Hi Brandon this is Dave Seamans. I've only commented once and that was when you did the video when you shared your heart about your mom's passing. You afterward apologized in case some people might have gotten offended about the God thing. and I told you never apologize for sharing your heart and especially about God.😂 Again, Really appreciate your heart of giving and service to/for other people in sharing your wisdom and knowledge. Especially concerning making your own tools. I can easily follow your logic & common sense. you put things in a simple easy-to-follow manner that anybody with some good common-sense can follow and get some great benefits from. Necessity is the mother of invention ,..it inspires us. That's how a lot of great inventions come about, they're born out of a practical need. You have a knack for seeing things where they need to be. And you use what you have on hand to make that happen. that's impressive. and after I see you do it I think; of course,... that's how that should be done 👍 why didn't I think of that. 😊 it's simple & it works. I'm getting a lot of great ideas to cement some of my own for making my own tools / inventions.👍 You're giving and sharing of your wisdom and is definitely energized by the love of God, not ego or pride. Just good ol simple common sense, stewarding what you have at hand around you. Thanks again keep up the good Godly work.
This is probably one of the nicest comments I have ever received @ David H. Seamans I cant thank you enough. I really love fabricating, welding and sharing that with others and I'm glad that shines through my message with the videos I produce. I like to think I have as much fun doing the videos as my viewers do watching them, which is why I say we have an awesome community and what I consider the best on the internet. There was a time not long ago that I felt a little awkward about sharing that message of God, but I'm at a place in my life that I'm rooted in my beliefs (due to my recent experiences I shared in that video) and I can respect others that might disagree with me. I'm secure enough in my beliefs now that it's part of who I am and for that I'm thankful and I consider myself blessed to have discovered this in my life, which is why I will always end my video by saying God Bless, and If me saying God Bless offends someone, thats on them, not me. Thanks again man for your compliment and I hope you have a great weekend. Be blessed brother!
@@BrandonLund... I will sir cuz I'm spending part of it with my 84 year old mom ...we went to her church supper for mother's day with about 15 people attending... It's a very small Church in our hometown. Thinking of you and your mom,,.. got you in my prayers brother❤😇
Enjoy your time with your mom brother. I will be spending it with my wife and daughter and doing a church supper also. We too have a very small hometomwn church. I like the tight nit community. Have a great weekend buddy and prayers for you!
Great video and advise. Just a tip on mounting generator to van which i did was to use a rubber exhaust mount to stop any metal chaffing or wear to metal parts.
OMG Brandon, I bought those a few months ago and I’ve been nervous to try them…I know that sounds weird. You gave me the confidence to try them. Thank you!!!
Cut and glue a piece of thin plastic bottle (soda, dish soap, etc) inside your tube cradle to prevent dogging up the paint. A piece of old worn out welding glove leather would work too
That welder is pretty impressive. I know 90% of it is the man laying the beads but good equipment is always a plus. Thanks for sharing the “sniffer filters”. Never heard of them. Dang fine job brother!! Have a great weekend.
Thanks for sharing Brandon, great job anchoring the generator in the trailer . Staying safer with the nose filters will help . Keep up the great videos and the fun you're having finishing the fabricating/welder/camping trailer. Fred.
@@BrandonLund Oh yeah! Chris is the boss and I also have watched him. But , I think he has his hands full, since he's a Fronius rep. Hahahaha Isn't that the truth! Working on rust and fitting body panels is a pure test of patience and I think I've driven the struggle bus more than I care to think about LOL
Love your channel, built a fixture table using a jig as you showed, turned out great. Next project is the grinder rack. Only upsetting experience and not your fault. No wonder the health service is on it's knees. Sorry for the rant. Keep up the good work it's much appreciated. Cheers Steve.
Steve, Thanks man and I wonder why it costs so much? This is actually why I had to stop doing international giveaways. My first ever giveaway, the winner was maybe in Britain or Europe, I cant remember but either way, it was such a pain to get it through customs. I sat for months then the winner actually had to PAY to pick up his FREE prize. Needless to say, I felt terrible for him, not to mention it made me look bad.
I find I save a lot of headache checking my fit as I go, like you did, with just the tacks ideally. Every dimension counts and it's hard to keep track of them all.
Man I love that fronius welder what beautiful welds it does. If I had that welder in my arsenal i wouldn't ever use anything else. Nice work as always.
Thanks Paul. I love teh Fronius also. It's not cheap but it it is built like a tank with a ton of features...sometomes too many and I have to look up in the manual LOL
LOL, I looked at your list of everything you use... I was looking for that work table and didn't find any reference. It looks like a steel plate sitting atop another bench. I'm 70, just beginning to play with welding. So far I excel at sticking rods and making very ugly welds. Somewhere I read "practice. practice, practice!". Update: Reading thru the comments I found a link to your tools and to this: "The Ultimate Welding and Metal Fabrication Fixture Table Build!"
12:28 I couldn’t have helped myself- I would have cut that welded ring right off and used 2” flat, centered, instead. A 1” hole remakes the anchorpoint without the clutter.
Generator will swing away from the wall when you're making right-hand turns if you don't secure the wheels. I ordered the 4=pak filters with four sizes. $4 free shipping, used Paypal. High pollen here in the pine forest so hoping this helps me.
You can hinge the other half pipe section. Add a bicycle tube sleeve. Close with a nut on half and a bespoke bolt through a hole in a tab to tother. This will lock out lateral movement on your locking latch in the box side keeping the mechanism secure. If you had welded it to the genny frame it would almost do the same thing? Only you welded the latch instead , so there would be no removing it then 👎? Great connection with the air cleaner product . Thank you very much sir.
Hello Brandon, Jose from Puerto Rico. I loved this video, man! Would it be possible for you to make a video with your teaching style (awesome teacher) on how to set up that Fronius TransSteel 2200 welder you showed today? I have one myself, and I'm learning it, and I just enjoy your style of teaching. I want to learn it better and use it more often. Not only that, but I'd like to see, if possible, how you set up the controls for different size material gauges and thicknesses. Thanks for this video.
Thanks man I appreciate it. If you want a good instruction on the machine, this guy is hands down the best. He has a series on the settings. I refer to him when I'm not sure of a setting. I've linked part one of his videos ua-cam.com/video/L5n-Kgs0Vu4/v-deo.html
Excellent idea and another great video. I had an enclosed trailer (a bit smaller) with a generator mounted and a door that opened on the side for the exhaust to exit. I don't know if it was a breeze or what, but it would fill the trailer compartment with exhaust fumes and sometimes would choke out the intake filter. I don't know if that would be an issue for you. I thought afterword's, maybe a little fan or something would make sure that the exhaust is always vented outside. Just a thought.
Thats a great idea. I most likely will run this with the door fully open on the back and the side door open also...plus it will help keep the trailer cooler
Quick , its 20 minutes long 😂 like video saw it til the end.👍🏻 Helped me kill time while going through the drive through at jack in the box. I watch your videos everywhere. 😂👍🏻
As always, an impressive trieste on how to do things!!! Very informative, and well presented. Those nose things are great but I can see that they are a one use item and that could get expensive. I think I will stick with my respirator. Great job, Brandon!!! Thanks for all you do. Be well, be safe, be Blessed!!!
Thanks Jim! Yah these are a one and done setup. For me, i'm probably going to do both (wear a respirator AND the nose things). That way when I take off my mask I'm still getting some protection.
Very useful invention those nosefilters and astonished how much we inhale without noticing it. This is the proof. I definitely going to pay much more attention in using filters instead of just working without as in the old days. If I should have known this earlier and igoring pressure from my boss that you don't need all this. I am smarter nowadays and this vid helps enormously to make us more consiously about these dangers. Thanks a lot for your trouble Brandon. Greetz from Holland, Marcel Knippers.
You know something Marcel, I feel the same way. When were younger, safety is not as important. I find myself now taking my time to think things through so I am being safe (or I try to be anyways). I plan to use these in conjunction with a respirator. So when I take it off "for a minute" like we all do to answer the phone or take a drink, I'm not breathing in the carcinogens that are still lingering in the room.
@@BrandonLund Exactly my thoughts. How many times we take up the phone and so on, stop welding, whereas there is still a lot of stuff floating around us and take the respirator off. With these nosefilters and your mouth shut, you are still protected well and find yourself a clean spot so as to drink etc. In the '80's we had to weld on primered car-parts with inhaling dark-blue smoke coming off. I'll pay a price for this later on😁. Now I only start welding with safety first even if it takes one hour....Because of your Vid, I gave myself a present today: a M3-mouthfilter $70. It's worth the price. Thanks again Brandon.
Hey Brandon, I got a question for you.. I was looking at lift tig welders on Amazon and none of them mention you can weld aluminum with them… I’m so confused, I thought aluminum and stainless were the main reasons you would want a tig welder. I mainly just want it for aluminum and preferably a 110 machine. I watched the video you made about the blue demon tig/stick welder the other day but I couldn’t find it on Amazon.
So if your looking to tig aluminum your going to want an AC machine. WAY more expensive than a DC machine. There is an alternative. You can look into MIG welding aluminum. ua-cam.com/video/FGhSo82MP9U/v-deo.html
Looks good. Did you consider removing the generator wheel and welding on 2 E-track connectors to the bottom of the Generator? Not practical if you plan to remove and move the generator around the worksite.
G’day Brandon that is a very tidy fix for tying down the generator. I like the way you’re welder feeds the wire out without pulling everything apart, I guess that is what you pay a premium price for, all the little things. How many immigrants could you fit on to you’re new block of land 😂 😂 😂 I’m going out right now to remove the dividing fence I could do with a little more land 😂 I enoyyed today’s episode keep it coming brother I enjoy the bit of humour as well.
Hahahahah @Rod I think you might be the first person that caught that subtle joke. I guess i know who doesn't skip through the videos LOL. Take care buddy and have yourself a great weekend!
Seeing your welding table reminds me of a question I have been wanting to ask. What annular cutter did you use on that table? HSS, TCT somthing else? Were you able to do the table on one cutter? Thanks!
it doesn’t block anything breathing through your mouth. I just bought the Lincoln XLR and I don’t like it. I can smell everything I’m working with which means I’m not protected from it. I breathe too easily when wearing the respirator which means the filters do not filter very well. it’s basically a particulate filter. I don’t think it blocks organic vapors.
If you can smell fumes that does not mean your not protected. I used to think that too but after some research I learned thats not the case. 3m has a real good article about that. I'll see if I can find it. If you want to block smell all you need to do is find a cartridge with charcoal. That's what removes the odor. As weird as it sounds, you can still be protected while still being able to smell an odor. That's what the 3m article was about. As far as mouth breathing with a nasal filter, you wouldn't be protected because breathing through your mouth bypasses the filter 👍
Brandon, I'm sure you already know, but they do have ratchet straps for rail mounting. I've picked up some over the years, and change them to hooks. They suit my uses better that way.
I actually have a whole drawer full of them from when I ordered the track but they are yellow....I'm too OCD to use them. I wanted the black hidden look LOL I know, I'm weird LOL
Fronius welders are notorious generator killers. Be aware. They regulate down to less than 150 Volts before they throw an undervoltage error code (if they are for 230V). And the Amps they draw from the socket rise sky high. Up to 50 Amps easy. If you plug them in a cheap genset without good overload protection the genny will burn out in minutes if you crank that Fronius up. I have a Transtig 1800 and 110 Amps is the absolute limit for cheapie Harbor freight generators.
Nice job!! The problem that I see with those nose filters is that they don't do anything for toxic fumes. Interesting idea though. I used to know a fellow woodturner who would stuff cotton balls up his nose in lieu of wearing a mask. Yeah, no.
Thanks Scott! I wouldn't turn down a year supply for sure! I'm not sure they could completely replace a mask but I can see myself doing both actually. That way i'm protected from the smoke that still lingers AFTER the weld when my mask if off. FYI I was going to spray the inside of the saddle with contact cement then attach a bicycle tube to it and trim it nice and flush after the glue dried to keep metal to metal contact from happening but then I thought I would just be showing off LOL
Don't know what this pipe is someone put between our property and the neighbors, but it should work! 🤣🤣👍👍 Nice anchor. If the wheel washer spacers were on the inside of the wheel, would that be enough to inset the axle inside the wheell?🤔
Lol Not many have caught that about the property pin. Great tip on the washers. I actually started with the washers on the back but it didn't work for some reason. I can't remember what the issue was. I didn't really like the axle sticking out because it can scrape into things.
The inside nose filter cracks me up! That can’t do much filtering at all. Reminds me of “Inventor Solves Climate Change with Personal Air Filter Invention” by Vermillionbobcat. 🤣🤣🤣
Its a personal preference. I don't ride my motorcycle on the street with full race gear but I do wear a helmet and a leather jacket. Sometimes a little protection is better than none at all in my opinion.
Brandon...this THD thing...as far as I know (which is, admittedly, a fair bit) any inverter type welder shouldn't care much about THD, will even be happy running on DC....OTOH, a "buzz box" will certainly care about frequency and distortion.
Gee, Brandon, I never guessed that you need to clean up the bar stock before welding...what a surprise! Hmmm, maybe that's why my stick welding beads look so awful?
You really shouldn't be welding over mill scale but we probably all do now and then. Smoothing the wire is really to prevent any of they nylon portions of the liner from geting damaged as it initially feeds. This is especially important with aluminum wire because the liners for aluminum are a soft nylon / graphene type of material as opposed to mostly metal for steel wire and flux core.
God a question a new to your channel and i think it's great. I'm learning a lot I'm just getting into welding and using a plasma cutter but my question is did you make that clamp You use on your table.or can you purchase them? And if so where
Thanks Charles and welcome aboard! Those clamps can be purchased but I made mine. Actually I made everything you see on that table. I have a playlist series with all the tools I built and how I built them if you want to check it out ua-cam.com/video/U4UyqYllbA8/v-deo.html
WHAT! I've probably given away more welders and plasma cutters than anyone on the interet LOL. You must be asking if I'm going to be doing more of them? And yes very soon but I've got to get caught up on the projects first.
FYI - Moving, removing, or defacing survey markers is illegal in most states. You could be liable for the costs of having property re-surveyed and new markers installed in addition to legal penalties.
LOL I would never do that. Those that have watched for a while pick up on my dry humor. I occasionally joke about draining my motor oil in the storm drain also. I would never do that either. That's what the empty hole is for when you remove the property pins LOL
You need some 3x2 timber notched to fit the generator frame and the van side frame. Hold the generator in place with ratchet straps. One to the van side and one to the floor. Cut off the excess strap and keep for this job only.
If you make this a habit it will extend the life of your liner....especially when you start running aluminum and the soft graphene / nylon liners. Those are easy to mess up from a burr
@@BrandonLund I thought it was just me being a weirdo… It’s nice to know there’s other weirdo’s out there…😆 But that’s seriously what I thought it could mess something up in there. I love your videos, I always learn something…👍🏼 Oh those nose filters are super cool also… I might have to buy the sample pack and give them a try…
I take those nose plugs and throw them out. There is a reason dust masks and respirators cover the mouth. Like when you talk, you will breathe through your mouth and when you start working harder you will breathe through your mouth.
I agree, but I think they have their place and they are definately capturing impurities. In a perfect world I would wear my mask 100% of the time when filming and while welding then as soon as i'm done welding (so I can narrate) the smoke would have fully cleared from the shop, but the reality is thats not how it works (in most non commercial enviroments) and this is just another tool in the toolbox to help protect me. Having something is far better than having nothing. Better yet, wear both a respirator and the nose filters...Like wearing a welding hood with safety glasses on.
Its not luck that i have all 10 fingers and toes. Just like anything in life you do over and over, you become a master. Through repetition, you learn your limits and boundaries. What looks dangerous to others was created from hours of building skill. People generally get hurt by one of two things, inexperience or becoming complacent. I'm neither.

I'll pay a price for this later on😁. Now I only start welding with safety first even if it takes one hour....Because of your Vid, I gave myself a present today: a M3-mouthfilter $70. It's worth the price. Thanks again Brandon.
Right on Marcel! We got to look out for each other!
Thats actually a great idea but I might be removing it occasionally.
Good video...thank you!
Thanks man!
Just add a battery bank and fill that bank with the Genset. The Genset is fine and the added benefit is that you have backup power for other things.
Excellent idea Jon. I thought about that but I was concerned with the added weight.
Thanks!
The annular cutter is from my kit from Evolution but you can also buy them seperately. It's 5/8" and it was as sharp after as it was brand new.
Nice one. Very neat 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Good job Brandon 👌🏻
Thanks Basil!
What year is your fronius? I bought one in 2023 and my drive roller housing is a plastic not all metal like yours. Yours looks way sturdier.
2020
Really clean install 👍😁
Thanks Dave I appreciate it!
it doesn’t block anything breathing through your mouth.
Thank you!
Thanks for giving your information¿
Fronius welders are notorious generator killers. Be aware. They regulate down to less than 150 Volts before they throw an undervoltage error code (if they are for 230V). And the Amps they draw from the socket rise sky high. Up to 50 Amps easy. If you plug them in a cheap genset without good overload protection the genny will burn out in minutes if you crank that Fronius up. I have a Transtig 1800 and 110 Amps is the absolute limit for cheapie Harbor freight generators.
Good to know. Thank you!
I just ordered a sample package of those booger filters to see how they work.
Let me know what you think Jose.
Have you used a millermatic 250x? Did you get good results. Thank you
Yes and its a very nice machine although many aren't a big fan of them.
May I ask why people aren't fans of the 250x? Thank you
Great job, Brandon. Always professionally done. And, nose filters, wow, okay, cool 😎 lol.
Thanks man I appreciate it! Yah those nose filters are pretty cool!
Nice tools arsenal!
Thanks 👍
they are called AERS in UK and europe from aerfilters UK
Intersting! Thank you Chris
Nice job!! The problem that I see with those nose filters is that they don't do anything for toxic fumes. Interesting idea though. I used to know a fellow woodturner who would stuff cotton balls up his nose in lieu of wearing a mask. Yeah, no.
Thanks man. They advertise on the filters that they filter out carcinogens.
so how you keep from inhaling vapor or particles through your mouth?
I explained that in the video. Go check out their website. It has all the information.
Stick a sock in it? 😅
🤣🤣🤣👊
Once again you wowed me that was a great fabrication cool idea I will use on my trailer and that nose filter company should give you some royalties
Nice work! 👌
Thank you!
@@BrandonLund gotcha. But give that video a look. It's darkly hilarious!
I will LOL thank you buddy :) 👊👍
Brandon...this THD thing...as far as I know (which is, admittedly, a fair bit) any inverter type welder shouldn't care much about THD, will even be happy running on DC....OTOH, a "buzz box" will certainly care about frequency and distortion.
Good to know! Thank you for sharing.
Gee, Brandon, I never guessed that you need to clean up the bar stock before welding...what a surprise! Hmmm, maybe that's why my stick welding beads look so awful?
Without seeing your work I can't say. Maybe you just need more practice.
That was a quick fix
Sure was! Thanks Jake
I thought you were supposed to sharpen the tip of the wire so it feeds easier and would provide an easier arc start through mill scale?
You really shouldn't be welding over mill scale but we probably all do now and then. Smoothing the wire is really to prevent any of they nylon portions of the liner from geting damaged as it initially feeds. This is especially important with aluminum wire because the liners for aluminum are a soft nylon / graphene type of material as opposed to mostly metal for steel wire and flux core.
Why not another one for the other side of the gene?
It wasn't necessary because of how it fit in that spot.
@Brandon Lund, are you ever going to do any Welder/Plasma Give a ways??? Thank you!!!
WHAT! I've probably given away more welders and plasma cutters than anyone on the interet LOL. You must be asking if I'm going to be doing more of them? And yes very soon but I've got to get caught up on the projects first.
@@BrandonLund Great to hear !!!
When the electric start fail… will you have enough room to pull start?
Lucky for me it's on the outside as opposed to against the wall so it will be easy
That's what the empty hole is for when you remove the property pins LOL
please tell me the kilowatt rating of that generator
7.25kw constant and 8.25kw surge
You have 4 washers on the outer wheel axle, remove two of the large ones and cut off the excess threads, Might help, might not
Good idea! Ty
First thing I thought of about those nose things is that you should wash your hands after. Not before 😅
Neat idea though, never heard of them
Hahahahaha Probably not a bad idea....but maybe your not supposed to shove them 2 knuckes deep like I was LOL
Why not just use a turn-buckle to hold your generator tight against the side of your truck bed?
You need some 3x2 timber notched to fit the generator frame and the van side frame. Hold the generator in place with ratchet straps. One to the van side and one to the floor. Cut off the excess strap and keep for this job only.
I'm not using my truck as a welder rig.
@@BrandonLund lol, I’m a welder by trade.
👌🏻 really nice
Thanks man! 👊
you look pretty good with a nose ring lol
Hahahaha
I actually noticed that burr on the end of the wire and cleaned it up before I threaded my welder up… I’m glad I did now…😂
If you make this a habit it will extend the life of your liner....especially when you start running aluminum and the soft graphene / nylon liners.
LOL there are ore of us weirdos than we probably know LOL. I love little details like this and yah those nose fitlers are pretty impressive
Brandon, that's a damned fine Diastoma that you have!
(For those who have no idea, it's the gap in the front teeth)
Surprised you didn’t use a piece of wood to push the short pipe on the band saw.
I thought about it then wanted to test my skill
Nose plugs instead of a respirator? But you will still breath in fumes thru your mouth to you lungs which is what you’re trying to protect.
When you skip through a video you miss things that were covered.
Wait until someone wants to locate your property line!
🤣🤣🤣
Removing a survey property corner of marker is illegal, just saying.
😁😉
Hey Why not use Peanuts, ha ha ha!!!
LOL that would probably work...drill them out and thread some dental floss through them so we can wear them around our neck LOL
Don't sneeze!
🤣🤣🤣
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👌🏼😎
Thank you Max!!!!!!
Aren't the tracks for straps? Just saying a ratchet strap while not sexy, would work like a charm.
I'm pretty sure I said I was using ratchet straps...
Please don't use a bandsaw like that if you value your fingers
Its not luck that i have all 10 fingers and toes. Just like anything in life you do over and over, you become a master. Through repetition, you learn your limits and boundaries. What looks dangerous to others was created from hours of building skill. People generally get hurt by one of two things, inexperience or becoming complacent. I'm neither.
clickbait. what about the setup?
