After George tells Lionel it was about the guy in the other room, you see Lionel’s posture straighten up and his face go serious(great acting moment). He knew someone was messing with his dad. That’s why he offered to take care of it.

@@marionv.brittainiii7188 It was the episode when Moses Gunn came by, because he was supposedly dying, and was gonna leave Sherman a large sum of money. They ended up getting into a big argument, and Moses told Sherman that he wished that his daughter had never married him, and he wasn't leaving him anything. Thelma got them to reconcile by the end of the episode tho.
