Another cracking video, Evie! Great to see everyone getting stuck in and playing their part in getting the job done. Great teamwork! 🙌🏻 so jealous, would love to be doing that.
Excellent video Evie. From sitting on the chopper, serving the tasty looking cottage pie to exorcising the dogs, all good stuff and shows just what goes on. 😄😄
I like a boonch, of aspects, you show to us. I love the humanity, that you bring to every other aspect, of your world, in your control. My older brother went to an industrial farm in Kansas from Massa-choose-its, in 1960, when he was 16, and loved engineering, not farming. He made endless, references to farm life, and it’s redeeming value features, yet grew nothing, and built endless machines, for the idle rich. You are a gem, I know you know it. Iam a fan.💜
Love this time of year Evie I no it’s hard work for farmers really enjoyed video brilliant to see what it takes to keep the uk running thank you to all the family and farmers all over the uk 🙏🏻🏴👏👏

Great vid there Evie, they keep getting better, you go to great lengths for our pleasure to see that “well oiled machine turning, I’ve been there done that it still gives me a fantastic feeling to see it done so well, you take care.
Ngl Evie , it's so good to see this a to the public like me , we don't see this happening every day , so after it's put into the shed, it's dyed out , then becomes feed for the cows in the winter yeah
We take them to our local pub/ restaurant where (we pay) they all dine together with these guys doing such long hours I think it's the least they deserve 🤔
Tks for sharing Miss Eveie. 3rd crop is really looking good. Big hay rolls. Little Freddie looks like he was ready to go... take care and waiting for the video
Hi Evie, another big day on the farm getting the silage into the shed and aren't you glad you only do it once a year. Its great to see the rain has let up, so many farmer have had their bailing and silage jobs interrupted by persistent rain lately. Glad to see the workers were feed a good hearty meal not some takeaway food. Thanks for sharing. Chris from Australia 🇦🇺.
Freddie living his best life loving the agri life. Spent many years in Ireland as a Agri mechanic. LOVED it because every farmer had a passion. Krone always make great equipment. Loving the vids Evie
I enjoy seeing everything you record, I sure would like you to do an introduction video of who everyone is that is involved on the farm. So far after 10 or more videos I know that Ben is your brother and Alex is his wife but who is the young lad helping move the cows into the parlor and who is the little fella you gave a ride on the quad? Who is his mom and dad?
Every contractor earns their money and more at this time of the year, especially. Its not an easy job at all, even with all of the more modern high tech equipment. A lot of the contractors around me, are finding it increasingly hard to find good drivers. Although the newer tractors and that, make it a bit better for the drivers to stay in them all hours, compared to years ago when you might have been lucky to have a fully enclosed cab and a rickety old spring seat 😯 The silage was looking just about perfect as it was being tipped in the pit, nothing worse than wet silage.
excellent grass chopping but as i understand still there is 12- 15 % moisture in the grass being chopped as appeared by its mild green color # good chopping even after sunset # ❤️❤️ 🇵🇰 🇵🇰
Awsome video as always!!! Now you totally HAVE TO DO A QUESTION AND ANSWER VIDEO....like how big is your farm? Are you the farm manager? Are you Married? Is your location Australia?
Hey Evie thank for great videos always, Lets get a video of Ben ,Alex and Evie on their off day go to the beach and then come back to do farm work, just a request .
Saw that kid sitting by the windshield. I’ve had three windshields fall out of three different new combines. That would be bad because you wouldn’t catch him because of the steering wheel.
Hi Evie - My wife is a big fan & watches all your videos. She often comments on how she likes the jeans/jodhpurs you are wearing. Can you tell me what they are so I can buy her some as a surprise please 🙏 Mark
Winter feed it'll all be used by next spring/summer or longer if you don't use it all. It's rolled in the pit to squeeze out the air and excess moisture to stop it going bad. Basically pickled grass for livestock
Silage is cut and left to dry for a day and is chopped with moisture still in the grass so it can frement . Hay is cut and scattered several times for about 5 days or longer and left to completely dry out before it is baled up
@keithhandley8515 thanks again for your reply. Can I ask one more question? Is the nutritional value of silage the same as with hay? Why do ranchers use one over the other?
No silage has more nutrition in it i,t's usually mixed in a feed wagon with dry feed eg barley, soya ,dark grains and minerals. It's mainly fed to dairy cows for milk production Hay is fed to sheep and cattle for fattening usually with barley or wheat or a mixture of grain's and minerals. Hay to livestock is like toast to us ,it's roughage and can help dry up the dung . Silage to livestock is like pie and mash to us , the livestock need a balanced diet just l . If cattle eat to much silage etc it will make the dung runny. Hay is left to grow for a longer period than silage ,the longer it grows the less nutritional value is in the feed. That's why silage is cut sooner and 3/4 time's a year younger grass has more sugers etc in it
Hope Freddie had a fun time watching the KRONE 4 star turner . smashing video. lol. 👍👍

i never fancied combines or things like that. too big . plus you really have to be used to it. how about you evie.
I don't know anything about silage. What's it used for and why and how long does it sit in that building? 🤔
Winter feed it'll all be used by next spring/summer or longer if you don't use it all.
It's rolled in the pit to squeeze out the air and excess moisture to stop it going bad.
