Armando, I was battling with which gimbal to invest in, the Crane-3 or Ronin-S. You, my friend, have just put the nail in the coffin. Absolutely, the best review on YT. Thank you!!!
I use a ronin 2 and blackarm setup for my motorcycle reviews and I gotta say this little gimbal is impressive as hell. If they came out with an actual controller you could buy, I would 100% buy one of these as a backup gimbal. Nice video!
I shoot on Sony a cameras and got this for the very reason that it gives me a choice to get a bigger rig later and not have to worry about buying another gimbal. Great video!!
Dude, love the lighting and dark-ish grade you did for the talking head spots here. And those shots of you guys driving a rigged-out Jeep on a normal street with normal people... epic. 😎👍
hey guys great video…ive got a question…when balancing the gimbal o a crane or car rig do you balance it upside down or before you place it on the crane ir rig? Thank you
Great video. Ive been looking for a gimbal that had clearance for my Canon 405 and the C-200. One thing ive noticed was the focus. When you used the dual pixel auto focus it was spot on. When you went to manual focus and you watched the motorcycle headlight, it went in and out of focus as it neared the camera. I think id rely on the auto focus a bit more often. Great job on this review.
Talking about the jeep around 3:20. You mentioned it having “stiff” suspension and a lot of body roll. Rigs built for offroad usually have very soft suspension and no sway bar, which causes a lot of body roll. So part of it was correct. Stiff suspension wouldn’t allow for much body roll.
Great video Armado! Really enjoyed watching other creators helping out. I picked up this gimbal for my Sony setup, very impressed so far, no complaints
Armando thank you so much for this video. Me and my team having been looking all over to see how to safely mount this gimbal to our vehicles with more than one point of contact. This is so helpful!
Thanks for this test. Damn awesome. I own Crane 3s and love using it, mainly using with the Pocket and UMP G2. My setups have never been close to the car rig you used so I am really curious and would like to see more shots you took with this setup. Are you going to put more from this shooting on UA-cam?
This may sound odd but I believe you should have kept the sensitivity of the motors on Mid-high or high for the front mounting shots. I think your footage would have been a bit smoother. Just a thought. Try it to see what the results are next time. Rear-mounted shots were silky smooth. Awesome!
Armando, next time you guy's can put a mesh placed in front or back of the car and under the camera, in case you drop the camera, I mean. Nice video men! 👍
Finally! Been waiting for this since you posted it on your story. BTW, great content. Every time you upload I cant resist immediately clicking in the notification. great job
Hey. Tell me, did you like the Crane 3S stabilizer? When I used the Crane 3S stabilizer and the Blackmagic 6K video camera, the video picture was smooth, did not twitch? Do you like the operation of the Crane 3S with the Blackmagic 6K? I also ordered a Crane 3S stabilizer.
Loved it Armando. You just made my decision process so easy. I have a small request, if you could show how did you attach the gimbal to the arm, it's gonna be really very helpful. I'm just slightly worried if I do it wrong, I'll end up breaking my camera setup.
Amazing video! I shoot lots of car videos and this looks like an amazing setup. Question for you Armando, with the first setup (EF Glass) were you controlling AF at all or just leaving it up to the camera and monitoring. If you were controlling an AF point, how did you do it?
Hey Armando, another wonderful in-depth review/presentation 'Kudos.' I was thinking while watching, that with all the great kit that you have been reviewing over the past few years wouldn't it be awesome for you to pick some of it out and make a short using them and Then explain why you chose those parts for the shoot over others and if they lived up to the expectations and if not why? It will also be a great way to show your film making and equipment management skills. Just a thought but it wouldn't it be great?
My only gripe with the Zhiyun Gimbals is I have yet to see one with decent inertial compensation. I’m a figure skater who films with gimbals and going around curves causes so much roll. The Ronin gimbals have this less, and the Movi has none. I prefer the smoothness of the Crane, but it’s no good for filming at speeds faster than walking.
@@OnIcePerspectives DJI have GPS modules for some of their units to help prevent this movement although it's mode designed for car movement, not sure if it works for figure skating.
If you go close to 3kg or have an unsymmetrical cam like the bmpcc 4k/6k the gimbal starts wobbling in underslung. Than you have to buy the battery pack plus for 200€, because battery are not included, to fix this issue.
That was an awesome review and setup. Great presentation as well. Thanks. Oh by the way. That bike is what we used to call a cafe racer. Old school bike setup. Very nice looking bike and subject to video. I was thinking even with a perfectly balanced setup wind buffeting could introduce shake since that giant Lens hanging of the front isn't exactly aerodynamic.
Ahhh..two of my most "go to" youtubers, Armando and Josh 🔥👍🏼. Good review. I actually bought the Crane 3 lab based on Josh's thorough reviews as an upgrade from my Crane 2. Question, what are your thoughts on the Came TV Astral wireless FF? I have yet to see a wireless FF to keeps the latency to my satisfaction. I currently have the Ikan PDL movie remote live (which is now discontinued) but I love this electronic FF, but it's not wireless. Thanks again for the good work and continue to stay safe.
Refreshing to see content that isn't driven toward current political issues. It's a great escape from all that. I appreciate your work on review. Great work Armando.
That’s really insane test you guys have done. Pretty impressive work. What do u think for handheld stuff and tricky camera movements with Mirrorless body, is it worth buying 3s or Weebil S will do the job? And I also wonder, why Canon’s footage was so contrasty. Seemed like blacks/shadows are almost crushed. Specially in very last scene too
Great review. I am looking for a gimbal for a large camera. Now I know what to get! Just one question: where do you buy this gimbal at price mentioned in your review?
Perfect. Trans Am is one of my largest clients and finally, a fantastically priced solution to using my RED instead of my Mirroless for car to car driving shots with a gimbal. Thanks for the review Armondo!
@armando great test and detailed analysis. Though I feel like the horizon is off in almost every shot and you didn’t mention it. What caused this? Is there a solution?
I was already sold on the Crane 3S from Josh's review before. But, seeing this, I know I really want to pick it up. I call Josh the Gimbal Guru, so it was great to see him on your team for this video. Excellent video, Armando.
First off, dope video! Now, for exactly the purpose of filming car to car, as shown in this video, should I get this, or the new 2s? Also, can you give me any info on the controlls, mounts, monitor etc that you're using. I'm looking for the least complicated, most manual (non app controlled) and easiest to set up kinda gimbal and rig to mount on a chase car. Any info will be much appreciated! Cheers.
The cheaper version won't support the weight. You need the $1200 pro version with the battery pack to handle large loads. Still a great deal. Nice video
Creo que puedes conectar un control normal de play o xbox a tu celular y remapear la pantalla, asi podrias ocuparlo sin problemas, wow, quedo muy buen setup
Great footage and a testament to Zhiyun on their gimbal. Why don't you mount the phone in portrait at the side of your monitor until they resolves the software issue?
Hey Armando, thanks for the video review - very impactful. Can you share the “link to Josh’s” video re: the “budget Trinity” that was created? You mentioned it in your closing, but I don’t see it anywhere in the description. Maybe it is there, but it’s not obvious which one it is. Thanks!
damn... holds the horizon quite well, better than ronin M, but.... 1 screw? (The fact that when the car takes a turn the gimbal keeps the camera straight is a very underrated feature and not common.

Really having trouble balancing the crane 3 with gh5 camera need some guidance
Armando hasta ahora encuentro tu canal! simplemente bien logrado! excelente la forma en que explicas todo sin omitir calidad .

“I would consider him a an expert”
How to be a dick :)

This is more about the Blackarm than is it about the gimbal.
Exactly. Click bait.
This was such a fun day! Thanks for having me out there with you guys! :)
Keep up the good work...i watch your vids every now and then. @Adroit000
Ok

I ordered one of these last week and definitely plan to use it on a similar black arm set up on a car. Glad to see it works!
Sick video! Glad I could help out with my jeep!!
Everything about this video is so good, Armando! Fantastic review. Already planning to get my Crane 3S.
The baddest test of the gimbal on YT.
So sick man, imma have to figure out a way to do a similar rig on my jeep
Buy this gimbal and give an honest review please
Awesome video! I liked seeing the behind the scenes bits on how everything was rigged up and how it worked.
Beautiful footage guys. That bike roll THO!!! Really nice in-depth review.
Really very impressed How Armando Keep improving like rocket 🚀 from one video to another... Visuals are going far more professional.
I really enjoy these kind of videos of you!

Thank you for putting your baby on the line so that we could see these demos! Great stuff.
Payload and pricing is very nice but the horizon seems to be off almost all the time. Wouldnt happen with R2 or Movi Pro (on Maniac Mode)

Still bro...muchas gracias Amazing production value...raising the bar for all future gimbal reviews to a whole new level of mobility
I’m loving it so far. Gets heavy. But good ole push ups helps
oh man, this was amaaazing!
Thanks for a great video Armando! I just got a C300 and my old Ronin-s is probably not going to work. Love the extension arm for bodies with the EVF.
excellent work congratulations

Wow - loved this video! My 3S is arriving in a couple of days and I'm excited to put it through the ringer out in the field.
I'm here because the Jeep Wrangler haha .... Nice video
Crazy. No front filter to protect the camera from stray debris. You are brave! Always should have one for front car gimbal mount shoots.
Such a dope way to test the crane Armando! Great video bro!

Well done video, I will definitely purchase the crane 3 base on this video, and some other equipment as well thank you ....well done
That's flowcine blackarm 3 axis stabilization roll , tilt and vertical. Plus the tranquilizer it an anti vibration mount

Don't we have a horizon issue on the images? Clearly missing more footage to be complet
I noticed that also. At 4:18 the horizon is rotated about 40 degrees counterclockwise.
