I love how chill that lizard is, you're tugging and pulling on its cheeks and chin like an aunty at a family reunion!
I love your setups for this species! I'm actually in the process of building a custom cage on wheels for my own little group. It'll take some time, but in the end I will be friggin glad with the results.
I keep false chameleons for just over a year and have bred them succesfully and i would recomend that you should start with an adult or sub adult young baby's can be very finicky with both food and hydration unlike the adult wich are absolute tanks and the personallity stays mostly the same from birth but most do calm down a lot as they get older and more confident
Do you have any recommendations for misters? I live in Georgia and we are having a hard time maintaining humidity in Smaug’s cage. It is glass.
@@LianneHutcheson i use a automatic misting system from aqua nature tech wich is a dutch brand but i have it going off for about 50 seconds twice a day
dou use glass or screen enclosure? would something like a big chameleon cage be good for them?
@@nil22433 i use a wooden terarium with a glass front with large ventilation holes covers by aluminion with holes in it
I agree. They are an awesome and easier alternative to a true chameleon, much as I still want one. I've had mine for close to a year myself and have had many babies successfully. If one does their homework properly and not hastefully, they are truly great pets!
You make some really good care videos. Funny too
We have a bearded dragon in a bioactive 800+ gallon tank i dont know its bigger than a couch got it with him when i got him, and fish tanks with snails lol, along with farm animals, my son loves farcry 6 and wants one to name Guapo lol and have plent of snails and crickets lol vounldnt find a video on how often they eat till i watched this and ready an anwer in the comments, thank u for answering their question lol
Very interesting video BIG DOGGIE 💯👣 But I just love crested geckos too much BIG DOGGIE 💯👣
can you feed them with aquatic snails?
Super cool animals!!
they are so cute
I have a question about hydration; I am finding little info on these guys, but I came across one article saying they can't see "still" water? I do not currently have a mister, I spray the habitat down a few times a day, have a water dish, but also try to saturate the plants enough so my cuban "could" get drops off the leaves.. is what I'm doing enough? Or is there a better/different way?
You can get a drip system. Zoo Med make one called "The Little Dripper"
Random question. Just wondering if they can grow their Claws back??
I got Cuban false chameleon but I can't find snails alive to feed him
I’ve only ever read that they have a snout to vent length of 7inches, so I would assume that their full length would be closer to 12inches
04:57 hahaha
Temperatura hot?
Didn't speak on the fact that they need dripping water, their exact temperature, how often you should feed them, etc. i love you guys but cmon :(
Dripper system could be very useful for this species. Otherwise direct misting so the animal drinks plenty of water is required. I would keep ambient temperatures between 75-78F with a small hot spot of 85-90F (For adults only, not babies). Feed every other day as babies and 3 times a week as adults.... Happy now? :)
@@TikisGeckos thank you! :D getting mine tomorrow
