How to make Mokumegane①

Mokumegane is a technique that was created in the early Edo period.
Mokume-Gane technique was created in the early Edo period (1603-1868) and was used to make sword handles and tsuba.
Gold, silver, copper and other metals are welded together using heat and pressure.
Forging and carving techniques are used to create a grain-like pattern on the surface and finish the product. With the knowledge and wisdom of diffusion bonding, it has become possible to produce Mokumegane sheets that are difficult to peel off easily by using jigs made of special metals.
