This man is an absolute treasure. I just love how he approaches teaching
His enthousiasm is so contagious!
❤️❤️👍👍
Agreed. He’s a good teacher
Not pretentious, always makes me laugh, and has to be ADD. I tend to forget one ingredient too. He also always makes me want to try cooking new things that maybe have been intimidated to make! Thank you, Chef!
Lmfao that account name is fire
I just can't say enough good things about Chef Jean Pierre, and all the crew that make this channel possible. What a way to start off a Monday. I enjoy watching all of your videos as soon as they are released. You've inspired me to get back in the kitchen and taught me how to level up my skills. You make me smile and I just wanted to say how much this is appreciated! You're a joy to watch!!
Thank you so much! It is comment like yours that keeps us going! 😊👍❤️
Well said. I hope he truly knows how much we love him.
@@Samurai78420 Too true ,great guy.
What was the sauce poured over at the end?
@@battle_promaster3631 Balsamic Vinegar.
As a regular I’m actually very happy you keep “repeating yourself” with your knowledge because I need to hear your great advice time and time again to remember it forever ❤
That's how I get these instructions to penetrate my thick skull and stick.
The man single handedly did in 10 minutes what my parents have failed at for 20 years. He made me eat brussel sprouts!! Mamma Mia! Grazie Chef!!
It’s sad so many of you grew up with terrible cooks. Many of you grew up with vegetables that were simply boiled in water and served. No wonder you don't like vegetables.
@Eros Sinema It's even sadder you can't read properly. I said "Brussel sprouts". My folks are Italian and made food that would put a 5 star restaurant to shame. Didn't matter though.... I always hated brussel sprouts. Still hate cabbage. Don't care how you make it.

So sorry
The more of his videos that I watch, the more I love this wonderful chef.
Whenever I hear "Well hello there friends !", my day gets better. Thanks for everything chef ! Salutations de Suisse !
🙏🙏🙏😊👍❤️
Bonne idée que vous répétiez souvent les mêmes choses, parce j’oublie toujours quelques choses moi même 😂
I never liked Brussel sprouts as a kid - but I can't get enough of them as an adult. Om nom!
9:26 Since most special meals that I make have several different dishes, I really appreciate the advice for doing it ahead. Obviously that makes the special meal tremendously easy and the clean up is nuthing’. Thanks Chef
Brusselsprouts went from being one of my most hated childhood dishes, to one of my favorites after I learned to simply ovenroast them.
Any cooked cabbage made me gag as a kid. Had a stuffed cabbage at a wild game dinner and have eaten cabbage ever since. Every once in a while, sauerkraut gets me though.
The Brussel sprouts grown decades ago are different from the ones grown today. The recent ones are less bitter.
Too funny I never had them until adulthood. Many just as yourself has told me they hated them as children, I was like wowwwww 🤣🤣🙌🏽🙌🏽
Yup. And use fresh ones. Then they're awesome!!
Brussels is a nice country. Brussels Sprouts
Chef JP just makes cooking fun!
What a GOD given talent! A Chef, a teacher, an entertainer and a comedian all rolled into one! I thought I was a very good cook prior to finding your channel. My husband thought so as well. I've been binge watching your channel and making practically ALL of your recipes, which by the way ARE totally amazing. I have learned so much from you and have taken my cooking skills to a new level. My husband, when I make a new recipe, says "You can make THIS again!" Thank you, Chef, for all that you do. GOD Bless and stay well!
Thank you so much for the kind words! It is comments like yours that keeps us motivated to produce great content, Godspeed❤️
Chef Jean-Pierre, we absolutely adore it when you repeat your cooking instructions and advises and cooking tips and life lessons and stories. Believe me, this is why we keep listening and asking for more. Be as you are, God bless everyone..
i LOVE brussel sprouts! Now I will love them even more. Thank you, maestro!
I have never liked brussel sprouts. You are making me want to give them another try. Great video!
I'm making this tonight.
Edit:
Turned out great. Super simple recipe that only takes a few minutes longer than just boiling does, well worth the small bit of extra effort for the flavor boost. Thanks Chef JP!
I just love Brussel sprouts! I went through a phase of roasting them in the oven and you’re right. They get burnt. Now I just boil them first for a few minutes and then sauté them and load them with butter! I’ll have to try this recipe! It looks very delicious! Thank you once again Chef!🤗
I don't know how anyone cannot find Brussel Sprouts adorable. They look like tiny cabbages. I love my veggies so very happy every time chef performs magic like this with them!
They ARE tiny cabbages. The French call them "petit choux,"
@@catmom1322 Oh wow, thanks, I just learned something new! That is amazing.
Right? Right?? 🙌🏻
I love Brussels sprouts. But this video proves they are not just good but absolutely fantastic. You’re a jewel 💎 chef 👩🍳 ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you 😋
Well- absolutely fantastic when turned into a meat dish.
I have had to pleasure of making multiple dishes while watching Chef, it is a treat and he has not missed in my house yet. The whole family loves everything I have made watching these videos.
Keep it up Chef, you are teaching us these wonderful dishes.
You are GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!
i have never had brussel sprouts after seeing what chef jp does with them i want to try them!!!!!
How close this recipe is to the one I came up with makes me feel like you might be turning me into a chef!
I roast my Brussel Sprouts in a pan with olive oil, butter, cumin, and sea salt!!! So delicious!!! Now I will add some lemon and bacon!!! 🤗❤️
Bacon first, don't forget ;-))
Very good idea to use cumin! I never thought about that. Yum!
@@mjremy2605 I LOVE CUMIN!!! Cumin and cinnamon make a great seasoning pairing.
i am watching chef Jean-Pierre's video for the first time and man I JUST LOVE HIS ENERGY!! KEEP IT UP CHEF!! subscribed your channel already ❤
Awesome! Thank you!
I made these today and these are THEE BEST sprouts I ever had. Not a bitter taste in them. I will be making these again because they are absolutely deliciouso!!!
Thank you Chef, love this Brussel Sprouts recipe!
Chef has made me an exponentially better cook and my entire family is thankful. You make cooking fun. God bless you chef!
I just made this... am eating it right now. Absolutely fabulous!!
It was delicious my friend. Thank you
I love Brussels sprouts! My go-to recipe is oven roasting (not burning) them with extra virgin olive oil, honey, garlic, salt & pepper & then tossing them with a little Balsamic vinegar & sprinkling them with Parmesan Reggiano at the end. Absolutely delicious! I never thought of cooking bacon with them. I'm trying Chef Jean-Pierre's recipe tomorrow. It looks delicious, too! Thank you, dear sir!
Even as a kid I loved Brusselsprouts, and more so as an adult. Brusselsprouts have so much nutritional values as all greens do.
Great Presentation and information Chief
Cabbage in its various forms is actually superior to many other greens with respect to nutrients.
I have always called them craniums and I love them too!!!
I'm French and I'm also fond of this man. Merci Jean Pierre. Nous aussi on a besoin de tes recettes !
I love Brussels sprouts!😍
@@thegodofpez I was forced to eat those nasty little bullets as a small child. I love my mother but no one ever accused her of being a great cook. She would boil them and throw some margarine on them, salt and pepper. The comment was meant to funny not a judgement off her but her choice in food.
Chef: I cannot properly express how much I enjoy your videos and how much information I receive from watching them!!! Keep up the outstanding content!!!!
I’ve never been a fan of Brussel sprouts but I’ll definitely try these. Hey it has bacon… JP, are by a very far margin the best channel on you tube!
I had a smile on my face from start to finish watching this. What an awesome person!
I’ve been buying sprouts since you did this video. I absolutely love them! I eat the. A couple times a week now
Well, hello there, friends!
The other day I was making some pudding, and the recipe called for vanilla, a certain amount. I just poured in what I thought would be close and good. As did so, I thought about my favorite JP comment : "Measure carefully!" 😆
We love Chef Jean-Pierre!
Hey! how can it be possible not to love Chef JP and his crew
Exactly. I do this too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Baking is completely different. You always measure ingredients when baking
Small, subtle sign, of a god-tier level chef
"For all my regulars: forgive me for repeating myself...but it's important"
This just shows how passionate Chef is, about EVERY, single subscriber/student/ of his, learning masterful techniques and becoming better at their craft. No worries, Chef- even sometimes us regulars need brushing up on!
Chef! You really are the BEST on UA-cam. I’m addicted to watching you. Wish I could know you personally. And yes I always forget something!!
Hi Chef Jean Pierre, I don’t like Brussels sprouts but the way you have cooked them makes me want to try them. They look really colourful and delicious xx
I Love how you love to teach cooking to the average home cook! My family is starting to think that I actually know what I am doing, thanks to your guidance!!!!😎
Well Chef Jean Pierre, I made two of your recipes today. I made the honey garlic chicken stir fry, which was amazing. I also made your Brussel Sprouts with bacon, unbelievable. Actually, I made three recipes. I also made clarified butter for the stir fry. You are the best! Thanks for sharing so many of your outstanding recipes with us.
Chef, one of the things I really appreciate about you is that you tell us the temperatures in which something happens. No one else does that. Thank you.
Totally love his style! A super chef with great sense of humor, never tired of watching him!
They are the absolute best!!! Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🦃
I surely enjoy all the recipes I have collected here with Chef Jean
This man is an absolute legend!
always cooked them in salted water and had them with gravy. Love them since I had them once that way while eating out. Have to try your rather sweeter approach. And I have to tell you: what you do looks gorgeous.
I loved going to your cooking school. I’m actually a pretty darn good cook according to my friends. I love “ measure carefully”. When someone asks me how much if this or that. I say about that much. Thanks for posting. I enjoy your show. Btw. I also have your little trigger pulled thermometer. For that myar reaction lol.
Chef, as always, what a treasure you are to all of us.
This channel really helps me cope with all the stresses of life. ❤❤❤ Chef Jean Pierre you are a true treasure.
I love you Cheff I learning a lot with you and I find a very good job cooking.
Another great video Chef!! Please keep them coming!!
Brussel Sprouts are totally yum yum. I love the bitterness in them. Your version with red onion & bacon is incredible.
Keep on keeping on, Chef, keep repeating those pearls of wisdom. You are 😍 loved
These simple recipes are the best!
Tried your fried mushroom recipe recently. It was heavenly!
My family and I love Brussel Sprouts! I asked for a recipe a bit ago, so happy you're finally doing a video on cooking them. Thank you for all you do Chef JP stay safe, healthy, and wise!
To the family of Chef Jean-Pierre: I had watched almost a hundred of his videos before I looked him up on the internet. I was so saddened to read he had passed away, several years ago. His personality is so VARIANT! and ALIVE! I loved every second of watching him! I've found it hard to continue watching, it is a version of grief, I know. After several months of not watching his videos, Today, I watched this video, and I found my self SMILING just to hear his voice, and 'burn his mouth' once again! Thank you so very much, to you Jean-Pierre and to your family for continuing your teachings! I very much enjoy them!
Chef Jean-Pierre Brehier (Fort Lauderdale, FL) of UA-cam fame is very much alive. Chef Jean-Pierre Leverrier (Palm Beach, FL) died in 2018.
Man I’m new here but JP is national treasure ❤
🙏❤️
Awesome! Cant wait to try this!😋
Thank you for the awesome recipe chef @Jean Pierre 👨🍳
I love Brussel sprouts! I usually curry them with coconut milk & their excellent. I also make a gravy styled Brussel sprouts that are a hit when I make them.
Super Nice! 😋👍
I grew up with brussel sprouts and looooved them from day one. My dad was a chef too and he learned me, how to love bitterness in certain kind of foods. So today I love everything bitter including blue cheese and a small apple type called pigeons.
lol got to love him “onyon and butter” makes everything better. He’s a wonderful teacher and makes me laugh with his humour.
Thank you Chef Jean … love that recipe. You always inspired me to cook, one kind of recipe to my brussel sprouts…. I call them “mini cabbage”
I always steam my vegetables instead of boiling them because i've always been told you lose so many vitamins in the water even if you don t put them in for long, and steaming keeps the vitamins in better. I wonder what chef thinks.
My least favorite food is now my favorite food. Chef Jean-Pierre always talks about people hating mushrooms; which are my favorite. Brussel sprouts have been my least, if not worst vegetable to eat, since childhood. However, Chef Jean-Pierre with his infectious persona always makes his food delectable and flavorful. As long as he makes me laugh, I'm cooking his way. I love these brussel sprouts
🙏🙏🙏😊
I second the dash of balsamic vinegar ,makes the taste deepen so delish !
Hi Chef Jean-Pierre! I love brussels sprouts and will definitely try them this way, adding the recipe to my folder. Please keep repeating yourself, it helps everyone remember things better. Jack, you're awesome, too! Thank you so much for sharing!
Using bacon is a bit of a cheat :P for sure they will be the best we have ever tried that way :) I do like brussels sprouts but only lately I have started eating them more crunchy, I always used to cook them until they were way too soft
These sprouts look amazing 🤩 I’m intrigued by the maple syrup suggestion too. Will be trying this recipe later TY chef
i am from Québec / Canada the Maple Syrup Province 😉 you MUST, give it a try.
I just love watching you and your videos! You have become my number one “go to” chef!!! I’ve learned a lot from you and you put the sunshine in my day! Thank you for being you!😊
Teaches us while we have fun cooking, the best chef on the planet
I personally love Brussel Sprouts, but I am used to saute them with an onion and then add the water with a herb stock to boil till the sprouts are ready and it just brings out all the best flavours of the srpouts
That sounds lovely but why not try this as well? You might love both ways.
Did we forget the butter? Or was that just there because it’s butter and it should be out? 😂
I’ve always loved baby cabbages 😆
Even as a child. 😛
I just steam or boil all my veggies then strain and toss in a bunch o butter and s&p!! It has to be a special occasion if I’m gonna go further than that for my veggies 😅
I do roast root veggies often though cuz that’s easy 😜
You made my day, thank you! I bought brussel sprouts for the first time yesterday at 57, lol. I have had to change my whole diet last couple of weeks, recently diabetic, so will have to skip the sugar part. This dish looks so delish, going to make tonight for dinner! Cannot wait...
👍👍😊
Vinegar salt Pepper Spicy Mustard HORSERADISH
Horseradish nooooooo
This is almost exactly how I make them!!! This makes me so happy!! Now I just need to add sugar to my water and I'll be doing it the Chef JP way!! Thabks for the giggles Jack😁
You are amazing, love Brussel sprouts with bacon, thank-you
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🥂🥂
When Brussel sprouts are cooked properly, they will slide right out of the pan and into the trash.
You’re unhealthy
What a character! You have the perfect charisma and the perfect recipes. Thank you for your videos! 🧑🍳 🍲 ☺️🥰💕
Hello Jean Pierre! You are the "JOY FUL Chef"! Merci Beaucoup"!
BEST CHEF SHOW EVER!
This is such a better way for these tiny cabbages than roasting. Leaves your oven free as well. Num!!
Merci, Chef, for this technique for Brussels sprouts. Can’t wait to try it. I think the bacon/onion is genius. My husband may even take a bite this way. Hahaha he loves veg but just this one freaks him out after his younger years with his mother’s- God rest her soul now - boiled to smithereens sprouts with not even a pinch of salt. “You’re not leaving this table until you e eaten every last one!” 😂 Lol 😊 it’s the only veg he cannot tolerate, but bacon cures everything - get it? Cures? Punny huh? Shaking my own head there. Lol 😀
Loving your stuff!
Brussel sprouts are one of my favorites. I usually roast them but will try this recipe soon.
Chef, I must say that for the majority of my career I have oven roasted Brussels Sprouts. Though I rarely burnt them (I must admit though (I have been known to) I would not come up with an even roasted brown like you did in the pan. I will have to try these as they looked absolutely wonderful and evenly roasted. Most of what you make is close to what I make but I must say that I have to try Sprouts this way! I'm sure they will be wonderful as Brussels Sprouts are one of my favorite vegetables. I can see why your channel has grown to the size it has.
Not hard to see why this chef has so many subscribers. Love him.
I like to boil my sprouts in chicken stock rather than water.
Will it make a difference?
Be careful Chef, don't burn your mouth! Thanks again for another quick yummy side dish. Please show more quickies like this for those of us with so little time. Love you 😍 your the best!!!!
This recipe is the truth. I never saw any of your videos before, but I made this for dinner today. So good! I agree with the addition of the balsamic vinegar at the end. It elevated the dish to pure perfection. I will definitely be making this again. Thanks!
Chef Onyo!!! BEAUTIFUL BRUSSEL SPROUTS!!!! (Now I want to also get the cute square serving side dishes!) Wow! You made those look delightful and I will definitely do this! 😘
A legend in the kitchen!
Chef Jean-Pierre I bloody love watching your videos, you have such a passion for cooking and teaching, my younger brother is a chef, as was my grandfather and I've also had some experience cooking and working in professional kitchens, but I've learnt new skills from you, and things I didn't know so thank you.
I wish you could come live with me and teach me everything you know! After being ill for several years I'm now at a point where I can now start to cook again, and I'm falling back in love and finding my passion for cooking ❤
I've tried a couple of your recipes so far since coming across you a couple of months ago. And can't wait too try more. You are an inspiration ❤
Thank you 🙏
Thanks for this recipe!! I always hated making Brussels sprouts. Always thought they had to be burnt 😢 in the oven. Your recipe looks great and boil them with sugar and sauté them. Once again for your yummy 😅 recipe.
I just love you Chef Jean Pierre you have the most ,wonderful personality😊…. you have great humour and you make me laugh….at the same time you are teaching me the proper way to cook… I love the way you take the time to teach us every little detail in your jovial manner that is so cute…. you are number one in my book…🥰😜
Love Brussels sprouts! ❤️❤️❣️❤️❤️❣️🧄🥓🥬🧅👍🇨🇦
Thanks for all your great advice. I really enjoy watching your videos, they provide a lot of knowledge and are very helpful on a daily basis in choosing food when shopping, etc. Thank you ❤✨
