News reports have been saying that recentley New Zealenders are looking twice when crossing the road. Once for cars and a second time for Pieter Steph Du Toit
This is gold right here.
This deserves more likes😂
😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Brilliant!
This is great, World Rugby, but open your footage up to content creators so that they can give us the insight into the game you don't. Channels like Squidge shouldn't be brought to using stills to create free advertising for you. His content is extremely important for the game and yet he's driven to using stills because of your silliness.
You just want to make money on your UA-cam channel at their expense!
@@Soutpiel78UA-cam will get 30% of that anyway. Win win situation.. 🤷🏽♂️
@@Soutpiel78 What a creative little story you've come up with. congrats.
@@Soutpiel78"at their expense"
@@Soutpiel78 would also love to know why "at their expense"?
He totally eliminated the "Barrett" threat. What a legend!
yeah right
Not totally.
Now jordie knows who the real BOGEY-MAN is.
His probably still having NIGHTMARISH NIGHTMARES of this blonde HULK BEARING DOWN UPON HIM.
@@user-kj8lq7mo2s Definitely having nightmares bro. Jordie will survive and come back stronger than ever.
@@JaemanEdwardsactually…..
Wow! The speed to get up and return to the defensive line after every tackle is very impressive. Great technique and no penalties! PSDT was like a magnet when Jordie had the ball!
That's what I noticed as well. Not just the tackles but immediately back in defense after the tackle. He was just in the zone that night.
Jordie suffering from PTSD to this day
@@zetristan4525Do you mean PSdT😉
Jordie will be seeing PSDT coming at him in his nightmares.🤣
@@andreouboetlourens7814 I mean trauma. Missed key kick in a world cup final. But if he'd made it, Pieter-Steph would probably have responded with a try ;)
Notice he’s always bent at the hips, never ever high.. has perfectly adapted to the current climate of the game.. and he’s nearly 6’7. Anyone else can do it.
He's perfect. It still shouldn't have been a red for Cane though.
@@cigh7445 agreed, I really felt for Cane, so unlucky. That being said, Frizell should have been given a red, what a dirty bugger!
maybe Kolisi should take note
Except the All Blacks who feel that instead of bending in the tackle it is easier to blame the match officials.
@@cigh7445 Red card every day of the week. For the past two years that has been a red card every time. The ABs and supporters being shocked by the red is hilarious. Time for them to face reality.
PSDT put on masterclass similar to one Olivier Magne in 1999 when he killed us. You combine the brilliance of PSTD with our 13 handling errors (we had 1 against Ireland!), some unforced but most due to pressure. This is where the game was lost for the ABs. Add to this 7 clean line breaks and SA had 37 missed tackles. We had 60% possession!! 10 penalties against SA, at least 3 were kickable and we chose territory on at least 2 occasion.
We missed a conversion and a penalty.
We may not like it and some of my fellow Kiwis are still burying the head in the sand and crying about officiating, honestly get over it! We had plenty of chances to put the pressure back on SA and we didn't. We played a gallant game but a bridge too far for our lads on the day. Super proud with what they achieved but ultimately SA wanted it more and we were beaten by the better team on the day. And so the rivalry continues.
Well done to our Southern Brothers you have made an art form out of winning rugby with grinding defense. Granted, it wasn't pretty but it sure was intense! That's 4 RWC Finals and 4 wins!
Look forward to seeing you in 2027 with a new coach and team that will blow (hopefully!) you guys off the park. Enjoy the spoils of war while they last. Next season is just around the corner.
Respect ❤
What a man! Thanks
Cheers for that !! Deep respect for the All Blacks- unbelievable performance with 14 men and under so much intense pressure from the Boks- I wonder how the Boks would’ve reacted if that conversion went over- super happy the penalty was missed though! Could have really gone either way , and if the All Blacks had won it with 14 men we would never hear the end of it ….so feeeew
@@rumplestillskin01 I guessed that's the point, had we got our noses in front SA would have been chasing but would you have delivered attacking fire power? Had we got the penalty and the conversion with CK in the bin chasing 16-12....how different could the outcome have been? A pentaly or drop goal option would have been taken out of the equation...
Anyway didn't happen. We missed having a Dan Carter type player on the field and we will need to rectify that before the next RWC.
Fantastic comment! Respect from South Africa.
How Pieter Steph is not in the World Team is a traversty, in a war like this game was there cant be any other choice than him and Eben you want in the trenches with you
Pieter Steph was one of 3 Springboks in my world cup team. 8 All Blacks. 2 French. 1 Irish. 1 Puma.
@@JaemanEdwards 8 All blacks 🤡
The funny thing is that if anyone were to pick a World XI, he would be in it. Him, Marx, Savea and Etzebeth are forwards who'd get into any team. I would even go as far as to say PSDT would get into any forward pack in history
@@morapelimokokomali7907 He played an excellent game but by just taking former Springboks into account, he probably wouldn't get into any pack due to the law changes since the game began. Many more farmboys used to play the game back then. Eitherway.....magnificent athlete and human-being. MOTM.
that whole team is a travesty tbh
A perfect machine. All his tackles are forceful and, most importantly, they are crucial to the game. The speed and stamina he uses to get back in the line after the tackle is outstanding. World class player.
I was waiting for someone to come up with this compialation. Well done world rugby firstly. Secondly, wow...what a player and what a performance, from his younger days playing craven week i never thought this type of performance was in him. He was very athletic and skilled, scored a lot of tries, linked up, yes made big hits but his hunger to get back up and make a big difference in defence is what sets him apart these days. Hardest working forward whenever he is on the field. How anybody would not want this dude in their team is beyond me 😢
What a player for the Spring Boks...Gave his absolute everything...MOTM performance no doubt...
Possibly the greatest defensive flanker game we have ever seen.
Lydiate is up there. As is Dusatoir. He and PSDT have the 2 best ever RWC performances.
What about Josh Kronfeld??? I was afraid of him every time he had the ball.
@vickeybasson6856 exactly he was Abit more of an offensive player, like Magne
Most tackles in any wc game in history
Lets not forget the under appreciated Juan Smith! One of the greats that no one talks about.
PSD hit Barret like a missle numerous times!! 😂
The Malmesbury Missile
at least 4/5 times. he had his number! lol
and area code@@brummerb1
8 times, had his number all night
To be fair for any Bok it was hard not to hit a Barrett, with 3 of them on the pitch!
Unbelievable performance! What a player! Well deserved Man of the match award, he won us the World Cup.
They all did. Everyone. It's a family and everyone understood their role and did it exceptionality well. Kudos to the Springboks
this guy played like crazy, totally amazing how he was tackling till the last minute of the game
I am happy that P S D T gets the credit he ABSOLUTELY deserves! I only wish Franco Mostert could get his due as well!!!
Franco is a work horse as well🔥🔥
Quite! Apparently Franco Mostert made 49 successful tackles in SA's final three matches of the world cup and never missed once!!!
@@mtnstrand2819 and if you consider the amount of 80 min games he has played in the last 5/6 years it is worthy of much more recognition than he gets! Considering the amount of work he does to make others shine have you ever seen him injured? He is the ultimate "yster" and obviously my favourite BOK!
Kwagga.du toit and Mostert are the work horses ...lucky they have another world cup in them ...
SA players don't get the recognition. ABs prance around, lose the final, cry and then get awards.
PSDT tackle at 4:38 is a legendary moment and should not be forgotten. If he did not close that space and go for the hit, Barrett was out and in space. That could've been a NZ try and Peter shut it down with authority.
Agreed! Very well read and delivered with great technique and commitment, a coach's dream to have someone like this in the squad surely
100% try saving tackle.
Easily the greatest defensive read I've ever seen. A world cup winning tackle against a 4:1 overlap of world-class backline threats.
Ya, 28 takes is a lot, but they're were 3/4 that were pivotal, ones that really matter. & you heard that one, when you know its hard
Yeah for sure. That tackle won us the game! He was just brutal. I think the NZ kicks that were missed we’re in large part to how much they were hurting from PSDT’s tackles.
Pieter-Steph played like a man possessed!!! What a stud!!!
look how many times Franco Mostert is right next to him, both amazing players and huge contributions
As I mentioned on another post. Jordie Barrett is going to have terrible nightmares with Pieter-Steph du Toit on the following weeks. Most of the 28 tackles were on him. 😂
Great tactic
Jordie will take it to the line all day and all night
@@JaemanEdwardsnot sure it was a tactic....like Nienaber said...if there is a plastic bag blowing across the field he would chase that down aswell
@@dn822 A definite tactic. It's so obvious. The All Blacks should have adjusted by skipping to Rieko to hit up more.
Yea psdt rattled gim so much he missed that kick
Jordie = Seal
Du Toit= Great White Shark
Respect to Jordie Barrett - he took the brunt of that barrage! Physically - probably got a permanent imprint of PSDT's shoulder in his midriff, as a souvenir to remember the WCF. Mentally - hopefully his PTSD, of fast approaching large objects, in his peripheral vision, clears up soon too?
😂
Nearly took his head off in one of those tackles. TMO on smoko lol
Kiwis: muh South Africans aren’t fit
Steph: Hold my biltong
Shhh! Don't let them catch on to what we've known for years. Springboks are superfit. All of them! In their self-proclaimed greatness, including being the fittest team in the history of rugby, we should encourage them to run our boys off their feet. Play right into our hands everytime. Evident as far back as Wellington 2018 where the Boks made over a cazillion tackles that day. And yet 'we're' unfit. 😂😂😂
They talk it up. It was funny in the newspapers in the week running up the final, here in Auckland, suddenly the AB players were talking about how tough they were being in the practice sessions. Just seemed weird, they don't usually talk about that but all of a sudden it was a big deal about how they were going full tilt and it was like a war in the practice arena. It felt like they were trying to convince themselves that they were tough enough to go toe-to-toe with the Boks.
Typifies SAF's old adage - "Attack wins you games, defence wins you titles!" Well done PSDT 😎
As coach Jacques Nienaber said of Pieter-Steph du Toit: He is the 'Malmesbury Missile' that have so much energy he will chase down a plastic bag blowing over the field.
Awesome quote!
Absolutely nuts how big that effort was! Wow!!! Congratulations🎉
Man was born to tackle!
28 amazing tackles and the commentator said his name all of 4 times... PSDT is an unsung hero
Gave them kiwi's a proper taste of PTSD! 🤣 Seriously, the guy played like a demon and saved at least 1-2 tries. Well done!!
I live in New Zealand. You have no idea how badly some AB supporters have PTSD. Lots of good guys/girls but also plenty that literally cannot face the fact that they lost and will just start arguing about everything when it comes up. 🤦♂
Jordie Barrett foi marcado individualmente por du Toit. Um dos jogadores da África do Sul que mais gosto de ver jogar é Pieter-Steph du Toit.
Thank you! ❤ from South Africa.
@@mtnstrand2819 obrigado. Saudações daqui do Brasil.
Verdade
Title of the video should be "Jordie Barrett gets PTSD from PSDT" 😅😅
Poor guy, I'm sure every time the ball was coming his way he was thinking..."I can't see him, I can't see him! Where is he??" *SMASH*
Yes! Beat me to it
he was absolutely immense in this game.
The guy is very disciplined he doesn't commit fouls
Someone asked and they listened thank you whomever made this!
Brilliant Peter thank you son we love you
Notice how he didn't get a red cars cos he didn't smash his shoulder into an opponents JAW.. he always bent by the knees to show his proper intent and he's taller than the man who did get a red card.
just had to mention that.
Actually a great point. Etzebeth also got low to wipe out Mo'ounga.
Kiwis won't like this but I think the high tackling tendency comes from rugby league where all the tackles are about wrapping up the ball.
If Cane goes low into Kriel's chest, like he can, he possibly knocks him, legally, out of the game by breaking a rib or something. I used to dream of ball carriers stepping back into me like that (at a playing level 100 times lower mind you).
Can hit Henshaw in a similar fashion, though harder years ago. A Kiwi friend of mine said that's how he hits. All Blacks the only team with 2 Reds in the tournament, both for reckless tackles.
Just the most incredible performance!
THE MALMESBURY MISSILE
I'm tired by just watching him make those hits. Massive engine.
Wow what an exceptional and examplary effort by one of the onsong underated players in our Boks Squad. The level of fitness, fatique, clynicality, execution and determination in Pieter is exceptional and often goes unnoticed. He had a tremendous World Cup Final and as an Open Side Flanker his work rate is undeniable. Up You Pieter 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
💪💪 Workhorse is a understatement!!...
PTSD you legend !!!
That's mental.. He is PSDT...
2:50 The hit, and Barret's face is just a work of art
The perfect timing and aiming... got the most 'damage' with the least effort. Brilliant from him.
Quite! 😂😂😂
Roger
This man right here, the defender of South Africa
Inspirational - what he was able to achieve in that game was super human......I was exhausted just watching this
the only forward not subbed and rightly so! absolute beast
PSDT is 1 of my favourite ,2019 best Player of The Tournament, 2023 MOTM on the finals , what a story to share to the next generation ❤️🏈 , PSDT 7 💪
Absolute machine… all heart and commitment… great to see him lift like that in the final…. He made a big impact…. Barret was still seeing stars when he tried for that kick…
Thats like tackling all 14 players, twice!
Jordie was in trouble 😂
Got to be up there for best 6 of all time now
He's a force of nature
PSDT ,handre pollard and steven kitts all came from the under 20 baby boks world cup winning team,he been a thorn in NZ since under 20s😂
Best 7 in the World and proven in final.
7 plays like a 6 in SA
Poor Jordie Barrett 😅 He must still be having nightmares. What a player PSDT!
Unreal performance, almost never is a player so menacing on defense like pieter steph du toit. The game has a defensive threat aspect to it. Strong defense is attack. Particularly rush defense and high kicks. Strong deliberate defensive "set-ups" cause turnovers and penalties which cost possesion and or territory and eventually points. It also allows you to physically hit your opposition when they are in the most vulnerable moments. Unbelievable read from the boks, they have redefined the way the game is played and few understand it.
Jordie's going to have nightmares of the blonde terminator coming out of nowhere to sack him onto the ground.
That man won the world cup.
G.O.A.T!! I'm proud of you guys!!
Best player in the world..an all rounder and hard as nails
Nice to see World Rugby coming out with these highlights so quick so we can see other UA-camrs use it for their edits which I will also watch XD
PSDT giving Jordie PTSD!
One of the best. Peaked in the best game. He hurt himself there with that last one on Jordie.
His work rate is something on another level! Simply insane
Absolute machine👍💪🤯👌
Gotta give it to Kolisi as well. They executed every tackle as a duo
Kolisi looked knocked out at one point
This is why we won! PSDT!!
yeah as a Kiwi it was hard to watch how many times he smashed people. Playing absolutely out of his skin, gotta recognise game!
What a game and what a performance!
even colby picked up jordan PTSD job well done
This is one for the coaches to show to professionals and youngsters alike - how it should be done and that it can be done for a full match. This time it won SA the world cup.
All you can is jus t stand in awe of this Colossus.
Awesome man, wouldn't want to get his name wrong . .
Fella was a MONSTER!
Was waiting for this vid all week!
this guy was a beast 🔥
Pieter-Steph du Toit will haunt Jordie Barrett's dreams for years to come. He may even be diagnosed with PSDT.
4 years ago he was just as immense on defense in the final vs England. He is a machine!! I'm glad he got the man of the match award he did the dirty work that most fans don't appreciate enough. Our defense won us this world cup and we thank you Pieter Steph!
He didn't give away a penalty amazing performance congrats South Africa won by the hardest road.
His work rate is out if this world. Has an engine on him that never quits
Of all the things the boks do differently i like the lock at 7 the most.
Pieter Steph Du-Toit has been amazing and consistent throughout the Rugby world cup.
" who just been taking names all half" a masterpiece commentary
Jordie will be having nightmares about PSDT for a while...
Jordie cryed like a baby at the end.
PTSD after missing the last kick too
@@zetristan4525 Those hits quite likely put him off his kicking game.
@@JaemanEdwards I think he was distracted by feeling sorry for Cheslin crying and praying under his shirt...
Best of Recent Years. ლეგენდა.
Superhuman, and inspiring a new generation to be better!
PSDT's fitness is insane. To tackle like that continuously and still get up to tackle again is beyond me....
PTSD from PSDT, absolute pillar to the team
du toit is a player that all young players (including myself) should be looking up to as both a forward and back. the hard crunching tackles that make rugby such a spectacle to watch makes the game so, so exciting.
South Africa redefined the term "defending your title!" Legendary one man bulletproof wrecking ball, creating a painful wall that Jordie Barrett is still having night sweats about. Go Bokke!!!
What a machine!
An Incredible player.
As we say in football...he had jordie barrett in his pocket 😂
What a star.
Brilliant player. Hardest worker on the field in the world. Play the game clean, hard and clever. What a great asset to the game and the Springboks.
You are the best Pieter-Steph du Toit!!! The best!!!
He's a Hero
What a player!
This is a pretty great performance, and thats speaking as an ABs fan
Dankie Pieta jou Yster.
Maybe if the Boks got knocked out in the QF then PSDT would be in the 'dream team'.
