since that waiting the extra month like increased in the yield in FS22 (mow when in "withered" state) does NOT increase yield in FS25. What Giants has been silent on though is whether this is a bug or intended. I get it Giants is on holiday, but would be really nice if you Giants Partners would hound them to give us an official answer, it's a pretty steady chorus of questions and speculations. If it's simply "grass yield is working as intended" that's fine, we just need to know AND understand if it is intended to change. The way it's working in FS25 currently feels completely borked, after all this ISN'T Lawn Mowing Simulator.
ive been watching your videos for couple days now and thank you for ur guides. Super helpful im new to FS25 trying get used to the game. I sometimes feel like you own ur homestead yourself.
I was doing that in FS22 anyway; even with the 50% less yield, I did the maths and figured out I could get more grass harvesting it at the first stage because I'd fit more harvests in.
Can you do a video on the farmers market. What does it take to fill all the shelves, and does the player make money from having one on the farm I still have alot of open shelves with all the mushrooms and green house products being sold at the market
When you harvest in Nov, if you plow the grass field. Then immediately replant it in Nov, you get the first stage in March, meaning you can Cut in March, May, July, Sept, Nov.
The ideal harvest is about 3000 a 3500-kilo dry matter per hectare for grass to mow (grass height - 7cm)x230 = kg dry matter/ha, if you mow too late the matter becomes too heavy and you will have summer death from the grass because the young grass sprouts are soficating. Also, mow time is significant, in the morning the grass does not have high sucre content but in the evening you can mow because sucre content will remain the same. Now mow height is also important 5-6 cm to low your grass will not restart very good en you will have soil in the grass as well. So when to mow the grass in the Farming Simulator IT DOESN'T MATTER because this is not implemented yes you get more grass but not the benefits from mowing grass as is in real life which is important for realism.
In FS 22, I used to mow grass in March, May, July, Sept, and November, and repeat. In FS25, I've noticed that grass is no longer ready to mow in March if I last mowed in November. I always use grass rollers to restore the fertilization stage to 100%, but I think this is a change from FS22. Does grass no longer grow during winter so you can mow in March?
I noticed if you re-plant/seed in November the grass will start growing in December, if you do not re-plant in November then it won’t start to grow until March, even if you used the grass roller.
Has anyone seen a grass yield test done with the macdon grass mower vs regular grass mowers. Basically, does Macdonald get typical 25% yield increase vs other mowers?
Giants do really bad communicating this sort of stuff. I mean in the second stage there is visibly much more grass there. Thats how it used to work in the past. Why change now.... Also i think its quite dumb you reduce your yield if you drive over the swaths. Im so hoping this is just a bug and not intentional.
There are so many things wrong in FS25....... I hate it now! It's the worst FS ever! I can change the lane assist only 1x per field, harvester headers are sticking into the ground, helpers don't do anything except collecting money, other field owners don't plant their own fields for more than 5 years, snow in June and July, the calendar shows me: sun is coming for the next 8 hours but all I can see is rain or hail, and there's a lot more wrong with the game! It's definitely my last FS!!!
I haven't tried for bales, but at 1x speed grass will be 80% fermented to silage when waiting for 1 month. Speed seems to matter, as it was only around 66% fermented when I accidentally left it on .5 speed. After waiting that 1 month, you can speed the time up to max for about 2 minutes to get to 100% fermentation. Or you can wait another month and have a batch of silage ready to go at the same time you're filling the other silo with grass.
Bales 100% ferment in 1 day game time, so what i do is use 2 days in a month, 1st day mow the grass, then use the john deer round baler that also wraps, when everything is wrapped sleep until next day, using 0.5x speed, if you're done 10:00, sleep until 11:00 (the same day), sleep again to 11:00 now your bales are fermented, just use a trailer to pick em up with a large tractor
Wow, that's dumb. Why would they change it from FS22? It should be obvious that if you let the grass grow longer, that you would get more yield. Why even bother having two different harvest states, then?
It's a bug. But a minor one, and they're much more focused on fixing things that actually cause gameplay issues at the moment....well, once they get back from Christmas/new years holidays.
Might want to actually run the harvesting test. Cut in March, May, July, September. Don’t cut in November as it kicks the next years first harvest to May. So it’s always 4 just so you want to harvest in March or November

There is supposed to be a 50% penalty for cutting grass early, it is in the xml file, but it isn't working.
Because is activated by the mod 😊

If anyone doesn’t know the limit for the train silo at riverbend springs it’s 500,000 litres.
But the train only take 300k

Great video. I wonder if adjusting the header up or down farther out or in makes a difference on yield?

How did you get 200% on your grass? The most I can ever get is 197% because it won’t let you mulch grass like in FS22
I guess he cheatetd it
You should also get it when you mulch the crop before you seed grass
@ sounds about right.. FS25 won’t let you Mulch grass like 22 👎🏻
You can roll the grass to get it to 100%
@ yield bonus will only go to 97 though 👎🏻
He used dev controls to max it out

That is correct, it doesnt grow in the month of March

Yeah you need to re-seed after your last cut in November now 👍🏻
What is that tool you used to make the grass instantly grow ?
Console command "gsFieldSetState" when you have dev tools and cheats enabled.
console commands on PC
it would be nice if they made driving over grass cuttings a little less rough especially when its not swathed
Has anyone seen a grass yield test done with the macdon grass mower vs regular grass mowers. Basically, does Macdonald get typical 25% yield increase vs other mowers?
From what I understand it only gives a 25% bonus to crops.
I've seen a test somewhere and it turns out the bonus doesn't apply to grass.
@@GamingWithGeo perfect. Thank you
From what I've seen, it only gives the bonus for crops and straw, which is done with the reel header. The mower header is just a mower.
yeah... farmer cop did a test and mowing with Macdo doesnt give any extra %.. Just cut with regular mowers... ;)
is that forage wagon modded? haven't seen a trailer that holds more than 59k liters
Yeah it is one of the mods available to all consoles and computers

Grass isn’t reduced if you drive over it. Spent to much time testing this
its a bug. early harvest has penalty defined in xml file but it is not working
I find it odd that it have to replant grass once a year, maybe its a glitch but my grass just doesnt grow again after a couple of harvests

are you sure you're not just in the winter months. it doesn't grow from November to march iirc
@@marcokanthak8801 Then delete it, get your moms money back and go away. Problem solved for everybody
@@marcokanthak8801😂 skill issue 😂
Apparently atm the grass rollers are bugged, if you roll the fields after harvesting they dont regrow
Does anyone know what's up with rice? I started playing on the Japan map and I harvested, mulched and flooded and I still can't plant rice again
Im getting the same number of bales on both stages .
At what point are you supposed to roll the field?
Believe it’s right after harvest, gives you a free 100% fertilized state
If you roll straight after harvest the grass won't regrow. Wait until first growth stage then roll with grass roller.
@@k_cat8932That’s why I’m asking, that happened to me and I didn’t know if it was from rolling too soon…thanks
Omg please tell me Giants is not going to nerf this like they did the wood transport contracts. 🤦
How many months does it take to ferment? And is it the same amount of time wrapped in bales as it is covered in a bunker silo?
same time for both, wrapped and silo

@@ESPirits87 2 days per month is smart! Especially for this.
Same as always as soon as it says ready to harvest. Nothing ever changed
But you are supposed to get a higher yield when the grass is in the third growth stage. When it works you get more with three cuts.
@carlandersson8467 that's never been a thing. As soon as it says ready to harvest it's max
@@toddblankenship7164no it isn't. In 22, you got 50% more in stage 3
