Tutorial on how to turn a band tee into a top you can dress up. 'Vampira's Ghoul Gang' Top from: HTTP://www.kreepsville666.com Song: Mors Syphilitica - The Lying
I paused for the song as well then fast forwarded for the end result T-shirt with the chain and it looks so raggedy tossed up, I'm not even trying to talk trash but it is what it is ,it looks so jacked up I'm sorry.
Honestly, the video and audio qualities are perfect! They match perfectly with this 80's / 90's aspect you discuss and it gives this particular vintage feeling to the videos since the quality was the same back then. In fact, every time I watch you I feel like I'm 25 years in the past as my awkward babybat-self when I was spending my days at the cybercafé to seek the web for goth stuff...
Thank you! I really do try to stick with continuity. Use the older terminology (I feel like I'm in Mordor using the term 'Elder') but sometimes you have to pick your battles with these things lol. I'm so happy you like the style. Do you like to DIY shirts?
I admit that I kinda wish you didn't speed through the sleeve part, since I couldn't really pick up at all on what you were doing .> Great video either way
Me too !! I even slowed it as slow as I could and couldn't figure out wth was happening. It was sped up at the exact time it needed to be described - at the hardest part! OMG...maybe there is an actual revamped vid like she said, this is 4yrs old! 🖤🖤🖤I'm loving her videos
That was a very original DIY in the respect that really your imagination is your only limitation. Cutting up old clothes and re-sewing is always a good idea. Streamers, chains and all sorts of do-dads are cheap and with trial and error can create an attractive look, and conversation starter at the same time. (and I loved that song in the background too!). Love your DIY's!
Ooo, so cute! I'm about to go rooting through my old concert T stash to see if I can find some I want to go Edward Scissorhands on lol Your explanation made sense to me! Great tutorial.
Thank you! I'm sorry for the late reply. I would really like to do more DIY videos to help breathe some life back into old gear. I have some ideas :) I'm so happy you liked this! Did you get a chance to use it in the end?
Love it! I did some modifications to Halloween shirts I've found at Walmart and various black blouses from thrift shops and made them high neck Victorian. Loved this tutorial with the epaulettes 💀
I bought the same t-shirt like a year ago with the same intention but I'm too lazy and it ended up as sleeping clothing. Nice video! You gave me ideas about how to get a tighter t-shirt and I'm going to try for sure! Thank you.
Sorry for the late reply! You can really get creative with it and double or even triple the fabric on the sleeves by adding different textures like fishnet, ripped tulle, different colors of fabric to come up with a really interesting layered effect.
As a professional seamstress I crinched a bit at the needle placement prior to sewing, but hey the techniqe that works for you will probably work for you... Nice and simple work....love it.
I'm definitely not a pro. I took sewing courses briefly but my methods are definitely not by the book or conventional and I definitely wasn't there long enough to learn a solid technique. I guess not everything is like riding a bike lol and repetition would have definitely helped. I can imagine you were watching like 'What is she doing?!' during many parts lol. Luckily with most of my experiments they tend to come together in the end. I plan to do more with less cringey placement and easier to follow techniques.
You did a great job on that Sisters shirt! I admit, I always kind of blank when I get to the shoulders of any t-shirt so this was super helpful! Also, I'm so living vicariously right now when it comes to sewing. My machine was one of the many things that did not make the big move with me so I'm missing it a lot right now!
I'm glad you liked it. I'm a stickler for symmetry and when I know there's a possibility where that's not going to be the end result, I purposefully make the sleeves different. This can easily be done by hand if need be because it's a quick job and may even give you more control with the sleeves. Sorry for the late reply!
omg that looks incredible! I must try this out once I get my sewing machine back. I've been doing that thing where you use the remaining fabric from the sides of the shirt and lace the sides up like a shoe lace but I think it's good to sew them once in a while.
I watched it to completion, and I can barely sew on a button. Honestly, nor do I care too. I can't take my eyes of you, you are so bloody gorgeous. I can't think of anything I would tire watching you do. Please keep the vid's coming .
i have to admit i love getting mens tees and turning it into a cute outfit like a black mens tee (graphic) and ripped sequins black denim jeans & nikes cause nikes never go wrong lol
This actually inspired me to do some t-shirt deconstruction. I want to make a loose tank and instead of sewing up the sides I want to make some holes to use all this ribbon I got on sale to tie the sides together. Hopefully this won't be a complete disaster, wish me luck. =)
Neat tutorial. I'll have to try this on my "quit your witchin'" T-shirt because I couldn't find a tutorial that I liked enough to get the guts to cut up my favorite Halloween shirt. But I am tired of how it fits on me since it's a men's shirt so this is perfect. May do a corset deal along the sides instead of sewing I think.
Really cute idea :) I'm going to have to try this and may get back with you later on those faux epaulettes. Looking forward to your next video and I hope you are feeling fine honey :)
My son led me here he watches you alot(he is a gothy type of person as well)So I had to check you out, his name on here is "outsider x" I can see why he watches you. You are really great. Love your videos. 😊
Aargh! Yep---that was complicated to watch---and get. LOL!!! Fun to watch, though. If I owned a sewing machine (or knew someone that had one), I would actually try it. Your shirt turned out really awesome. Right now, I just take a pair of scissors and cut up my shirts. The first time I did that, it was the day my grandmother passed away----that night actually----odd. Anyhow, that night I cut up two of my t-shirts and they turned out really well. Funny thing is, I have not been able to duplicate how well I did with any other t-shirt I've cut up since. Well, I just have to keep trying. Great video! 🎃🕸🔥💀👻
Sorry for the late reply. Thank you for the kind words! I'm hoping my future DIYS have a bit more clarity and are easier to follow. This is one of my firsts.
i might be late to the comment party on this...but please please please do a closet or makeup tour!!! or let us know where that lipstick is from. you're awesome!!! keep up the radness :)
I probs need to do this woth old shirts that are too big for me now (since I lost alot of weight since school) so the old shirts I have left I can use this video as a guide :)
Fuck, I love customizing t-shirts. I buy a lot of band tees from local bands in my town and custom cut them to fit me better. Keep buggin my mum for a sewing machine so I can actually completely deconstruct and re-construct some shirts. I hate sewing by hand, it takes forever.
Hi Angela, I'm not sure if I missed it in the comments, but what sewing machine do you use? I've been looking for one, but there's so many choices and I feel overwhelmed at times, lol. Btw, I really loved this tutorial -- your explanation was clear! I hope to see more in the future! :)
the music sounds sort of like nightwish, which recently I got into. I see thaat it actually is Mors Syphilitica, but this made me wonder, do you listen to some symphonic metal such as nightwish?
Um, I don't hate it but it's not something I actively seek out. I tend to listen to more Goth Rock, older Industrial/EBM, New Wave-- That kinda thing :)
When I know that I can't get things symmetrical I deliberately make them asymmetrical. Like one obviously different and more embellished sleeve so it looks like it was part of the design plan all along. Sorry for the late reply!
I’m new to your channel and I’m a baby bat ig you could say so I don’t know where to really buy gothic clothes, I tried Hot Topic but they aren’t always the greatest, do you think you could help me out?
This is one of the best deconstructed t-shirts I've seen. I understand the concept of building the sleeves. However, I got lost when you began to sew them on. It was difficult to see what you were doing with the machine especially working with black material. Is there an easy way to explain? I would hate to have it bunch up in an unflattering manner. Thanks for sharing this idea, it really looks lovely.
Thanks! I'm sorry XD Generally, I would double the sleeve. I have black jersey fabric and use the cut off sleeves as stencils and kind of origami them on. Get some more bulk. There really is no rhyme or reason on how to shape it, it's at your discretion. You just pin it into the shape that you want and follow the lines you've created.
Angela Benedict I got the origami part of it. It's the sewing part I was unsure of. It will be a trial and error ( isn't that how we all learn anyway?) and perhaps hand sewing them on. Thanks again.
I actually had to pause this video and go look up the song playing in the background and listen to it, because it was just too awesome.
Yes! They're amazing.
I paused for the song as well then fast forwarded for the end result T-shirt with the chain and it looks so raggedy tossed up, I'm not even trying to talk trash but it is what it is ,it looks so jacked up I'm sorry.
@@gbobbyjoe3985 I gotta disagree mate. I find the abstract pattern of the chains to be really cool, especially when it moves.
@@angelabenedict I was trying to catch the song but alas, I have failed.. help! Please and thank you😊🙏

I'm going to do a revamp of this style and definitely go much slower with the sleeves and explain better.

I am 13 and I am goth too DEAR GOD THANK YOU THAT SHE CREATE HER CHANNEL 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤❤️
I thought you did a very good job explaining your method! Love the chain on the shoulder- it's simple but unique.
That was a very original DIY in the respect that really your imagination is your only limitation. Cutting up old clothes and re-sewing is always a good idea. You did a great job clearly showing the process! My whole wardrobe is DIY band tees (I even make myself skirts and leggings out of them)
Ooo, so cute! I'm about to go rooting through my old concert T stash to see if I can find some I want to go Edward Scissorhands on lol

THANK YOU! So many old t-shirts, so little to wear! Lifesaver :)
Love your tutorial. I totally get the "epaulettes" (loved learning that!) are a creative challenge here! Thanks for the inspiration ideas.
Love it! I did some modifications to Halloween shirts I've found at Walmart and various black blouses from thrift shops and made them high neck Victorian. Loved this tutorial with the epaulettes 💀
Would love to see those!
I bought the same t-shirt like a year ago with the same intention but I'm too lazy and it ended up as sleeping clothing. Nice video! You gave me ideas about how to get a tighter t-shirt and I'm going to try for sure! Thank you.

I love the sleeves thing, I've never seen that done before! Gotta give that a try

Thanks for making such an awesome vid - t-shirt surgeries are always interesting to me
perfectly perfect perfection af as usual

Ok I seriously need to hangout with you because I would love to learn how to do that first hand!
Amazing!! I hope you still have the shirt intact 😊
I do!
I have so many tshirts but I only wear them as pajamas BUT NO LONGER, this looks really pretty I cant wait to chop the crap out of my tops 😁
How did it come out? Did you DIY the old t-shirts?
DIY is so fun!
Thanks for the vid! Very easy to follow the instructions
Great tutorial will definitely try this.
The best music possible. Nice top!
Thank you!
I love it. I need to get back on my sewing machine anyways. Might hit up my local thrift store to see what I can find.
Yes! Let me know how it comes out!
omg those epaulets are so cute!
Thank you

I love your makeup. You are so pretty. I love your design for the t shirt
Thank you! I hope you get to try the DIY too!
Never thought to use men's shirts to alter them. Thanks for this tutorial :D
The bigger the shirt the better the possibilities.
Love it! Thank you xx

I love the Sisters but never owned a shirt of theirs.I think I need to change this situation. lol!!!
Great Video BTW. It is easy to follow. =)
I did a few more DIYS since and I plan to do more. They're fun but can be messy once you bring out that sewing machine.
That looks amazing!! Im gonna have to try this out. I love your diy videos! they don't disappoint ❤️ love that music, too. What was it?
Thank you
Okay, thanks! ❤️
If Goth can be cute, that is cute!
I have an oversized Cure t shirt from when I saw them live and I need to do something with it like thid
How did it come out?
Why would you do that, that shirt is probably worth money. And you got it from the concert!
Great Tutorial ... You're very creative!! I'm going to try this soon. Do you have a tutorial for the bow-like sleeves you showed in that photo?
More emphasis on the sleeves? I'll do another like this. Thanks so much!
i might be late to the comment party on this...but please please please do a closet or makeup tour!!! or let us know where that lipstick is from. you're awesome!!! keep up the radness :)
I found this very usefull, thanks!
my friend met Vampira twice she was a very nice lady
That's epic!
ms. angela i hope u can answer this what does the different decorations on goth and cyber goth shirts mean such as the safety pinns .....
I probs need to do this woth old shirts that are too big for me now (since I lost alot of weight since school) so the old shirts I have left I can use this video as a guide :)
I've done a few DIY's since so you can vary it up. The others don't require a sewing machine.
Fuck, I love customizing t-shirts. I buy a lot of band tees from local bands in my town and custom cut them to fit me better. Keep buggin my mum for a sewing machine so I can actually completely deconstruct and re-construct some shirts. I hate sewing by hand, it takes forever.
Love the video. Idk if you like postpunk but look up "Burning skies of elysium " they're my favorite.
That looks very cool. What suggestions, though, for someone who cannot sew?
I'm so sorry for the late reply! For the no-sew? Safety pins :)
Hi Angela, I'm not sure if I missed it in the comments, but what sewing machine do you use? I've been looking for one, but there's so many choices and I feel overwhelmed at times, lol. Btw, I really loved this tutorial -- your explanation was clear! I hope to see more in the future! :)
It's a standard 'singer'. Does the job :)
I'd love if you could explain the sleeves a little bit more. I'm confused (although it might be me being a bit dippy 😅😅)
the music sounds sort of like nightwish, which recently I got into. I see thaat it actually is Mors Syphilitica, but this made me wonder, do you listen to some symphonic metal such as nightwish?

oh, ok, well, it's always awesome to see what others in the subculture are into. Thanks for answering :D
Jonathan Robbins No worries
ok I'll check that out.
OH, that's fucking great! XD I'll totally just play that for my sister, and she'll be so confused!!
you have such beautiful eyes UGH
I know I could never sew the sleeves on right. Sob. ☹️
When I know that I can't get things symmetrical I deliberately make them asymmetrical. Like one obviously different and more embellished sleeve so it looks like it was part of the design plan all along. Sorry for the late reply!
THANK YOU. I can never get modding shirts down....
Sorry for the late reply! DIY'ing old clothing is so much fun.
Dope
This looks sensational! But yiure right, i need more concrete, clear instructions! Try again!
Omg I love this tutorial thank you I will be trying this 😻
I’m new to your channel and I’m a baby bat ig you could say so I don’t know where to really buy gothic clothes, I tried Hot Topic but they aren’t always the greatest, do you think you could help me out?
I need a sewing machine first.
Sorry for the late reply! This can be done by hand.
cute top i don't have all the sewing patience lol
When in doubt, ditch the thread and safety pins are your friend.
What is the song playing? it is beautiful 💜

where can i get the chains and pins from?
Michael's or Joann Fabrics and other crafty kinds of stores are the best bet. If all else fails, search amazon.
A sewing machine diy would be interesting.
I'm gonna break it out in the new apartment.
I prob couldn't pull that off
first
Would you date a non-gothic guy, so to speak?
I LOVE this song!
You are so creative Sister 💙 I enjoyed the angle you chose to demonstrate, that was a good idea x
