My dream show would be to see a live solo performance by Thom in a setting like Ingenue on Jonathan Ross playing only stripped down versions of all his piano-based songs.
Thom's falsetto is very interesting. It's like a false falsetto. To us it sounds like chest voice, just really high, but you can definitely tell the switch back to chest voice, which means it's head voice.
I've been a radiohead fan since high school, I've always sensed alot optimism in their music. This stereotype that all their music is sad is fucking bullshit.
I've listened to this compilation for so many early mornings now. Being Schizophrenic (supposedly?) , speaking of myself, this strikes every nerve. Things resolve, like the most melodic of chords, within my own heart & mind. Keep it up Thom, I think you might just keep me sane sometimes.
Jesse Judd. Being bipolar, and a lot more, makes you have to have a significant "normal thoughts'... you enjoy it cos they fill us to the top, and still there are people thinking this is too sad for them... exactly that is we love and finally, don't you think so?
Jess Judd, who can say what's right, what's wrong, about speaking of yourself, ha ha ha ha, then I have about hundreds multiple personalities in my head, true?
Jess Judd. Hey Jess I have been writing little quotes for you, cause I felt like you in your words, but you say nothing... feedback bro, really interested, c.u. then... Carol xxx
I just love his Henri Cartier-Bresson approach to the photograph, out of focus, much like existence itself. Some would say - 'This is a bad picture of Thom' The artist says otherwise....
@joe curtin Thom seems somewhat surprised, and indignant in this shot, a seeping flow of his work of late. I don't see this as posed as you seem to insinuate...
Reminds me of Tom Hanks at the end part of his stay on the island in Castaway, after he had lost wilson. Perched at the fire, doing his old sage, shamanic like, nightly, one man show rituals. The resolute lone man n the wild, the madness, the aging, the true voice found, the accompanying, if imperfect inner peace that follows. True home, self. 👋🤌💞🙏✌
Cosmic? Gorgeous? These echoes of darkness which inhabit us and which we deny, reminiscences of time immemorial where Lilith - before Eve - consoled Adam, voice of the splendid Nature that the proud bipeds despise unjustly, lyrical lament of organs abandoned in ruined chapels. The unfolding of these melodies delivers us a moment from our chains and delights the soul by propelling it into dionysiac dens resplendent with chaos where the devils laugh at the sour Reason who goes grumbling..
It’s too bad unravel (thumbs down version) can’t be included (because there’s a little backing by the full band), that would have fit in so well here. Nice work thx.
Awesome! Except piano solo means the piano by itself. But i will say that these recordings are MUCH better than listening to Glen Gould mumbling pretentiously over his Bach piano performances.
This version of bloom speaks to my soul. It keeps me alive. Thank you, thom.
The flute on suspiriun , wow. And Fog! Didnt hear that for a long time

Thom's beautiful soul

Thank you for this. I really enjoy listening to Thom's piano solos. They're quite something!
one of the best singers ever.
It's easy to recognise a unsuspected bad day : just put Thom's sweet fingers on track and tears will start flowing on their own.
This is probably the best video that exists on UA-cam.
I fuckin love Radiohead mind
you haven't listened to scotch mist?

even better than thom screaming and jumping in a pool?

Beautiful. I'm just wondering how does he make the background noise/music beside the piano in Bloom?
Sampling the piano and running it through a modular synth. You can see him doing it here: ua-cam.com/video/EdmL835q9To/v-deo.html
"All is well, as long as we keep spinning. "...plates?
