Looks and sound fab can’t wait for the noise video 👍
Nice video as always.
Thanks James!
Now that's an exhaust looks the real deal!
Video is great btw, and the car even more. Good job done ✅👍
Quality as always! Love these sort of videos 🙏🏽
Thanks Tim 😎
Great video, thanks!
It would be interesting to see how the resonated version sounds too
Great video as always, seems to be a massive improvement over stock!
Cheers Bran
Nice vid, love that exhaust sound!! Catch you on the forum 😉👍
Sounds way better than factory. Nice 👍🏻
sounds spot on
Excellent video as always! 👍🏻
Thanks James!
Thanks James!
So many Yaris videos on youtube, but yours are the most entertaining!
Kinda weird how the stock exhaust looks like tbh haha
Thanks mate - high praise 😄
Great improvement of the sound i believe. It was something that Yaris need.
PS you found the time to upload it today then...yeaahhh 😉😉
It was a bloody early morning lol
Nice to see you're not hanging around with the modifying 👍🏼 ... Good to see Rob getting in front of the camera too! 😂
Congrats on the purchase once again mate!
Thanks mate! This needed sorting pronto...
Nice video as usual, one more week and I get my system installed. Same version, but went with the burnt titanium. ;)
Toyota definitely thought about people changing the exhaust, that was way to easy to get off haha.
It sounds amazing mate, love the tips as well👍😁
Cheers mate. Thanking Toyota for this one 🤣
It’s loud! fitted one to mine on Wednesday, hopefully will get a little better with time!
How are you finding it? Is it a bit obnoxious or just the right level of loud?
@@Agent.Michael_Scarn think because the floor is so thin it makes it worse, have order some sound proofing to put on boot floor, as get a little bit of tyre noise before!
Or even heat wrap the centre exhaust ?
@@michaelanderson2689 ah, guessing the exhaust doesn’t come with a db killer/ muffler silencer then? Might be worth looking at one, probably the cheapest and most straight forward solution.
Reading that heat wrap can help deaden higher frequencies but not lower. I had heat wrap on my motorbike exhaust and noticed no difference but guess you can’t really compare that - never experienced one on a car before.
Keep me updated though if you find a solution. Can’t make up my mind on the exhaust. On the one hand, I like that the GRY is a bit of a street sleeper so a quiet exhaust helps with that.
On the other hand, it would be nice if it was louder and sounded better than my Dyson. I’ll have to wait to see what the exhaust sound in the cabin is like. Hopefully get a test drive in the next couple of weeks - due to get mine May 2022.
@@Agent.Michael_Scarn can purchase the resonator pipe separately at £300 +vat, which will make things quieter!
Could always put original back on! 😱
Best sounding aftermarket exhaust for the GRY I've heard so far.
Not sure if you guys gives a damn but if you are bored like me atm you can watch pretty much all of the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. Have been watching with my gf for the last couple of days :)
@Grady Timothy yup, I've been using instaflixxer for since november myself :D
@Grady Timothy definitely, I've been watching on instaflixxer for since november myself =)
Standard exhaust weights 11.6kgs for anyone info and it does fit inside the car once removed, although sticks thru to above the handbrake.
wow at first no sound and after that real nice exhaust sound. very nice :O)
Sweet Machine looking in from Ireland 🇮🇪
Cheers Sean 😎
Dressed like woody from toy story! All banter mate, love the content!
If it’s not the jumpers... 🤣
Nicely done mate! You happy with the results? Find mic’s never quite get exhausts right - definitely a lot louder though. How does it sound in person compared to the vid?
It’s loud but not obnoxious. I’ll do another video with some exhaust sounds in it :)
@@JBCTR cheers mate! Really enjoying your vids, looking forward to the next one
Sounds a lot better.
Hi! Great content on your channel, thank you for the videos. Since you seem to know what you're doing, I have a question: shouldn't changing the exhaust and / or the air intake require remapping of the ECU since the airflow (incoming or outgoing) is changing? Thinking to upgrade both on my car thought i'd check with someone that knows about it and that's not trying to sell me either first 😄Thanks!
Not necessarily... You can change them and the OEM ECU software will likely tailor itself to suit the modifications. This will mean you are unlikely to see any real power benefit, but you get the cool noises.
You'll need the software to make the most of the changes from a power perspective, however. Gone are the days of bolting on bits and going faster as a result!
lovely.
That plate is my intials aswell 🙌 #JJB
sound good man not stupid loud verry cool
The best kind!
Sounds 100 times better, great choice💨💨💨👍 quick question though will fitting an upgraded exhaust void the 5 year Toyota warranty?
Yes and no. You’ll only void the warranty of the part(s) impacted by the modification. Given this is a GPF-back exhaust with both GPF and Cat in place, I can’t see there being an impact on warranty (other than the exhaust you have removed, obviously!)
Best to check with your dealer to be safe!
@@JBCTR cheers for getting back to me buddy,I will check with the dealer, keep them vids coming on the GRRR👊
It sounds a lot like the 1.4 t-jet, very purry/growly
(500 abarth and grande punto abarth)
Just an FYI. The centre clutch pack mechanism is housed in the rear diff. Good videos too man, looking forward to more GR content. What are your plans now?
Thanks mate! I can’t believe how small the clutch pack is! No plans as such. I’ll live with it and see what I fancy changing 😄
Sounds epic! I hate to ask a boring question, but: do you know whether this effects the Toyota Warranty on the rest of the car?
Toyota have been quite clear on their warranty stance. You invalidate the warranty on the parts your are changing. For example, if my electric windows were to fail, id still have warranty as it’s unrelated to the exhaust.
This is what Toyota stated on their website:
‘if you fit aftermarket parts, and they are responsible for an issue with your vehicle, it won’t be covered by the Toyota warranty.’
@@JBCTR That's great info - thank you! Did the installation require any drilling of holes or other modifications to the car? Its just a little unclear how they installed those brackets for the hangers - do they utilise holes that already exist?
@@engineer1012 nope, there are threaded bolts there already (holding the bumper I think - but don’t quote me on that). Place the bracket over the existing bolts and do up the supplied nuts
@@JBCTR I wonder how pedantic they'd be about an issue affected with an aftermarket part, hopefully they'd be pretty reasonable.
@@grid212 Realistically, it’s unlikely a GPF-back exhaust is going to cause issues. It’s downstream of everything and there are no valves or sensors in this area of the exhaust
Sounds great, what about the 5yr warranty is that affected?
Warranty is only voided of parts impacted by the modified area of the car if the modifications have caused the failure. I posted a quote from Toyota on another comment about this 👍🏼
Thanks for watching all! A video of the Milltek exhaust sound is now live. Head over to ua-cam.com/video/Vw_HJoc9NBE/v-deo.html
Cheers!
I was just about to ask, where is the sound check? ;) The car looks much better with these pipes, so I hope it will sound great as well.
How much?
@@michaelgraham-reid4764 Link in bio 😎 (prices subject to change, so I don’t mention them)
Did you get 25k and a cut of further sales!!? Jokes....
@@elliotthale1835 I don’t work for anything less than 30k 😉
Do you feel any difference in power or just sound.
It does sound good and looks better and fixes the GR weakest part.
Not driven a huge amount of milage, but can’t say I’ve noticed any change in power. Just the noise. That said, I wouldn’t expect any change in power from a GPF-back exhaust
I have not opf, and i buy milltek not resonated but i feel lost of torque, if i buy a central resonated can i recover this torque? Tnks
Apologies, not sure I can help as I didn't experience the same loss of torque!
The car has brown rear springs? Wasn't expecting that colour.
Bit of an odd choice, but hey!
You’re not waisting anytime lol!
Always excellent vids. Shame such a stupidly expensive car immediately needs the pipes replacing to make it sound decent though!
I imagine that’s a regulation thing. Thankfully they made it super easy!
Thats modern cars for you - you can spend 100k on a car and still need to change the exhaust
@@JBCTR good point!
🙏 More updates once the exhaust is bedded in
On the way!
I have a GR Yaris, and have been considering changing the exhaust. Quick question though. Does the sound of the exhaust now fight with the fake engine noise pumped in by the speakers? So are you hearing 2 different noises? And how does that sound?
It doesn’t sound like you are hearing two different noises to be honest. I am considering turning the internal noise off, mainly to see how it sounds. I did this on my Fiesta, but ended up turning it back on again! It’s no offensive though.
@@JBCTR Thanks for the response. The fake noise isn't too bad TBH. Far better than VW's noise pumped through the speakers. That's awful !. Will look forward to seeing a video if you do decide to delete the fake noise. Wonder how that would effect the warranty. Have you had any look finding a company that can lower the seat base?
@@waynebelton5445 yup. Both videos that are on my to do list haha
Are the stock tips removable?
Unfortunately not!
Uhm...is this additional Mount @ 4:28 necessary? I have forgot to install it. 🙄
Stops it from wobbling around. I would assume it’s necessary for them to add it 😁
@@JBCTR Thanks, i have installed the additional Mount and the Exhaust looks more stable.
Omg . So many to choose from 🤷🏽♂️😨😂
Nice to have choice, eh? 😬
ALREADY?! 🤣🤣 I mean it's absolutely necessary the car sounds like a hoover stock.
Yeah that was kinda weird, especially since the fiesta st showed how great a 3 cylinder can sound.
No 3 cylinder engine can sounds well, they all sound same like hairdryers.
@@toninocars my man you clearly never heard one. They sound low and grumbly, much rougher then a 4 cylinder.
Any drone from the non res?
Nope, very little.
@@JBCTR have you had a Civic type r previously? Reason I ask is (CTR in your name) I'm interested in how the Yaris is compared to the civic, I've had an fk2 CTR before.
@@xu10j4rs1 I’ve not. CTR - Car and Technology Reviews. I test drove one and it was pretty good, but it didn’t set my pants on fire like the GR did. However, I didn’t have it for very long. They are incredibly fast on a track and super spacious if you need a daily. Had I needed more practical space, the Civic would have been my go to without question.
That’s better
Wouldn’t the exhaust entering straight in then 90 out cause flow issues? Most things ie fluids and air flow better with minimal bends. Also the faster you move the exhaust out helps pull in a new charge into the combustion chamber. Makes very little sense to do a mod like this with no improvement except for noise
The bolts are 14mm and not 13mm.
These cars soon will become a target for catalytic converters thefts as the cat is exposed, ultra easy job to cut and take it away. , same as on Toyota hybrids drive trains. , although the main catalytic converter is built into the exhaust manifold they still cut the second one. You just showed to all thieves what is theirs next mission. 👍
Reminds me of the BRZ. Looks almost identical....
Ive no doubts these cars are a blast to drive! But damnnn they ugly as hell 🤢
Seen one in the flesh, they look pretty amazing. Those flared rear arches are something else, looks totally like a wee rally car.
I bet you think a Civic type R is better looking...
I bet he has a Golf R.😋 I think it's a good looking car. The best ever no but still good but not for everyone. I find the Fiesta st to be plain. It's not ugly but not good and before people call me a GR or Toyota fan boy I love the look of some hatches but Sedans my Favorite.
Ford Focus RS great
I30N good and i20N look solid. I was close to buying each one then GR showed up.
Now for excellent looks.
R34 Skyline.
Evo X
Dodge Viper old model 2000 around there and BMW M2 cars.
Plus many more so just find something that you love. For me my Red GR and my Evo X( VRX Lancer lol)😂😂
Honda type R looks like a huge toy car from my childhood but I must say I like them.
You sir have absolutely NO taste in car exteriors.
