Brandon . I thought for a while about weather or not I was going to share this with you but after your disclosure I decided to. My mother, too , passed away from cancer. When we became aware how advanced it was I moved into her house to help her. I would give her her shots every day and do what I could to make her comfortable. One day we were sitting in the family room and she was having a particularly difficult time breathing. She looked at me and asked me if I minded if she didn't hold on any longer. I , of course, told her I didn't want her to be in pain . She was laying on the couch and I was holding her hand and within 2 minutes of our discussion she was gone. One of my daughters was particularly attached to her and they had this thing about discovering pennies being good luck. After my mom died, my daughter, when she was struggling in life would discover piles of pennies . My daughter has had some trials in life but is doing great now. I believe these discoveries have been critical in helping my daughter get beyond her issues.. My mom is watching over her.

@williamlanphar630 I'm so glad you shared this. Hands down that is your mother letting your daughter (and you) know that she is looking out for you both and that she is ok. These are blessings that our loved ones sometimes share with us. Not everyone is so lucky to receive these gifts i'm told. The other night I was at my moms. I still announce myself when I enter. I said out loud "I'm coming back tomorrow mom to grab that lamp for my office" (she has a nice floor standing lamp that I liked). I came back the next day and the lamp was ON! I'm the only person that has a key to her house and the lamp was 100% off when I left the day before. I just laughed out loud and said thanks mom. Enjoy these times. I hope it never fades but I think we are given what we need at the time to get through what we are going through. I'm cherishing these moments and I'm sure you both have also. Thanks again brother and God Bless!

My mother died 35 years ago this May of breast cancer. I still tear up telling her story. How you didn't, amazed me. The wind chimes WAS your mother's soul, as was the light coming down on your home. My Uncle Gus loved the snow. When he died it was a January that was cold but dry. As we carried him from the hearse to his grave it started to snow like crazy. As we placed him on the cradle to lower him into the vault, the snow instantly stopped. I surely believe. God Bless You Sir!

Thank you for sharing your Mum’s story Brandon and how you experienced it; it was very moving because of your honesty. Spirituality is experiential if we allow it to be, not a religious thing, people may chose their medium to communicate with the universe, and it is important that powerful experiences are shared to pay that forward too. I love your channel and this awesome technology we are fortunate to have access too. Great video 🙌

Hey Brandon. Nice story about your mom. Thanks for sharing that. Lots of folks our age have lost parents to cancer. Hard to believe that subscribers were giving you a hard time for not posting. Other than the risk of burning up anything not rated for 220 volts, there is nothing suicidal about your adapter. It would have been interesting to see how many amps the plasma cutter drew from your power source (breaker box) and if the cord you were using was rated for the amps. More than likely, if it didn't trip your breaker or heated the cord up, you are/were fine.

Hello Brandon, Thank you for opening up and sharing your story. Its really inspiring. If i may, were both solo child. That why i said i know the feeling of losing our loving mother. I think the light that you saw going to your haus was an indication that your mom is shining down and watching you. On my part its different, a few days after the passing away of my mom, a Big Beautiful Colorful Butterfly went inside my moms house and stayed for a few days. The whole relatives believed me when i said that it was my mom who visited us and showed signs that she's watching over us. You're right about your mom's in a better place now and still watching and guiding and giving you light.. That's what mothers do right? BTW nice and inspiring video. Thanks and God Bless you and your family.

Thanks for sharing about your mother. When mine passed, a calm came over everyone with her at her last breath. My father before he passed would look in the corner of the room and keep saying, I'm not ready yet. Can I have a little more time? I'm glad you are sharing! You're not losing me as a sub because it's important to connect and heal while others watch your back from the wolves who want to try and take you down in your vulnerable time. Peace be with you Brother

Peace be with you! I can relate to the calm you spoke of. I would say we experienced that also. Shortly after her last breath and the chimes ringing about a minute later she let out another breath. We knew this was her body relaxing and we could feel that her spirit was no longer with us. It's amaxing how much energy our souls produce and feeling it leave was amazing knowing she had gone to a bettter place.

Good on you Brandon. Like many other commenters here, I lost my Mother to cancer a week after the closing of the 2000 Sydney Olympics. When the call came from her hospital that she was close to death I was in hospital 200 miles away. After arguing with my doctors, wife and family we rushed to her bedside only to arrive about half an hour late. Although she had advanced Dementia and by that stage she only remembered my oldest brother, the first born, didn't matter, we all understood.
You're a good man my friend.
BTW, nice cutter, I'll pay freight, 😆😆

Thank you so much brother for sharing your story. I lost my dad in 2011. I told him I would be right back. I ran home to pack a bag so I could stay with him. I was within 5 minutes from returning and my step mom told me he had passed. I carried that for a while but I know they are both in a better place. Dementia is brutal. As far as the plasma cutter, we need friendlier customs agents. They don't like when I ship things with a zero declared value LOL

I feel ya Brandon. When my dad passed 20yrs ago, my distant family helped move his belongings around. When my Aunt needed help opening a latched door, because her hands were full, the door unlatched and opened. No windows open or any breeze of any kind. She dropped everything in fear but I was frozen where I stood lol! I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it. So I do believe in another entity out there. I'm around your age so I'm helping with what ever I can for my mom as well.
Anyhow, I'd keep those wind chimes close if you still have them. 🙏

Oh I sure do. What I didn't mention in the video as I was holding her hand I could feel her slipping away and within 15 seconds the chimes started going. I hollered to everyone and pointed at the chimes saying there she goes. Her spirit is leaving. It was abundantly clear that both events were tied together. There is definately more to life than what we think we know.

Yeah, I would definitely change the head of that plug. I installed my welding power in my shop last year. Not hard, because I only had to run it 2 feet. Haha

To help identify the "suicide adaptor", wrap the white (female) end with a red electrical tape or paint it red. Another way would be to wrap the electrical cord with some red shrink-wrap before you put the receptacle end on it.
Thanks too for sharing about your mom's situation and how you have taken care of her. It does not surprise me to hear how you've been responsible and caring - that is the person I have always imagined you to be.

I basically had to do the same with my mother 3 years ago. I do have 2 older brothers but they both live 3 hours away so it was really up to me to take care of her for the last year of her life. she had a choice to go to a nursing home and live with an IV until she passed or go home on hospice. she chose hospice and made it 3 weeks but she kept saying she was ready. Really didn't make it any easier but it did ease my mind when she did pass. You sir are one of very few out there with a heart of gold. keep up the good work. love watching your videos.

Hey Brandon, I feel your pain young man. I lost my mother to pneumonia in 2015. As the youngest of three and with my mother living with me l was the one that did all the hospital trips and such like in the years when she had a heart problem and up to her passing. The hardest time, was the first time l left her in a care home. Man, that still gets to me seven years later. 2015 was a shit year for other reasons too but that's a long story.
Anyway, you won't loose my subscription young man. You have my respect 100%.

Sorry for your loss Brandon and thank you for sharing the experience. I lost my wife to cancer back in 2007 and had a similar experience when she asked me if I saw her late Dad in the hospital room and there was no one there except me and her? I bought a 3 in 1 function stick, tig, and plasma cutter a few years ago. When it arrived, I tried it out on 120v. It worked okay. I then had knee surgery and didn't get to do any shop work for a few months. One of the first things I tried was to use the new machine to stick weld and plugged it in to 220v like it was optioned to do. First arc the mosffets blew up on the main circuit board. I replaced them and tried again and this time several resistors exploded. I guess I got what I paid for on that one.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss @lloydprunier4415. Her seeing her dad is beautiful. He was there to comfort her and guide her to the Lord. One day you will rejoyce. These machines back in the day had the term "brick" associated with them. Some would last for years and some would blow up immediately as you discovered and turn into a "brick" or useless door stop. They have come a long way since then. I think there is the occasional bad unit but for the most part they arent plagued like they were in the past. Some of the older units actually had 'used" electrical components in them but I think they figured if they kept making garbage that no one would buy them so they stepped up their game. FOr a home hobbiest I think these are perfect. You end up with a decent machine without breaking the bank.

Actually, I stood up in front of our congregation 9 days after her passing and told this story to them. If you asked me 6 months ago if I could have pulled it off it would have been a hard NO WAY! I broke down a couple times but only because the whole congregation was in tears. So what I thought was going to be me turning into a train wreck actually turned out to be the most special gift anyone could have given and it's given me strength. Brandon... in the Philippines where I live as an ex-pat... we use 220v @ 60 hz with Standard Plugs for most things and we, at least " I " wrap Red Tape on all 120v connector plugs (if I use a step-down transformer for my US appliances) as again 220v is our standard here. Folks in the US could do same in reverse. One could also use Red Spray Paint to identify/separate the different voltages. Just sharing what I do. The mileage of others may vary... and Thumbs Up on your videos.

When you saw and heard the wind chimes when it was all calm that was your mum saying "I am still with you" even though you can not see her, when you saw the beam of light that was your mum saying "I am still looking over you and your family", always remember that you always carry your mum with you where ever you go or with what ever you do, because your mum is in your heart, mind and soul.

15:18 Brandon, if you lose subscribers because you are a great son, because you joined your mother in faith and found a place where you discovered solace- they can pound sand and good riddance.
I am truly impressed that you have carried on through the last several years.
That shows strength and commitment and also shows that when you needed to focus on the truly important things in life while not losing those pieces of yourself that gave you a break from the hard parts, you adjusted.
    Take your time to heal.
We left the window open too and the clock in my moms room stopped when she passed. Those wind chimes were her telling you she was free and joyous and sending back her love to you.
I know you held back tears a few times in this video, let them flow friend.
There is no shame in them.
    There is no weakness.
They are tears of sorrow and joy and respect for the life that she gave you.
And thanks for being on the bandwagon of manufacturing doing the right thing not the expedient or cheap one.

So sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. We’ll continue to lift you and your family up in prayers.
To any of you out there that don’t know the peace of having Jesus Christ as your savior I pray that you seek and find it.

Brandon, I wish I knew about leaving a door open back in July of 2020 when I was with my Mom as she took her last breath. Not a bad run, she was just a few months short of 98 years of age! I am not an overly religious person, but I do consider myself spiritual. As far as losing subscribers, i doubt it. I am an avid angler and followed Al Lindner for years. When he started his new program called "Angling Edge" after they sold "In-Fisherman", he always closes the show with a short segment on his faith. Like he says, you are free to switch off at that point, but I always listen. Very often there is a pearl of wisdom shared! Anyways, I applaud what you are doing and appreciate your honesty.

It sounds like a nice long life though. After my moms passing I'm much less worried about people's take on my views. If they want to listen thats great but if not they can turn off like you mentioned. What I learned is there is a lot more of us like minded folks than I imagined. I'm just going to keep being me :)

I bought a plasma cutter last year. One of the deciding factors was the fact that it came with the male 240 volt connector. I had seen a video prior to buying mine about the "suicide connector"! I did not buy the Yes Welder plasma because they come wired the same as you showed. I even contacted them about this problem. Due either to the language barrier, or just plain stupidity, they would not ship a machine wired correctly. I did look for consumables on their site and Amazon. There are two different consumables (at least for the AG60 torch). One nozzle has a 0.30 orifice for 120 volt use up to 30 amps. the second nozzle has a 0.40 orifice for 240 volt use up to 55 amp. Thought you might like to know.

It's amazing how the Lord works. I firmly believe the Lord has a plan for us all and as cruel as it might sound, if my mom wasn't sick I wouldn't have made the time to go to church. Thankfully I did because now I'm a follower of Christ so that one day I can take the same journey my mom took and join her in eternal peace. But then my moms sickness brought me to the church then It hit me. Not only did I have the strength to see this as something positive for her, I found comfort in her passing and I had the strength to stand up in front of our entire congregations and tell them this story 9 days after her passing. Without the Lord there is no way I could have done this on my own.

I don't like it but I have gotten used to it.
At some point I want to put heavier cords on both.
    God Bless you Brandon.

Good video and job. My mom last three years were worse than death to she couldn't see. they cut off toes ,foot, below knee, above knee and then they whated to take the other leg off at the hip she said no more. You do what you need to do. Do videos when you have time it's hard to watch loved one's die a slow death. The best we can hope for is to die in our sleep. Take care be safe and well.

Hey Brandon, thanks for the video, if you feel you need to take some time away from the web and spend it with family just do it. No need to ask permission from anyone. Do what’s in your heart. If you need to immerse yourself in making videos, do that. It will help you find comfort.

Hi Brandon, I enjoyed the video and that you share experience with us. I am also spiritually inclined and certainly believe that there is more after death. Your experience is proof of this, also from the father's husband and the snow, I believe it. Don't worry about the negative people, we who continue to love the man "Brandon Lund" and that you also make nice videos, is a nice bonus. Stay healthy, strength for your family and kind regards.

Very good video,, first of all , you do what you feel you should do,, never let someone else try to live your life for you.
On the 240v adaptor I made one from a 25' extension cord , it has the 240v on one end and the 120v on the other. I'm the only one in my shop so I know not to use it on anything else.
I have 2 welders that are made to use either and 1 plasma cutter the same way.
Keep up the good work !!!!
    and Thank you !!!

Brandon I'm so sorry for your loss! That adapter reminds me the jerry rigging that we had to do after hurricane Maria in order to plug generators thru the 240 dryer. We called them "suicide plugs" too. We turned off the house main breaker (illegal) and plug the generator thru the dryer plug. Difficult times, difficult decisions. I did that for about 10 days until i could get the proper hardware and install a transfer switch.

I appreciate it Jose. Shes in a better place for sure. We had simular situation back in the 90's. We had an "Ice storm" and we were without power for 14 days and I had to do the same through a welder plug and we shut off the main breaker. You have to make due in tough times. We had a well also, so without power we also had no water.

It's not sappy. It is the truth as you know it. Your sharing that experience is so heartwarming and brings joy to more than you know and from the comments below, you are supported with Love and Friendship. I am going to share this video on my page, and I would encourage all who see it to do the same, as presenting the Love of God to all who will hear, is of such great worth, in my opinion. And, when you heard the chimes, I go back to the old movie "Its a Wonderful Life" and remember that every time a bell rings, another angel gets thier wings. Be well, be safe, and most of all, be Blessed!!!

Thank you so much Jim! I was telling someone the other day that asked me "how I was holding up". Honestly I feel very strong. It's amazing to me because I always thought I would be a wreck when my mom passed away and I probably would be if my mom hadn't been the influence that got me into the church so that I could see and feel that there is much more to life than what I knew or believed. Having her make that commotion that she did as her spirit left her body was best gift anyone could have given me. It's the reason that makes it easy for me to let go knowing she is safe with the Lord. The other night I went to my moms house to check on things and I said out loud "next time I come over mom I grabbing that lamp". She has a nice floor lanp I want for my office. I came back the next day to get it and the lamp was turned on. I'm the ONLY one with a key to her house. I just laughed and said thank you mom. I am blessed to have this affirmation in my life.

And the amazing part Jim is that a year ago I was a believer but really wasn't vested in it if that makes sense. Like I mentioned about having to go to church as a kid. I went, I believed in the Lord, I figurued if I just try to be a good person and try to live a good life and keep my fingers crossed that maybe one day I will go to heaven. I never really understood it though. If my mom wasn't sick I probably would have never taken the time to go to chuch as an adult. But what the preacher was saying on undays felt like she was talking to me. It was like the serom was about me so then I started looking forward to it. Then WE got baptized and with her passing is what really cemented everything together for me. A year ago I probably would have brushed it off as nothing but knowing what I know now its very powerful and comforting knowing its HER saying hello and letting me know she's with me.

I lost my mom to covid 2 months after my wife's miscarriage, so I definitely understand the deep feelings. Anyone that would unsubscribe because of your belief system I feel is a win for you. Those kind of people nobody needs in thier life. I have a different belief system, but that is the great thing about this country. Everyone does not need to be the same to be friendly and get along!

Thanks for sharing with us both things, spiritual and safety. I checked my plasma cutter, and sure enough it is the same. I am going to change the plug on my cutter to a male hubbel type twist lock connector. My welder has this, so I can use the same adapters it uses. It has a male hubbel type twist lock on it's power cord, which can be plugged into either a 240 (hubbel female to 240v welder plug) or a 120 (hubbel female to 120v plug). So I can use the adapters on the plasma cutter or the welder......and be safer.
Thanks to you my spirit has been lifted and possibly prevented it from leaving my body too soon, by using that unsafe adapter.
God loves you, and so do we.

great stuff I enjoy the projects you do, when i was growing up my father was a welder / maintance for Coors Brewing company. unfortunately while i was growing up i did not take advantage of his teaching in his field, when he passed 5yrs ago we liquidated his shop he had built over the years which i have now regrets, now that Iam retired I've decided to pursue learning to weld, Ran across your channel and think you have great projects that i will eventually try, Personal note about your love of your mother it reminded me of something my mother once told me when i asked why she rarely cried at her mother and fathers and my sister and brothers funerals and she told me that death is part of Gods process of life and its best to remember loved ones daily as they are able to feel those thoughts and that's what helps me as I'm the only child left, Keep doing what you enjoy.

@davestewart9146 I debated if I should because people tune in to watch welding, not hear me rant about my religious experiences but it had suchc an impact on me that I felt I had to share it so that others that might be struggling also can have comfort knowing there is so much more than we know or understand about life and death. I always thought I was going to be a basket case when my passed. It was actually the complete opposite. I now feel comfort knowing she is in eternal peace and hopefully others can find some sumilarities with their loved ones passing.
