Good morning Chuck Paige & Family! I can't sleep either when there are unresolved issues "floating" around in my mind. A suggestion that they should cover the openings with plastic and floor fans used before you commented, Understand the logic when you mentioned it. Can't believe the delivery guy complaining; load didn't look that bad to be offloaded by hand. Love Paige's laugh! Best to let them do it their way since it is their business and have been doing it for a while successfully. People always want to put their "two cents" in as I have too. Nice improvement, love the lights! Good fortune, health, fun and happiness to everyone. Stay safe

Always concerns me when these workers use the hand grinding wheels and fail to use goggles.
One of our relatives offered to use our strimmer machine to cut back our overgrown plot of land next to our house. Turns upon flip flops. I fitted him out with Some protective gear plus helmet with visor and a set of rubber boots. They see no danger !!!

Those contractors are very skilled and they know what they are doing. They work like an old civilization and there's nothing wrong. The end results is what counts. Soaking the tiles in water is a very very old technique used by the Egyptians for thousands of years.

Soaking the tiles in water bring up the moisture in the tile this moisture helps with the bonding to the mastic and to the wall. Its the extra oxygen that makes the bonding process work and bond good or well to objects and the wall.

Chuck..tiles in tropical countries after manufactured and stored..becomes dry..and upon being fixed to walls or floors..this tiles tend to absorb the liquids ..and so if not soaked in water..after sometime..it will break loose..at times depending on some surface..where its just dry..cement gum is used also..that's why as you observed the old tiles were so fixed that was hard to remove..

I always worry when I see folks breathing the dust while cutting into concrete. Silica is nasty stuff. I know it’s a different work culture with different norms, but man a couple N95 masks would really help their lungs over the long haul. I was glad when I saw Chuck hand them those masks at the beginning. It’s nice to see a family all work together like that. What a great crew.

Close..... You soak the tile so when you put it on the wall it does not soak the water out of the mortar....... So it make the tile and wall as 1 when it drys..... If you don't do it the tile will suck the water out of the mortar and makes the mortar brittle and tile will fall off in time..... If done right you will not just hit the tile and it falls or brakes
