That's such a brilliant idea, making the front with more of the total than the back! Cause you're right, the lumps and bumps ARE there and DO require more space. It just makes sense. Don't know why I haven't thought of making the sleeve adjustment like that before and there you go being all innovative and intelligent like that! Thanks girl!🫶
Ha ha yes well other ones that I've freestyled in the past have always felt too baggy at the back and this helps to bring it in a bit more and giving more room at the front too!
That would look fantastic as a longer version. I'm currently making a solid hexi cardi but I know what my next project is going to be. I love your videos
Thanks so much! I’ve been doing sleeves for my daughter, but have found it difficult adapting sizing - you’ve explained how to do it brilliantly!! I can’t wait to start this tutorial 👍❤️💗
YAY!!! Another tutorial!!! Thank you so much for this video Kelly!!! As of today, the weather in Vienna is officially very "English" again and i´m so delighted to be able to pick up my needles again!!! ❤❤❤🫖🌧☔🌬😊🥰
Ive seen some patterns where they make a v stitch where the increases are supposed to be and i like that because its easier to see where im supposed to be doing those & it looks cool. Hope i remembered the right term but its the one that you( stitch ch1 stitch,)
I'm actually in the middle of recording one like that. It gives more of a square/rectangle neckline. I've not long posted about it in my shorts. I make a top down sweater out of leftover yarn cakes. That's the tutorial which I am now recording ❤️🙂
@@CraftandaCuppa ooh I will watch for that one thank you! I love top down options I made a ton of baby cardigans in a similar style and once I got comfortable with the pattern I started changing things up to make different variations but now I want to make more top down items for bigger sizes
You can do a regular chain, I would suggest to ch loosely or go up 1 hook size for the chain and then go back to your original hook size for round 1 ❤️
Thank you for this tutorial ! It’s wonderful. Could you suggest a starting number of chain for a young child please (say approx 5 yrs old) ? Perhaps 36 or 42 or 48 … ?
@@jennyfarmer9983 hi that's a tricky one to answer as it all depends on the yarn you are using, hook size and your own personal tension. When I made my 6 year old one I used Aran weight and an 8mm hook and I did 54 chs but I also checked it against her to make sure it fits ok 👍🏼
The math is not mathing for me. 36 stitches in front and 32 stitches in back, only leaves 34/2=17 stitches per armhole. Not sure how I’ll get to 20 on each armhole but I’ll try making the connection change 7 instead of 4 and hopefully that’ll account for the 3 missing stitches 🤔 As soon as I figure it out, I’ll be sailing through this one and on to the second one!
Do you need 20 on each arm hole? I would suggest to carry on, do the connection round which forms the armholes and try it on! If it's not right you only have to undo 1 round and just adjust your stitch markers to make the armholes slightly bigger 👍🏼❤️ Good luck, maths fries my brains too 🤣
@@CraftandaCuppa I ended with 19 on each arm and shifted to 32 in the front and back. I also did 7 chains under the arm. That may be too many but I refused to undo that row again ha! I just want to see the final product and will adjust the numbers for the next one if the arms stretch and become too big. I think this’ll work for my frame and I can’t wait to wear it!
What is wrong with your stitch count? (Asking 22:10 into the video) - where you finding a center stitch you place it on stitch 51, but with your 102 stitch count there isn’t a center stitch as you have an even number… so you have 2 stitches that😊 are centred…
