I used to cook the Brussel sprouts from the frozen package... it was really bitter 😅 So I don't know if it's because of my cooking or it's the normal taste of it 🤣 but since that day, I don't like it much anymore. Until today... Wowwwww maybe I should give it a try again! the police come really fast! really impressed!

Here's a trick to get your sprouts cooked with a little bit less mess and you can prepare much larger batches. 1. Turn oven to 500 (celsius) and preheat. 2. Take your halved sprouts, put them in a large bowl and toss with the oil of choice. 3. Take a sheet pan and cover it with tinfoil. Put it in your oven to get hot (10 minutes should do) 4. Dump your oil coated sprouts on to the hot sheet pan and place them all cut side down. 5. 8 - 10 minutes; dump into large bowl; apply sauce and munch away. Loving your channel. 👽✌️
Against my better judgment I made this recipe. I roasted the Sprouts instead to save stove top space. Turned out excellent. I still do not get how fish sauce and maple syrup go together but they do, very well in fact. Thank you

This is a winner!! I made this instead of green beans for Thanksgiving -- to my husband's dismay. He detests brussels sprout but I love them. But he ate this with gusto. So good that I had to make a second batch the evening after Thanksgiving. I only made a small batch initially, fully expecting that I will have the dish all for myself. Nope, I had to share. I expect to be making this dish frequently from now on.

I tried this and once it was done I was like...oh, no, it just smells like fish sauce. Did I ruin it? did I use too much? This is gonna be awful. But then I TRIED one! WOW! This is an amazing recipe! Made this today and it was awesome! Marinated sirloin steaks in a few tablespoons of fish sauce for about 10h, and grilled to medium minus, potatoes au gratin and these Brussels sprouts with Canadian maple syrup and fish sauce. It was just awesome, the sweet and the umami saltiness was perfect with the sprouts!

I had frozen Brussels Sprouts and no way to get to a store to buy fresh one, so I went for it. Even from frozen, these little sprouts were delicious. I will definitely put fresh Brussels Sprouts on my next grocery pickup list. I used vegan “fish” sauce, which I had on hand. Thank you for sharing.
Made this to go with our roasted goose on Christmas Eve! So good! Only problem was not making enough of this Brussels sprouts 😅 no more leftover Brussels sprouts at our house!

this is a great recipe. There is another simple sauce you can make is, add some oil, fry the garlic then add oyster sauce. you can either steam the Brussels or grill it then pour the sauce on top.

Hi I have been making this since a very long time but not like you. I boil the sprouts for 5 to 7 minutes so they are half cooked. I put hem in a skillet on medium-high heat with oil and butter mix and ad a table spoon if sugar. The caramelization of the sugar will give a nice burnt color and a great sweet taste. No smoke detector problem.

It sounds like a nice ingredient combo, but it would probably be much less hassle if you cooked them in the oven first and then mixed in the fish sauce at the end, although I haven't tried yet.
Is now the moment to admit that I’ve been using maple syrup in Thai cooking in place of palm sugar all along? I call it “my Canadian palm sugar.” Maple syrup + fish sauce + garlic = yum.

Try using fresh and see what you think. There can be a little bit of bitterness in B-sprouts but it shouldn't be "very" bitter.
