The defiant? Don't you mean the Runabout? The defiant was based at DS9 and maybe used once in first contact. It never made an appearance in the next generation
For the nostalgic like me you can search for Star Trek Bridge Commander that proposes a similar experience but made for solo. You're in the command chair of either an Enterprise-D or E and give order to your ensigns. An amazing game made by the X-Wing Alliance studio. It may be a little bit old now but it means that any PC can run it.
Bridge Commander was terrific, and the mod community for it was huge. I even still have the original CD for it, but I have yet to even try installing it on Windows 10.
Its always funny joining a online match to have your teammates all completely piss drunk in a attempt to do anything correct. This game is so much fun even when you fail.
I would’ve preferred the bridge to take from the movie generations it was much sexier. At least give the option to switch it. Also the nx01 wld make for a nice dlc
There are a few things I don't like about the game. First is that in single player I can't use the voice control anymore, takes away a great deal of the experience and a little detail that bothers me is why is there a medic/science officer sitting in the first officer chair? Should be a red shirt. And the same on the left, why security/engineer? It's never seen on the show.
Sweet lord, there needs to be a Karak preset character to select! Ha ha ha! And such a touching ode to the captain at the end. Just beautiful... *sniff*
yup this pretty much sums up what I said would happen in VR a year ago. PSVR clearly has the strongest grip on the VR market as they have has some mild success getting the mass market on board so any & all multi platform VR games are going to be built for PSVR first as that's the only place to make the money. It's started with DLC like this coming to PSVR first & a bunch of formerly PCVR games over the last year being ported asap to PSVR. Its no wonder Sony has been posting patents for new VR plans & patenting with Hitachi to research a new VR screen that has half the latency & almost 1.5 times the DPi of even the new Vive Pro's screen. They are thinking long term & are going all in to maintain top spot in the VR space leading into 2020-2021's launch of the next generation with PS5. Once Dreams comes out & gets the full VR game development update it's pretty much game over as that will be guaranteed to have more VR content on it's own than all VR games to date combined simply because it hands development power over to the players.
correct. Approximately 204 months later than a normal release. Even in their words. Its a crazy fast release schedule and no marketing so ya it was a surprise to many. Glad its here!
TBH I've dropped most flat gaming news sites and follow things like www.roadtovr.com/ and www.vrfocus.com/ apart from the VR focussed YT channels for all my news now. Flat gamers only care about flat games it seems and VR is just a "barf-fest" and "has no games" to them, hence why imo publications don't cover it lol!
i just want to play the next generation content. the D is all i need and want hehe. do i have to purchase the whole game or can i just buy the tng pack?
PLEASE PARAMOUNT/ CBS STAR TREK TNG IS SO AWESOME AND IT WOULD BE SO COOL IF YOU GUYS DID A SEQUEL TO NEMESIS!!! I am sorry, just can´t hold myself, great video as always !
In my opinion, until the price for VR drops I won't touch it. There aren't that many titles for VR enough to warrant the cost of the system. If they had some genre-defining games, I could see it being it worth the price but for now I'll pass. (My opinion btw)
And you're entitled to it. But when you speak of genre-defining games, what exactly do you have in mind? For me, a new open action adventure game with combat akin to Raw Data and a world akin to Skyrim would be the ideal genre-definer, but other perspectives would also be interesting.
You're both underestimating the library and overstating the costs of current headsets, but that's fine. No one bothers doing proper homework on things they didn't find interesting in the first place~
As someone who owns every console and has an Oculus I can tell ya the Oculus gets used the least for me, even my Xbox gets dusted off for some backward compatible RDR or Ninja Gaiden more often. VR really is fun and my favorite thing is letting people try it for the first time always great to watch reactions but you are on the nose with no games to keep bringing you back.
thanks for the review man. I am so psyched for this, I got into this late on pc. I don't know if I missed it, but any idea about the reason for a delay for pc?
What no comments yet? Surprisingly that ACG face plug is how I feel now. Reading comments is always interesting. Write cool stuff people. Phrase of The Day: "Quads like a motherfucker" ;p
really ??? i feel sad for you.. your missing out.. PSVR is great.. i never play flat games anymore.. dream match tennis and rec room and skyrim VR are enough ALONE to buy a PSVR let alone all the other great stuff.
the TNG phasers dosnt fire with pew-pew-pew sound, they fire with a longer Peeeeeeeeeeew-Peeeeeeeeeeew, they fire only short burst if the ships are very close to each other and make a fly-by fire only short burst of the ships cuz of the close by maneuver... or in the Borg episode where they tried to destroy the tractor beam emitter and had to fast modulate the phaser frequency.. the Defiant has rapid firing phaser cannons.. but those effect look totally different.... so this is not awesome, just maybe good enough....
Aint paying what they want for this boring bullshit. Crappy combat very bad graphics it's not fun, vr is nowhere close to being ready for something like this. Knowing that ps4 has like 3 years left this was a mistake to get.

ACG great video as always
Dibs on being Counselor; sit by the Captain, and tell him how I feel. My work here is done! XD
your in
I hope they release the defiant. That way the counselor says off the bridge unless she knows how to kill borg.
That would be hilarious :D
Yeah but you have to listen to Lt. Barclay's problems all the time.
The defiant? Don't you mean the Runabout? The defiant was based at DS9 and maybe used once in first contact. It never made an appearance in the next generation
I wonder if they will add some DS9 content, it would be nice to revisit some great DS9 moments with the Defiant.
The defiant would be incredible for this.

Bridge Commander was terrific, and the mod community for it was huge. I even still have the original CD for it, but I have yet to even try installing it on Windows 10.
I still have that game.
I would love to see a story driven, recreated Bridge Commander. The original was great, but it is really showing its age now :(
Its always funny joining a online match to have your teammates all completely piss drunk in a attempt to do anything correct. This game is so much fun even when you fail.
That's the only way to play it.
I often decide to play after being multiple beers into my night. Always fun! The social aspect of the game is really good.
I would’ve preferred the bridge to take from the movie generations it was much sexier. At least give the option to switch it. Also the nx01 wld make for a nice dlc
It's also playable on PC without VR :) (though its really clunky if you ask me, since it was obviously made for VR)
There are a few things I don't like about the game. First is that in single player I can't use the voice control anymore, takes away a great deal of the experience and a little detail that bothers me is why is there a medic/science officer sitting in the first officer chair? Role play, social and presence is where VR shines. I bet this is a right laugh. I’m going to try it out.
I can't wait for the DLC that allows multiple PC ships in fleet actions.
What's with the Galaxy Class phasers firing like Constellation Class? It fires like a fire hose, not a rifle!
I want to walk around on the ships : /
0:30 made my day
Game is a must buy since you don't need VR to play it anymore its optional. Core game always onsale.
Then it has no excuse to look this bad at this point. Vr sucks.
ok poor kid
0:31 Now that's a Captain I would follow into the blackholes of hell
Sweet lord, there needs to be a Karak preset character to select! Ha ha ha!
And such a touching ode to the captain at the end. Just beautiful... *sniff*
Given how little content there was in the original, this should have been free DLC.
yup this pretty much sums up what I said would happen in VR a year ago.

Still waiting for Deep Space 9 and The Defiant.
There's Klingons on the starboard bow, scrap um off Jim!!!
we come in peace, shoot to kill, shoot to kill, we come in peace, shoot to kill
It’s worse than that, he’s dead Jim, dead Jim, dead!
Star Trekkin' across the universe. On the starship Enterprise under Captain Kirk.
Omg, I'm f'in dying about the borg cube assimilating ps2 textures. Love your reviews man.
I wish the captain position had a function beyond controling the viewscreen and barking orders people may or may not listen to
I've been playing it today 😀
Great fun I've wanted the borg since i bought it last july
You're So funny. The intro ? Just Priceless... Keep it up we love you here in Québec.
thanks!
Loved the ending :D
;) glad someone noticed
If only the phasers fired like in the show... The arc building then the beam
I'm really glad you can use the aegis on this because every other ships controls schemes are cancer
I'll have to wait for finally being able to lovingly caress the bridge of the Enterprise-E. Sigh. Our love is too pure for this universe.
Awesome, happy to hear it's good! I was completely surprised that we actually got what we asked for! Go TNG!
Always love your insight in the games that you review. Another fantastic review.
love your work brother keep it up
No one knew? The PSVR community has been hyped for weeks! :D
correct. Approximately 204 months later than a normal release. Even in their words. Its a crazy fast release schedule and no marketing so ya it was a surprise to many. Glad its here!

I hear ya there

i just want to play the next generation content. the D is all i need and want hehe. do i have to purchase the whole game or can i just buy the tng pack?
More vr reviews please :)
why would THAT be Michelle? lol
Wait, did they revamp Engineering for the other ships too or just for the Enterprise? Did I miss that? It sounds much better!
sorry just for the new one. The older ones add an option or two per ship
PLEASE PARAMOUNT/ CBS STAR TREK TNG IS SO AWESOME AND IT WOULD BE SO COOL IF YOU GUYS DID A SEQUEL TO NEMESIS!!! I am sorry, just can´t hold myself, great video as always !
Great review as always Karak. Thanks!

Ben Richards so what games do you recommend? Why should someone purchase one?
DaemonDD Like how Skyrim or GTA V helped to define open world, or how Fortnite and pubg defined battle royale
You mentioned adding a note later in the video on the PC release, am I missing it?
thanks for the review man. I am so psyched for this, I got into this late on pc. I don't know if I missed it, but any idea about the reason for a delay for pc?
Sony paid Ubisoft to help fund the content in exchange for the exclusivity window.
ahhh, that makes sense. I am waiting either way
"Aegis" -Pronounced 'Ay-Jis' -Meaning Shield or Defense.
correct ayejezyz
Great review, will have to grab it soon
thanks enjoy
I'd love to play Babylon 5 in VR!
What no comments yet? Surprisingly that ACG face plug is how I feel now. Reading comments is always interesting. Write cool stuff people.
Phrase of The Day: "Quads like a motherfucker" ;p
comments here
I really hope the Intrepid ship class gets added
this looks really fun
That ending was great!
The new game-option for this DLC:
"RED ALERT!"
Whoooommm, bammm, whoooosh, !!!
"I feel strong agressive emotions, captain!"
Thinking about buying it with my vr system tomarrow is there planetary exploration?
Been waiting for this since Bridge Commander.
I will always love you... er your reviews Karak 😅
Wussup with the 2month exclusivity to the PS4 come on
VR: Holodeck it ain't.
correct much better than that for sure
All I want is a voyager one
What?
Wait you can fight the Borg in the 60's ship? I though the new missions were locked into Next Gen only?
I would a Star Wars version of this..... shouting “its a trap”...
Are you gonna review Space Hulk Deathwing enhanced edition?
This is the best review of anything I have ever seen XD

I still wish they had this for Mac on Steam
PSVR has slightly better 3D sound? okay...

Stardate 2258.237? for TNG?!
dafuq?
they model the bridge so accurately and can't double-check their stardates!?
Defiant WHEN??
I only played a little whne it first came out and just had a blast with everyone. it was more fun laughing then playing!
disk session separates from session ship?
never got to do this b4, so here goes...first lol
as always good review.
I bought the dlc and I liked it but it should’ve been $10
galaxy not work on campaign missions ?
its a real shame they couldn't get the actual characters in the game.
Got this today and my voice commands dont work. Anyone else or just me.
Helmsman Glaucoma
This is the best game review ever! You are funny shit!
the phaser beam is not right! there should be 2 point sliding on the thing and then pewwpeww
lol geek !
Once again this game comes THIS CLOSE to being a reason to buy a VR headset, but keeps falling short.
really ??? i feel sad for you.. your missing out.. PSVR is great.. i never play flat games anymore.. dream match tennis and rec room and skyrim VR are enough ALONE to buy a PSVR let alone all the other great stuff.
This game is great in VR!
SO ROA ISNT JUST BROKEN AF FOR ME
Definitely looks like Star Trek Last Generation (or maybe penultimate generation)
Buy? What do you mean? You cant buy this anywhere. Where the hell is it?
instant thumbs up and comment for joke about "2 minutes full of sponsor bullcrap", but the subscribe is for the wolverine joke.
Is this the first time you've ever reviewed DLC?!?
Grr... after doing Stage9 in VR a ton (check it out!) this seems so bland.
You showed all kinds of screen shots.
Did I miss the T and A.
Without that and some mods to enhance that aspect.
Color me not interested.
Wow!
Sir.
Well Done.
I cringe so hard whenever Karak tries to pronounce Aegis.
Ay-jis
Was a good Video
more odes
Clearly Ensign Roa took lessons from Troi.
Sea Of Thieves in space.
LETTS GO!
the TNG phasers dosnt fire with pew-pew-pew sound, they fire with a longer Peeeeeeeeeeew-Peeeeeeeeeeew, they fire only short burst if the ships are very close to each other and make a fly-by fire only short burst of the ships cuz of the close by maneuver... or in the Borg episode where they tried to destroy the tractor beam emitter and had to fast modulate the phaser frequency.. the Defiant has rapid firing phaser cannons.. but those effect look totally different.... so this is not awesome, just maybe good enough....
Just something you forgot to mention, To play with a party of friends with the DLC.. EVERYONE needs to have the DLC to play.

graphics look like a phone app !
Aint paying what they want for this boring bullshit. Crappy combat very bad graphics it's not fun, vr is nowhere close to being ready for something like this.
Knowing that ps4 has like 3 years left this was a mistake to get.
Cant believe I spent 40 bucks for the original version. I am way better off playing bridge commander which looks way better than this.
